Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927)
🧀🧀🧀🧀 out of 5
100 year old cheese. Of course, all films are suited to individual taste and one that is made in the early days of filmmaking must be considered in that aged light, but how much melodrama can be milked from 94 minutes of pure cheddar?
Or maybe it's a mood thing, I don't know. Older movies have their audience and a certain charm to consider. It's appealing to see the nascent aspect of the craft being done with passion and purpose and made for an audience of early twentieth century viewers who can relate to that level of naive and excessive emotive fervor.
Taken within its context in film history, appreciate it for what it's meant to be -- good old American cheese.
One of Us (2016)
😭😭😭
Omg, too much crying from everyone!! How about trying to convey some emotion without tears falling constantly?
Mohawk (2017)
Oh no..
It's nice to see what can be done with an AA in Amateur Filmmaking from the community college.
In Dubious Battle (2016)
Cheesy kinda?
"I'll let you do anything you want for a can of sardines."
Hahahaha!
The Unbidden (2016)
Bad is not good
The appeal of Tamlyn Tomita, still lovely in her 50s, lured me in to this bad piece of amateurish filmmaking. I stayed until the end waiting to see if it could actually get worse. It did not disappoint.
Fallen Stars (2017)
What?
Congratulations to the filmmakers for getting this garbage produced. Too bad it was terrible.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)
Ebbing disinterest
People being people at their worst, with some sentimentality, dark humor and an annoying midget in the mix. If this wins Best Picture then it'll be another sign of the world in decline. Three Thumbs Down outside the theater.
