Escape the Field (2022)
Should have learned from "In the tall grass" or written a better ending.
There is no better way to say this than, it's impossible to enjoy this movie that leads to a non-ending with no conclusion, no revelations, nothing noteworthy explaining the mystery. And that's a pretty cardinal sin in a mystery movie.
I would say watch "Into the tall grass" instead, also not an amazing movie, but better than this.
I actually really enjoy movies like "Escape Room" and "Tournament of Champions", the cube, squid game and it feels like this movie wants to be one of those, but ends up being none of those.
It's too bad, because the actors are working hard, it's shot well, effort has gone into this, truly. If you could reshoot the ending, make it a little longer, give it an actual ending, than it would work. But it's simply horrible in its current state.
I'm kind of hoping this was a case of the studio or producers screwing this up, which still would be horrible, but then at least it wasn't the fault of the writers/director and the actors.
The Clovehitch Killer (2018)
Different problem than other reviews, still a good movie.
I read lots of people having problems with the ending of this otherwise good movie.
But all their problems revolve around the fact that they don't end up reporting his dad to the authorities, which isn't the smartest thing to do. It also doesn't help that there is a third witness and they never clearly establish this woman is out cold during all this happening. On top of which a forensic investigator would probably find evidence of the struggle... a ton of issues that don't really break the movie for me, cause at least the choice to do so is somewhat logical for the main character and you could think off reasons why things work out the way they do.
The point where this movie truly fails for me is the fact that the main characters dad turns the gun on his son. It devolves into SERIAL KILLER BAD, territory, while the rest of the movie establishes this is a family man that ALSO murders people and does this really well. He loves his son, why would he murder him, when he just talked him into lowering his gun, his sway over his son is huge. It really breaks an otherwise perfectly portrayed complicated killer and makes him a flat comic book character. That breaks the movie much more than a dumb choice that fits with the main character of the movie.
Again, still a good movie.
Fired Up! (2009)
The Best Movie EVER CREATED
It's hard for me to even start to review "Fired Up", since it is by far my all time favorite movie.
It influenced my life and I was never the same after seeing it. It's the gripping tale of two boys who have a heartbreaking problem:
They have slept with every girl in their school.
This alone would have been the basis for an Oscar winning script, but this tale goes much further than that. In a plan that can only be described as brilliant, they decide to, instead of soccer camp, go to cheer leading camp.
Now I have seen many a cheer-leading movie, mostly revolving around showering, but this one has so much more heart. The boys learn lessons which will stick with them for a life time.
This movie is filled with quotes that you will repeat with your friends for a lifetime to come and will fill your heart with a childlike wonder that can only be found in dreams.
It's a great movie to watch with kids, a girlfriend, the boys and your conservative parents. WATCH IT, you will not regret it.

ps. The only movie that even comes close to the brilliance in this epic masterpiece is the directors cut of "Sex Drive". But THAT is a distant second.
ps2. If I had to state one thing that bugged me about the movie, only to have some form of critique, it's that Liam Neeson wasn't in it, but you can't have it all.
ps3. if the creators of the movie read this review: MAKE A PREQUEL.
