Ikigami (2008)
The best Manga adaptation I've ever seen
I have to admit, I was a huge fan of the Manga when it came out.
I only learned about the movie recently and although it had been years since I even had touched the books, I immediately recognized some of the characters in the movie. Some of my favorite pages from the 1st and 3rd book where adapted perfectly into this movie. Never before have I seen such a faithful adaptation of a drawn original.
Bloodshot (2020)
Great comic adaptation
Although most of the Characters are unique to the film, it captures the feeling and message of the comics perfectly.
Even though Vin Diesel doesn't look like the Bloodshot we know from the comics, he sure delivers on everything else that makes up the character.
Some say there is "nothing new" about this movie and in some way, I have to agree.
The Character of Bloodshot is 28 years old and was featured in over 250 comics, all inspired and sometimes parodying classic Sci-fi action, of course it's "nothing new" but that's how Bloodshot always was and that's why we love the comics.
Unaccompanied Minors (2006)
The perfect blend between Home Alone 2, Die Hard 2 and the Grinch
Imagine a whole group of kids like Kevin from Home Alone having a Die Hard 2 style airport fight with a grinchy head of passenger relations. This is what you get with this movie, including a punk-rock christmas soundtrack. The only real downside is that logic takes a backseat and you get your average combusting cars, roomy ventilation shafts and walkie-talkie/camcorders.
