Sharp Objects (2018)
Haunting and beautiful
Can't give it 10 stars yet because show hasn't ended and the ending can make a big difference in how I feel overall.
However, it had me hooked from the first episode. Disturbing and sad, it shows how things are not as beautiful as thy seem from the outside.
For those leaving reviews about it being boring - I wonder what movies and shows they like. Fast and furious? So sad people are conditioned for constant action!
Una pura formalità (1994)
A Must See Movie - Great acting and directing
I did some research about the director after seeing another one of his movies and this one peaked my interest. Obviously the actors in this film was the first, but the story was close second. I saw the movie and really enjoyed it.
I have to say that the beginning does drag a bit, probably because it is a puzzle that we unravel along with the inspector. So, there is confusion and things move slow.
However, as the pace picks up and we learn more and more about the characters, it does become more interesting.
The ending is shocking but really makes you think and definitely want to watch it again for more clues that you may have missed the 1st time around. I highly recommend to see the movie and then discuss with other people, like a good book that you can't wait to talk about with your friends and family.
Escrava Isaura (1976)
Isaura
When I was a little girl growing up in Russia, I watched this telenovela dubbed in Russian. It was so gripping and I loved it so much - I remember it to this day! I'm trying to find a copy of it so I can watch it 16 years later, to see if I still love it as much. Unforgettable story. I would recommend watching this if possible. This is a very old story, and I heard it was remade. I hope they make a real movie out of this story. The story is great, and I think would make a great movie. Even if it's a movie in English, I think the story is still timeless. I remember they also showed Jane Eyre, and it was also very wonderful. However, this story still stays with me - though I'm now a grown woman.
