Ingrid Goes West (2017)
love her from Parks & Rec - killin it here
Aubrey Plaza shows off some serious acting chops in this winner. She is creepy af and funny and charming at the same damn time. Her story is really sad, and then she uses her skills on Insta to get all up in this annoying as hell chick's life - an "influencer" - PUH -LEAZE. I was rooting for her character the whole time - and I HATED these privileged, dishonest "social media artists" / regular "artist" couple. I wanted them to BURN baby. Anyway, the movie is cool all along, and kept me guessing and interested (and the brother character is fine and hilarious too). The ending was dynamite. A refreshing take on social interaction.
Black Panther (2018)
YASSSSS KWEENS!
FINALLY! A movie that celebrates African heritage and contributions, and doesn't look down on all the beautiful art, culture, music and everything else this fine continent has produced. Everything about this movie was phenomenal. The special effects were obviously mind blowing, but the acting was the absolute best part. I never saw a comic book movie with this much powerhouse performances. They all did so good, I will see this movie again and again. I can't wait for sequels! Also so proud of Ryan Coogler for breaking all the stereotypes and painting the most gorgeous picture of African life, and everything it can be. Such a riveting story from start to end. LOVEDDDDDD
The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009)
I ain't the "B"!
This movie was funny as hell. I like the concept, and the way they experience the worst misery known to man. Who the hell came up with this idea? It's so sick, it is a classic for sure. What a weird guy they found to play the sick doctor. So the real question is this: you rather be the A, B or C? A is obviously the best (most air - and everybody eat your poo). C may seem like the worst, cause you eat all the poo - but B is def the worst, cause you stuck all over. No thank you. It a good way to make you think about philosophical stuff. I will never forget this movie - it haunts my dreams - which is what I want in a damn horror!
Parched (2017)
yet your drank on
Parched was all over the place fun - it start out slow and then goes wacky crazy nuts and they murder the hell out each other. I like the story, nice and simple, then it gets wild. The actors were all good at building up this insanity, bit by bit. The story goes like this: they go to an abandoned house to party in the woods, but the one guy "forgets" to pack the water. Later we find out it was a lunatic (hidden amongst them) who ditched the water so they have to drink from a stream to not dehydrate. The water seems fine, but it actually poisoned from a factory nearby. The factory belong to one of their dads it turn out at end. So they all lose their Sh*t and try to kill each other. The way each loses it is funny and different. I like they had an interracial couple too. So it turns out the one girl grew up in that house, and her family killed each other before, so she brought them all their for some cold ass revenge. The girl think she got away with it, but one wasn't dead and she drown her good in the stream. Full circle. I like how justice was served here - they all bad, they all dead.
Kill Kill Faster Faster (2008)
kill kill!
This movie is damn hot. Ok yes, the main dude is not all that likeable, but the passionate love scenes are creative and steamy as hell. Even the prison ones are legit hot. Or maybe I'm just kinda sick. But this really is a well acted and poetically shot movie - based on a little known but super tight book. I loved this film, which sends all kinds of messages and makes you think about loyalty in a way that will leave your jaw hanging open.
12 Monkeys (1995)
these some crazy monkeys
What in the sam hell just happened?? So Bruce Willis went back in time and saw hisself get killed? and that's what made him loco? This is such mind @$@# that I don't know where to begin. I loved it. Brad Pitt looking all fine as hell too, even as a looney tooney. I need to watch this again. And if see some damn giraffes running down the Brooklyn bridge, Imma be out.
