Who Is Erin Carter? (2023)
As Predictable As They Get
I guessed every major plot reveal of this show since episode 1. I countinued to guess everything else that came before it happened too.
I mean the show is fine, the preformances are great, the pace is good but the plot is something we've seen a million times before. Everything was set in a super obvious way and the fact that they covered every one of the clices in these type of movies/shows didn't help.
I would recommend watching If you like this type of shows but don't expect anything groundbreaking.
The finale wasn't really to my liking as the main bad guy was set up to be super scary only to dissapoint in a major way. You'd think that a person like that would be more ruthless. At the end they gave in the whole Netflix tratment.
Bad Sisters (2022)
Good, but too long to keep your attention
The show is good. It has an interesting premise, great performances and good writing.
My only problem is... it's too long.
The pacing is all over the place. The first 3 episodes managed to capture my attention in full but after a while, it was meaningless as I knew none of the stunts pulled was going to be the one that killed JP. So there was no suspense for me anymore. And I ended up skipping a couple of episodes just to get to the end.
And speaking of JP, we understood he was a bad guy from the first 4 episodes. Everything after that was overkill and made him seem fake in my opinion. He was just in your face bad.
So in short the premise captured my attention but didn't manage to keep it in full.
The Noel Diary (2022)
The story just doesn't work
This movie was not like all the other Christmas movies, I'll give it that. Still, it has a lot of red flags. The story is very interesting in the beginning and you want to find out what happens but as it progresses it gives you unsatisfying endings to ALL storylines in the movie.
The main character Rachel cheats on her fiancee with Jake and faces ZERO consequences. She keeps saying that her fiancee is a nice guy that treats her right and is dependable but still she doesn't think twice about betraying his trust and sleeping with a guy she's known for a couple of days. And doesn't even discuss the possibility of coming clean and how he would react to that.
She never gets the reunion with her birth mom and furthermore she keeps going on about needing stability but as I can tell she's grown up with loving parents that support her. So I get that she wants to know why her mother gave her up but staying with someone that she clearly doesn't love and respect for stability doesn't make any sense.
And also Jake, a guy that wants to stay alone all the time fell in love so deeply with a girl he just met like a week ago and is okay with her cheating on her fiancee with him?
And how exactly is this going to work? She is waiting to see If she got a job with a lot of travel and he has a demanding job with a lot of travel also. They don't even live in the same place!
Just NO on the ending and story in general.
The acting was good but the characters didn't have that much chemistry so it still turned out to be another disappointing Christmas movie (Although not as bad as many of them).
Esposa de Aluguel (2022)
Very over the top acting
The story is simple, you pretend to be in love so you fall in love for real.
What I really have a problem with is the acting and the type of humor. The leads act like idiots, the male lead acts like a spoilt baby and the female lead like a child. She doesn't take her job seriously being late, forgetting key details that they agreed on 2 days earlier and acting the same with all her clients no matter what is the situation.
I really think that this could have been an okay movie If it took itself a bit more seriously and not like it was made for children with the over-the-top acting, illogical and unrelatable storylines.
For me (who actually loves romantic movies) it was unwatchable.
