Game of Thrones (2011–2019)
6/10
Like others say, the ending ruined the show....
29 November 2020
I would have loved to give GoT a 10 star review-and I actually had it at that before season 8. Thing is, this isn't a show where the bad ending is disappointing, but the rest is still enjoyable. The ending actually tampers with the overall show. By knowing how poorly everything plays out, the other seasons and their characters' motivations seem pointless in the end. There have been several other shows with disappointing endings that left the rest of the show still good enough to recommend to friends Lost, Dexter, etc. With GoT, I could not in the right mind, recommend this to anyone. The feeling of disappointment is quite frankly immeasurable by television standards. I will admit, seasons 1 through 7 were thoroughly enjoyable in my opinion. There were moments that really had your heart pumping, characters you cared about, etc. The show just had a phenomenal look and feel. The 8th season really has no redeeming qualities. Like...even the fights looked awful. It's genuinely shocking how poorly it turned out. However, if you can handle the disappointment of the finale, then by all means watch the show. It's really amazing other than the ending. I just can't overall recommend it

Mafia: Definitive Edition (2020 Video Game)
10/10
Faithful, Brilliant Remake
26 September 2020
I am a huge fan of the mafia franchise. Especially 2 and 3. I had never played the original mafia. It was always a bit too expensive on steam, and I didn't feel that in the condition it was in, that it was worth it. The mafia franchise went dark after 2018. Mafia 3's reception was pretty negative. I personally thought it was a great game, while flawed. I was just worried we wouldn't be seeing anything soon. Then ya know, the rumors started spreading about mafia 4. We end up getting this masterpiece, and I ain't complaining. Mafia definitive edition is awesome. I got it for 40 dollars, and I feel I have ripped off the devs. The game is incredibly immersive and beautiful on my pc. Runs a smooth 60 fps on my gtx 1660, and the graphics are just extraordinary. The story itself is amazing after 18 years. Obviously, hangar 13 has spiced the story up after that time. It's very faithful to the original, and told in a much better, more modern way. The characters all sound and act fluently, and have distinct personalities. The dialogue is amazing. With some especially stand out scenes. The characters also look amazing. The lighting is so much better than in 3. The gameplay itself is awesome and exhilarating as well. There are some glitches, but I am sure they'll be fixed in time. On pc, the screen will freeze, and it can be quite annoying. Also, the cars can flicker very infrequently. A non technical thing I'm not crazy about is the free roam. I adore the map in all of its glory, but the free ride mode is underwhelming. There's no real interactivity. I honestly hope hangar 13 gives it a little more time. I do really feel they knocked it out of the park with this one tho. They had a rough start on the gaming industry, and imo, they've fully redeemed themselves. I just can't recommend this game anymore. It's worth the price and then some!

Göktasi (2018)
10/10
A misunderstood masterpiece
6 October 2019
Göktasi is in my opinion one of the most legendary films of our generation. The writing is just brilliant, and the deep political symbolism strikes deep to many who are willing to process it. What really shocked me about Göktasi was how low it was rated. Were people simply missing the hidden message of capitalism and how it is truly corrupt when pushed to its boundaries? I have to wonder if it's because the movie's considered a comedy. Maybe if the director called it a psychological horror film, it would have received a 9.7, but he made the mistake of taking his views to a deeper and more convoluted route, and calling it a comedy. Which was an absolute shame. I hope one day people will understand the symbolism behind this masterpiece and all of the fine acting and writing

Mafia II (2010 Video Game)
10/10
Still holds up
16 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I had a low end pc for the past few years so I had to get some low end games. Mafia 2 certainly appealed to me. I liked open world games, and I liked the whole 40s-50s theme, so I got it. The game is fantastic. The graphics certainly look good today, and the story, voice acting, and characters are fantastic. Probably the worst thing about mafia 2 is the gunplay. It feels pretty awkward, but considering it's 2011, I'll let it fly, so If you love story rich video games, then this is your best bet. I highly recommend you get mafia 2. I got it for 7 dollars on steam, I'm sure you can get it cheaper.

Pacific Rim (2013)
10/10
Not only a technological marvel, but a great movie
5 August 2019
Pacific Rim is one of my favorite movies. It has a great value of rewatch ability, and the special effects and music are some of the best of all time. Uprising wasn't the worst movie, but it didn't do the series justice. What Del Toro established was loosely based off of a lot of Japanese's comics and cartoons, but executed in an ultra realistic way. Everything from the water the Jaegers waded through to the epic fight scenes. Ramin Djwadi did an absolutely fantastic job with the ost. You may recognize him from iron man and game of thrones. The actors also did a great job. The lead actor was the weakest in my opinion. All of the supporting actors did a spectacular, though. (Charlie Day, Ron Perlman) I give this movie a 10 out of 10 mainly to balance things out. I believe it should be at least a 7.5 or 8.

Westworld (1973)
10/10
Still holds up
20 June 2019
I watched this movie a few months ago at about 10 p.m with commercials. Sadly, they don't show this flick on tv much anymore, so it was the best shot I had. When I finished it I was pleasantly surprised. Sure a lot of the visual effects don't hold up well, but the story is still good. I always admired Michael Crichton as a writer, and this is one of his best works in my opinion. Right under Jurassic Park for me. If you haven't seen Westworld I highly recommend you check it out.

Today is Spaceship Day (2019 Video)
10/10
Should be nominated for best picture!
14 June 2019
Just indescribable. Brilliant characters, beautifully crafted linear plot, and last but not least, fluid dialogue and humor. This is the 2019 equivalent to Romeo and Juliet in terms of a love story. I truly couldn't predict anything that happened. Hopefully we see a sequel!

Stranger Things (2016–2025)

A must watch
8 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, there were a few bad episodes, but in the big picture, this show comes up nearly perfect. Brilliant writing and characters. Suspenseful moments and cliffhangers. It's truly like no other. When I say there were a few bad episodes one in particular caught my eye. I'm talking about that stupid filler episode in season 2 where 11 meets the others. That was like the writing of a CW show (no offense) Other than that I didn't have any other problems. Definitely a must watch if you haven't seen it. Also, this show is like exactly the same as that one movie Super 8. I genuinely wonder how they got away with it?

Hilarious!
13 May 2019
I have to say the first episode was a bit disappointing, but I stuck with it. By episode 2 all the characters grew on me. I came to love these characters so much, the original what we do in the shadow's vampires seemed so distant. Just an amazing show!

Season 14, Episode 4

Solid Creative Episode
7 May 2019
This episode had some good laughs and more importantly a darker more creative theme. So far this season's been pretty consistent with laughs. It's definitely getting closer to quality like some of the original seasons.
