Generation Hustle (2021)
Okay for the most part
Some of the episodes were ehh. The biggest disappointment with HBO is the fact they air an episode about someone who is still scamming people using means of viral success. Talk about free advertising. Not exactly sure who at HBO decided that was a good idea.
Dark Places, Deadly Illusions (2021)
Netflix has completely turned into an embarrassment
One of ALL of the latest from Netflix. Shut it off after 10 minutes. Wow, just wow.
Murder Among the Mormons (2021)
Ability to deceive
Not great to highlight the ability to deceive people that do not believe in evolution. The docu makes you feel terribly sad for how behind mankind can possibly be. Ponzi scheming a religion via books and pieces of paper is just sad for all parties involved...... There will always be victims and always be bad guys. Don't live by a fairytale and you might be better prepared for reality.
Seuwiteuhom (2020)
Do they intentionally make the characters look dumb?
How are people this slow and weak? Makes it very painful to watch. Character build up is lacking, hard to follow... And did I mention the characters are made to look slow, weak, and dumb? If this is addicting it is only because there has literally been NOTHING good on NF in a while.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Not a dud, but not good
I guess if we measure this up against what entertainment options we've had lately, this was great. If you were looking for the same fireworks you saw with The Haunting of Hill House, it predictably falls short.
It was not slow churn scary like Hill House, the story line was confusing, the pieces were not strategically placed, and the accents made it hard to follow along.
I watched the Hill House season 4 times. This one, I gave up on twice and finally forced myself to binge finish... It was just not perfectly splendid.
Horse Girl (2020)
Mental illness PSA
I am sure this is a great film for those that have suffered with mental illness or know someone who has. It just wasn't something I could relate to and therefore for me it was absolutely terrible. I was hoping for something supernatural or a mystery, but this was not it.
The Irishman (2019)
Retirement Home Breakout of the Year
Looks like the cast of Cocoon got another movie opportunity. Special effects unfortunately don't cover up denture slippage and wobbles, but other than that the movie is okay.
Apostle (2018)
The Village meets The Terror
Slow, pointless, and nothing you haven't seen before. Zero character building and lazy payoff. I really hoped for better.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Excellent!
I only have 1 episode left and am sad to see it come to an end 😥. Netflix has been such a flop lately, but this? This was a home run! I hope they have a season 2, but am not sure it would be able to hold it's own next to this one.
