Highway to Sell (2014)
Unreality Show
This is another example of an automotive restoration show with fake drama. The basic plan is to acquire and restore old cars in rough shape to make a profit. However, elements of this are fabricated beyond reason. As with all programs of this type, the episodes are heavily edited to meet a 43-minute length. The 3 or 4 guys that do the work set a ridiculous completion time of 3 to 7 days in which they completely fix all the issues with the body, paint the car, completely restore the interior and exterior, either fix or replace the motor, and detail the engine bay. It is utter nonsense. Who do I have to talk to create my own nonsense show? I'd like to make $50K per episode.
Longmire (2012)
Excellent Series!
Robert Taylor does and outstanding job of presenting an American lawman in the least populated western state of Wyoming. The entire cast draws the viewer in as their characters unfold. I liked it so much that I'm re-watching it for the 4th time!
There are a few minor Hollywoodisms, though. Wyoming has the fewest firearm ownership laws in the US and US Territories. There are instances where their investigations refer to registered guns. Guns are not registered there. Any person who is not prohibited from owning a gun may do so. A Wyoming resident may carry a handgun openly or concealed without a permit (it's called Constitutional Carry); they must be 21 or older. 18 year olds may purchase long guns. Gun dealers are not required to perform state or Federal background checks (NICS). They also have the main character criss-crossing the entire state in a matter of an hour or so from his fictional county. If you look at a map, you'll see very few highways (only 3 Interstates & a few US highways). They also have him entering Native American Reservations in areas where they don't actually exist. I'm not sure why the location was New Mexico, unless they got a better deal to shoot the episodes there.
