I Am Legend (2007)
One of the best movies ever......
Oh my God! This movie is an amazing peace of cinema. When I first saw the trailer for this movie I had no doubt in my mind that it wouldn't be a disappointment. And I was right. This movie was great on every level. The acting was phenomenal, visual effects awesome, storyline great, and did a great job on always making your eyes stick to the screen. Just the fact that this whole thing started out with good intentions and it turned into what it has become is just sad. I Am Legend is one of Will Smith's best peaces of work, acting wise. Even though he talks to a dog most of the time; you can just see his emotion and rage and sorrow in his words and face. All around this movie has to be the best mainstream movie this year. Go see it, i highly recommend it. 10/10.
August Rush (2007)
So cool
At first I just wanted to see this film because Robin Williams was in it. But Freddie Highmore, who I first saw in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was very good. I also saw him in Finding Neverland he was great in that also. In August Rush he didn't really have as much negative emotion as he did in Finding Neverland. Keri Russell was surprisingly good as her character , Lyla Novacek. I've only seen her in one movie Mission Impossible 3 and she really did have a big enough part in that movie for me to judge her on her acting. But now that I really saw what she could do, she at least deserves a Golden Globe. Same with Freddie, Golden Globe. Mybe even an Oscar. He's so young but it's like his roles come naturally to him. Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who I've seen in several movies and a little bit in the Showtime series The Tutors. He did another great job. Better than all of the films I've seen him in. Robin Williams was awesome, (he's not the character you would think him to be). As an acting veteran he was mainly the big guy on campus in this film. Go see this movie, It's a tear jerker. 9/10.
Hitman (2007)
Very very good
This film was amazing. It was suspenseful, kind of funny, and a good cast. What I really liked about this film was that it stuck to the game in a lot of areas. Not like what they did with the Resident Evil series. A lot of Agent 47 characteristics from the game were in the film and how they kept the wardrobe of 47 in the movie was cool. The film's score was also surprisingly good. I thought it would have been some white rock band music though out the whole movie, but it was well done and stuck to the theme/tone of the movie. Timothy Olyphant did a great job getting into this character. It was also cool how he sacrificed his head of hair for the role of Agent 47. Olga Kurylenko did great as the damsel in distress, but she was strong in a way too. The relationship between the two was very cool. In all Hit-man is a entertaining movie, action movie, mystery, and emotional movie. If you like the game you'll love the movie. And if you like the movie you'll like the game. 9/10.
Ocean's Thirteen (2007)
Out does 11 and 12
This has to be the best Ocean's movie yet. The acting was great, the story line was kind of confusing at some points but once it got to the actual heist it all came together. I also liked the fact that Eddie Izzard had a bigger part in 13 than 12. I enjoyed how all of main characters showed up more. It wasn't about George Clooney or Brad Pitt, and all of the character's area of expertise came out with more umph. There are a lot of surprise parts with the returning of a lot characters, how they're going to pull the robbery off, and if one of the characters is going to survive something bad that happened to him. In the end this movie surpasses 11 and 12. It's good for a laugh, entertainment, and fun. 10/10.
Knocked Up (2007)
Every one said this movie was hilarious. But.........
It's not.
It was OK. Not great, but definitely not good. It had it's funny moments. But after those moments it just dragged and dragged. The acting was good, the story was good, but the writing on the jokes wasn't good at all. The movie had good moral in what the movie meant. But it just wan't strong enough to make me laugh a lot. I like how they brought all of the comedians that work together in movies a lot together. It was a cute movie. And if it wasn't for all of the cussing ant the drugs and the porn ha ha. It would have made a great family movie. I just got kind of bored of the movie really fast. Every one I knew was saying it was so funny. But i have to disagree with them. It's just a cute movie. 6/10.
28 Weeks Later (2007)
I saw this movie last night, and I have one thing to say.......
OMG!!! It was so amazing! Such an improvement from the first one. The first one kind of dragged and slowed up and sped down and did that the rest of the movie. But 28 Weeks Later never dragged or slowed down. I was mesmerized the whole film. There were so many twists and turns and changes in the story line. I thought that the movie would be a little tarnished b/c they put kids in it. But man was it good. I have to say that the beginning was the best part of the whole film, but the whole movie was excellent. I loved every minute of it. The acting was good, the story line was even better, and the action was even better than that. This movie is officially on my favorites. 10/10.
Halloween (2007)
One of the re-makes that sucks sh@^!!!!
OK, I'm 16 years old. But despite my age I have seen the original Halloween. And I have to say that this film is crap. At first I liked the movie, but after I thought about it I realized this movie sucks. The 1978 original was really a 70's movie, the actresses were pretty for that time. But now they're average looking to us now. They weren't skin and bone skinny they had some meat on their bones and they wore clothes that weren't that revealing. But in this 2007 Halloween it really showed how far Hollywood has sunk. The actresses in the 07 version were so skinny they looked the twigs, they wore clothes that showed almost everything. But granted in this remake it took place in present day. The actress that played Lorie Strode has this high pitched annoying ass voice that made me wanting her to die. And I kid you not, every girl that was killed in the 07 version showed their boobs at one point in the film. The only reason I give this movie a 7 is b/c that it was more about Micheal than Lorie. Lorie was just more of a target. And the other reason is b/c Malcolm McDowell played Dr. Loomis, he's one of my favorite actors. So 7/10.
Across the Universe (2007)
Music was good but.......
Why does every one like this movie?! I saw this movie for my friend's b-day. I asked her b4 we went into the theater "what movie we seeing?" "across the universe." she replied. "all right. cool." But the thing that i never knew was that this movie was a musical. I like some musicals, but not this one. The music was good and the parts when they were singing them were good too. But the movie, as a movie it SUCKED TO HIGH HEAVEN!!! Oh my God! I wanted to rip my face off in the theater, I would rather listen to the soundtrack without seeing the film. The acting was good and so was everything else in the acting. But the movie went no where, it had no plot, it just felt like they were trying to put in as many Beatals hits into a film. The reason i give this movie a 2 rating was b/c my favorite comedian was in the film, Eddie Izzard. That part in the film when he sang Being for the Benifit of Mr. Kite was the only part that was actually cool. But if he wasn't in Across the Universe I would give it a 1 rating. My final conclusion is that this movie wasn't worth a $12 ticket. Not even worth $20 on DVD.
King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie (2005)
I've Got To Say.... Not Bad
when games come out based on a big budget film the usually suck terribly. like the graphics a re terrible, the sound sucks, the voices aren't even the actors' voices. but i got news for you:this game blew them all away! man this game was a blast! the graphics was great, the sound was kool, but the thing i really liked about it was that the exact same cast from the movie voiced their character in the game!! which almost never happens. the only thing that i didn't like about this game is that it didn't really follow the line of the movie. it was more like the original with a different cast. which was kool but i would have perferd it if it actually followed the movie. but w/e i enjoyed it and so will you
Casino Royale (2006)
OMG!!!! best bond so far
wow this guy blows them all away, ex. Sean Connery. But OMG!!!!!!!!!!! Daniel Craig, fantastic. His acting, face, and his eyes do it all. but i think it's good that they found some1 who actually had the body to do the physical stunts that he did in this film. But not only is this actor the best, this has got to be the bet Bond movie. In a good way; it was soo different. In camera angles, his relationship with the women, how he operated, and how he could really kick the living crap out of people. I just think that this is the best Bond actor/movie yet. You might disagree with me but you're entitled to your opinion. but just let it be known that you have to see this movie!!!
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
Rent it. Then... Watch it. Then... HEAR YOUR HART PUMP!!!!!
I've seen the original, and that one was great. I saw this 1 a couple of days ago. And OMGx49!!!!! probably the greatest suspense movie i've ever seen!!!! at first had low expectations b/c it was made in the 70's (most movies back then had really bad acting). But man was I wrong!! the acting was fantastic!!! the cast was amazing, it had back then small time actors but now those actors r huge. Jeff goldbloom Donald Sotherland Lenord Nemoy (who was already famous back then b/c of Star Trek) The reason y it was so suspenseful was b/c u didn't know who to trust and who got changed or if the aliens are going to catch them or not. just watch it!!!!! u'll love it!!!
