Velma (2023– )

Mindy Kaling Hates You
22 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show is straight up bad. There is nothing redeemable in the script of this show. I am not caring that they switch the races of all the beloved characters of Scooby-Doo name, I don't care that they are really pushing the writing for Valma to be a lesbian with Daphne, I don't care about the political issues people have about the show. The writing is just horrible. The way the show progresses and plays itself out is obnoxious.

Velma just is just an unlikeable cocky brat who thinks she is clever and she constantly tries to sound smart.

Norville is kind of a push over and doesn't really have anything to him except that he simps for Velma (don't know why, she is very unlikeable) and is against the use of drugs, though, there could be a bit of character development for that, but that can only go so far.

Daphne is just a copy of a character from the movie Mean Girls, but even more shallow.

Fred is, like the other characters, unlikeable. He is the insecure pretty boy who the writers like to tease for having a small penis. Really spits in the face of body positivity. They made Fred helplessly dumb to the point he can't use a fork and knife.

None of the characters interact with each other well, and feels really fake. The fact that Norville breaks the fourth wall just to drive home the fact his character hates drugs. Velma and Daphne hate each other and by the second episode they have a passionate kiss. There wasn't any build up, there wasn't any feeling. It just kinda happens. They could have saved this for later and had it part of character development. I know they did this give LGBT+ representation, but if it is forced, its not worth it in my opinion (I am a lesbian myself).

Mindy also throws a insult into the face of the audience.

Reaching for laughs
8 May 2020
They just started repairing it on Comedy Central and I thought I'd give a shot while working. I already had a pre-existing idea of Amy Schumer not being funny from her stand up, and this isn't changing my opinion of her comedy. This sketch comedy show is very bland and seems to be trying to force jokes out with randomness and sexual humor. There doesn't seem to really be a punchline out of those two options for the show. It structures itself like an episode of Robot Chicken, but it tries to keep itself in a semi-reality form where the jokes all revolve around her trying too hard to be funny and jokes about her love live that doesn't seem to do anything.

This is a must see!
1 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
If you are one who likes any of Tarantino's other films or if you really like well designed movies than this is something you have to see! This movie was very well done and is incredibly interesting.

Tarantino really does take the whole movie back in time and makes it feel completely like it is 1969. Brad Pitt's acting was very top notch and DiCaprio's is so interesting.

This movie does start off kinda slow, but very charming about it. Throughout the movie it just keeps building up and up and up! Leading to an ending that completely surprised me. If you know how the Tate murder happened and are expecting it than you will be surprised by this twist they pull out at the last second. (Fictional ending)

Very mixed...
6 July 2019
I have an extremely mixed opinion on this show. I love the art and the character design of this show. It has a unique look and the voice actors fit very much as their characters. It does have some funny moments and even knows how ridiculous it can be at times and it becomes quite charming.

My problem with the show is that it doesn't have good stories, and doesn't use what it has to really make it a better show. The show really throws you in seeming to expect you to know everything about this show as if it wasn't the first season. None of the motives tend to be clear and who the character are and what their deeper personality. The characteristics of the characters are very suffice level.

This has got to be one bad acid trip!
9 May 2019
Where to begin talking about this show? Let's start with the animation is... for lack of a better term, is just horrible. I know that is what they are going for, but when Adult Swim needs to learn that "it's so bad it's good!" Idea can only be used so many times before you are kicking the dead horse.

The story is just a mess and I sit there thinking about how dumb and pointless it is. Some guy just goes around playing tennis and some detective looking dude is just poking around.

Best way to sum up the whole show is, a hand full of guys sitting in a room drunk and high as hell just coming up with random things to make a semi coherent story and they just keep slapping random things on top one after the other. This show is just a and obnoxious drug trip.

Watered down Family Guy
11 September 2018
Going to just flat out say it, this show is boring. Just finished watching it and all it felt like if you took the worse parts of Family Guy and gave them life.

I found no one to be funny, but rather annoying. The most annoying character has got to be Becky. Becky is voiced by the same person who does Lois from Family Guy, but with the annoying shouting voice she does for unattractive women in the show. Becky is also a stereotypic feminist is obnoxious about it, she even tried to remake the word "boycott" to the world "girlcott" to push down and rise up women in society.

No one is funny in the show, this show is not funny. I know comity is subjective, but that's just me and everyone else who rated this show lowly.

Is it Harry Potter, Lord or the Rings, Bad Boys?
31 August 2018
Just finished watching this move and through out the movie I am confused as to what movie it wants to be. It tries to be serious, but I can't, it is just WAY to stupid of a concept.

Imagine watching Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and any conspiracy cop movie while drunk and you get this movie.

The writing is just really bad, but what are we to suspect or the writer of some really bad movies. The only actor who is able to deliver his lines is Will Smith, but I sit there an I feel embarrassed to think he did this movie.

The director gives off this generic grim look to the film, almost like a Hell Boy movie, but not nearly as good. Some shots look really bad to the point you think they shot it on an $40 camera.

The CGI and special effects aren't the worse, but give seem like they were done by someone who learned a few tricks. Make up is okay, but it really goes down hill when they do black vains on Tikka's face and body.

Overall don't recommend the movie unless you want to get really REALLY drunk.

Couldn't get into it.
27 August 2018
I just watched the first few episodes of the show and I was just so bored. While watching the show I just found myself looking at my phone more often then the actual show.

The character's were unfunny and very one demisional. There wasn't any personality. At times I really felt annoyed listening to them speak, especially when the character McGuirk was in the scene. The lines were just overlapping each other to the point I was annyed trying to fully process what the people were saying. Everyone delivered their lines with the most monotoned voice they could imagine.

In the first couple of minutes of the show we quickly understand the random stupidity of the show when McGuirk talks about getting drunk and getting two regrettable tattoos.

The animation of the show felt very low budget and no skill and I'm not saying it is a bad thing, but I am saying it is there. I understand when they are going for a unique art style, but if you really want to sell it to me, the writing of the show can't be on the same quality of the art.
