This show is straight up bad. There is nothing redeemable in the script of this show. I am not caring that they switch the races of all the beloved characters of Scooby-Doo name, I don't care that they are really pushing the writing for Valma to be a lesbian with Daphne, I don't care about the political issues people have about the show. The writing is just horrible. The way the show progresses and plays itself out is obnoxious.
Velma just is just an unlikeable cocky brat who thinks she is clever and she constantly tries to sound smart.
Norville is kind of a push over and doesn't really have anything to him except that he simps for Velma (don't know why, she is very unlikeable) and is against the use of drugs, though, there could be a bit of character development for that, but that can only go so far.
Daphne is just a copy of a character from the movie Mean Girls, but even more shallow.
Fred is, like the other characters, unlikeable. He is the insecure pretty boy who the writers like to tease for having a small penis. Really spits in the face of body positivity. They made Fred helplessly dumb to the point he can't use a fork and knife.
None of the characters interact with each other well, and feels really fake. The fact that Norville breaks the fourth wall just to drive home the fact his character hates drugs. Velma and Daphne hate each other and by the second episode they have a passionate kiss. There wasn't any build up, there wasn't any feeling. It just kinda happens. They could have saved this for later and had it part of character development. I know they did this give LGBT+ representation, but if it is forced, its not worth it in my opinion (I am a lesbian myself).
Mindy also throws a insult into the face of the audience.
