Joe Pickett (2021)
Love the books, like the series
Honestly, I appreciate the effort to stay close to the characters & storyline - this production has done it much bettter than most book to film adaptations but I was shocked to see Nate. The actor is giving it his best shot but casting a big beefy African American to play the part of a tall, wiry, white ex special forces guy is jarring when you know the books. Kind of like casting Tom Cruise as 6'5" Jack Reacher, it just doesn't really work. Someone like Eric Christian Olsen would have been a much closer physical fit. And Missy really needs to be more of a snobby bitch, but all in all, i'm hoping that there wil be more than 10 episodes. It's a good start.
Supernatural: Carry On (2020)
Powerful ending that brought tears
SPN told us for 15 years exactly how this story would end: Dean always believed he'd have a short life ending in violence, where Sam saw a light at the end of the tunnel & a way out of the life.
Scenes that broke my heart:
1.) The good-bye scene between Sam & Dean was so masterfully done that were I in charge of TV awards, Jared & Jensen would win co Best Actors, hands down.
2.) The lights going off in the bunker when Sam left on his first hunting trip after he lost Dean. Did he ever go back?
3.) Seeing Sam's life journey roll past while Dean & Baby roll down Heaven's back roads. (My heart broke a little more when I saw how Dean's eyes lit up when he realized that Baby made it to Heaven)
I do want to know if Sam married a hunter & raised little Dean in the life (given the anti possession tat on his arm) or if he was being practical & told his son about the monsters that were out there & that he needed the protection.
Are there monsters in heaven? Bobby told Dean that anything & everything that he could want or even dream of could be part of their heaven, so, will our boys get bored after a while with no work to do?
I can see the family gathering in heaven that would have taken place except for Covid, & do miss what could have been.
Good-bye, boys, & thank you for a wild ride. Hope we get to see Sam & Dean stop by for another visit someday!
50 to 1 (2014)
Fun movie with excellent cast!
Even though I knew the ending, it was still a really exciting movie to watch! I very much enjoyed the look at all the events that happened behind the scenes that transpired to bring Bird to the Winner's Circle!
