I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020)
Laughed all the way through it.
It was simply a long, slow train wreck. Nothing makes sense and hilarity ensues. The Pauline Kael references and quotes are, at a minimum, esoteric and inaccessible. But, as I said, it is a jolly fun ride.
I just have no clue whatsoever what it was about. Or why.
Kodachrome (2017)
Can't finish.
OMG. Yet another road movie where people who don't like each other eventually reconcile after lots of film worthy conflict. Big yawn. Ed Harris and Jason Sudeikas-despite all their star power-can't rescue this tired trope. That dad is dying and the kid is on the cusp of unemployment, which, apparently can be forestalled if the dad and the kid can just get along one last time, doesn't help. Pretty sure there's a rescue moment at the end where heart strings are pulled and the whole tired trope is redeemed. But I won't last that long in this 90 minute snooze fest. I need my sleep.
Wish You Well (2013)
Horrible
Treacly and not worth the time it takes to watch the trailer, the plot line is hardly worthy of the sixth grade reading level to which it panders. Ugh. After watching that I need a shower.
