A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Watch it for the experience
If you liked the first one you will like this one too.
Great acting of the kids, Cilian Murphy improves the casting and Emily Blunt is great as always.
The story is good, some scenes are tense but as a thriller I think the first one still is the best film, but both really good.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Masterpiece
In every sense of word, a Masterpiece.
Go watch it and do yourself a favour, I can't believe how happy I am with it but let's analyse it.
Let's start by erasing the 2017 version.
Everything about this movie makes him one of the best superhero films ever made, it's perfect for the genre and meanwhile it's also a great great flick.
The Story is very well told, the characters have a great background, expecially Cyborg which is the heart of the film, Darkseid is terrifying, just his voice is enough to make you want more of him, Steppenwolf is one of the best DCEU villains, it's a villain who has a good motivation to do what he does and behind that big armor you can feel a certain fragility, Ben Affleck is great as Batman, we see a more leader type of the character, Gal Gadot is good as Wonder Woman and she rocks with her new theme and action scenes, Ezra Miller does a cringy Barry Allen, but he shines in some scenes, very potential to his solo film, Jason Mamoa is even more badass as Aquaman, Ray Fisher delivers a great performance as Cyborg and makes you think it's a crime what they've done to his past version, Henry Cavill has just a few scenes but he's good as always, I hope we will see more of him in potential sequels.
From the Supporting cast I need to say that Amber Heard is such a badass Mera, I want to see more of her and of course, Jared Leto as Joker, God I want soo much that he continues in the paper, Leto shines in his scene, it's Incredible, give him more content and he will reach the level of Heath and Pheonix.
The ending of the Film is in my opinion one of the best ever in the genre and opens soo many doors to future sequels, we need to get WB to do them, it's like we've just seen the tip of the Iceberg, I want the whole thing up.
Besides that the Cinematography is excellent and the Soundtrack is good expecially the new Wonder Woman and Man of Steel Superman's themes.
With all that I hope that Warner Bros will Restore The Snyder Verse.
The Invisible Man (2020)
Watch this film
To my surprise, this is a really good movie, in the first 10 minutes you are absorbed into the story and your heart starts to beat faster than normal and as the events go on the tension goes up and up until a moment when you think it will calm down and it gets even worse (whoever saw the movie knows what I'm talking about), in the end I even questioned what I was watching. The music is present in a few scenes but when it is, it helps a lot in the atmosphere and the performances were also very solid, mainly by Elizabeth Moss who surprised me. It is a smart and well executed story, hopefully we had more films like this. Surprise!
The Hateful Eight (2015)
Better than I thought
Tarantino is one of the best directors ever and only he is able to make a film almost entirely in a cabin and yet all the scenes have a tension and joke and it is so difficult to predict what will happen next. However the film is slow and honestly there were scenes in which I had a bit of a hard time keeping up, but from the moment the it starts to happen, the film is so much more fun that there are scenes where I started laughing of stupidity and blood, as well as other aspects such as Photography and Music in the film are phenomenal, as are the performances mainly by Samuel L Jackson, Jennifer Lason Leigh and Walton Goggins.
1917 (2019)
Maybe the best one of the year. Best Picture Incoming.
2019 was one of the best years for cinema I have ever seen and 1917 is one of the best of the year, if not the best, it deserves all the praise that is having, due to several factors, if possible watch it on IMAX, the experience is completely unforgettable, there are scenes in that we are in the skin of the characters and the cinematography of Roger Deadkins makes all the difference, Oscar for sure in this category, there are some emotional scenes where the music is magnificent and the performances of both main actors, mainly George Mackay. In other words, a cinematic masterpiece.
Knives Out (2019)
Agatha Christie's inspiration
Honestly the movie wasn't that hard to predict but still, it's a great movie, it's super fun, it has comedy, it has tense moments, great performances especially from Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas that I think that deserves a nomination to Best supporting actress, in short there is a mix of factors that make this movie one of the best of 2019, I don't know if it will get a Best Picture nomination, but in my opinion it deserves it.
Ford v Ferrari (2019)
A Experience that makes me want to know more about cars.
Seeing this movie in the cinema is another thing, in the racing parts it is as if we were driving. Christian Bale makes an excellent performance, for me deserving of Oscar nomination, Matt Damon and Jon Bernthal perform as always, as the rest of the actors. Briefly one of the best movies of 2019, we highly recommend watching at the cinema.
Jojo Rabbit (2019)
What a Film, Uau...
Taika Waititi deserves nomination for best director and best supporting actor, all actors, but I repeat ALL actors give excellent performance, the kid did the best performance I've ever seen from a boy his age, the girl has a great future in Hollywood and Scarlett Johanson is showing us more and more that she is more than a Blockbuster actress and in my opinion deserves to win this year Oscar for best lead actress. Being honest, it was one of the few films that made me feel so empathetic with the supporting characters, it's tragic but hilarious at the same time. Without doubt one of the best this year. 10/10
Uncut Gems (2019)
Not even close to Good Time
I didn't hate this movie but I certainly didn't like it either. I don't know if it was the story that didn't captivate me, but I can say that I looked away several times unlike when I saw Good Time that stuck me to the screen all the time. What stands out most here is Adam Sandler's interpretation that although in my opinion he does not deserve the Oscar nomination due also to this year's great competition and also considering that Robert Pattinson was still better in 2017, Sandler gave his best performance of all I saw. 6/10
