Great adventure film, but too darn short!
4 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
The only problem I have with this movie is that it's not long enough. Other than that, it's worth watching. There is some questionable language, but if you know where it is, you can always mute it if you want to.

***Spoilers Galore!***

12-year-old David Freeman has a very annoying little brother - Jeff, who I guess is 8 years old. One night, I think on the Fourth of July, Jeff scares David so much, David has finally had it. But before he could get revenge, he falls down a cliff. When he wakes up, he's still 12 years, but in the year 1986. Through several adventures, he finally finds the source to something very strange, a spaceship, and the pilot is a strange-looking machine b y the name of Max. Max gathers information in David's brain, and after many adventures, David wants to return home to the right year, 1978. But Max is hesitant, saying that it would be too dangerous. When David persists, Max finally does so. You'll have to watch it for yourself to find out if David survives.

Like I said above, it's not long enough, but if you're in the mood for a short non-animated movie, this is the one to pick.

My Score: 7/10.

Robin Hood (1973)
8/10
Great animation, OK story
2 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
*Contains a very minor spoiler*

Robin Hood is one of the greatest Disney films made, and I applaud Disney for their effort.

The story is a little different than what I expected. I knew it would have a happy ending, but I didn't get exactly what I expected. I'm glad that I didn't, because it would have had to have been 20 or so minutes longer otherwise. And a movie that is too long is not always a good thing, with the exception of the LOTR trilogy, which I love.

That said, the voice cast is super. Brian Bedford as Robin Hood and Phil Harris - Baloo in The Jungle Book - (RIP) as Little John. They were the best in the cast, and did their parts well. I can't remember any other voices, except George Lindsay who did Trigger's voice, one of the vultures. I mention him only because he appears on my favorite TV show, "The Andy Griffith Show" as Goober, Gomer's cousin.

Anyway, Robin Hood is a great film. I recommend to people of all ages.

My Score: 8/10.

The movie was great, but I object to the language
2 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I did enjoy this movie when I first watched it. The story was excellent, and Haley Joel Osment's role as Walter was done very well. Michael Caine and Robert Duvall did very well, too.

But I object to one thing: the language. The foul language that Caine and Duvall use. I do not mind them using clean language, but to use the language as often as they did was very annoying.

The flashback scenes were done well, and though I cannot remember any other actor in the movie, I must say that it is a good story.

**Spoilers begin here** Walter is a shy boy, and is sent by his very irresponsible mother to stay with his two great-uncles for the summer, who appear at first to object the boy's presence. But soon, they start talking, and before you know it, Garth tells Walter amazing stories about himself and Hub when they were younger.

They eventually begin to plant a garden, and many other things happen that I can't say without spoiling it. But I'll say that Walter's mother shows up later to take Walter away, bringing with her a very mean and vicious man, and they claim that Garth and Hub are robbers and murderers. But May, Walter's mother, had lied to Walter so many times, he didn't know who to believe. But eventually, he makes the farm his permanent home.

It could have received at least a 9 from me if it weren't for all the language, but it loses that many points for it.

My Score: 7/10.

Hannity & Colmes (1996–2008)
They actually tell the TRUTH
1 May 2006
I absolutely love this show. There is none other like it. Sean Hannity is a truth teller, unlike some people I know. I listen to his daily talk show, and I watch his one-hour program.

I see so many things on this show, it's shocking that no other news program talks about as well. Why don't they? It's because they are afraid to tell the real truth.

There's no reason not to like this show if you are a Conservative. Conservatives do just what their name says: Conserves. Liberals don't do that.

Sean Hannity is a great American. If people even bother to watch this show every day as I have, they will soon learn the truth about American values. 10/10.

Super Mario Bros. 3 (1988 Video Game)
Great game!
19 April 2006
I love playing this game. Now that we have a real Gameboy, you can actually save your game and play more of it later. It's impossible to play the entire game, without skipping any of the lands, in only a few hours.

In the Nintendo version, you have to play everything at once. It's hard to win the game then, especially if you have a limited time on the game.

I actually finished this game recently. I played all seven worlds, plus Dark land, which was very difficult, and finished every level by myself. It wasn't easy, especially the final level when you have to defeat Bowser. That took me a long time to do.

But if you like a challenge, this is the game to play.

10/10.

Myst IV: Revelation (2004 Video Game)
Great music!
14 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I just finished this game yesterday. The music is absolutely stunning.

I really like Yeesha. Just remember, don't let her beetles go. She'll get pretty ticked off.

There is no need to go the Haven if you've already played the game. However, if you're playing for the first time, you must go there. There's a something you do in Haven that you need to know in Serynia.

Befoe you go to Dream, be sure to get a spirit guide. You can be wind or water. In every game it's different, so don't assume you're wind when you can be water, or vise versa.

*Spoiler below* Just remember, things are not always as they seem. Near the end, you go inside the old harvester. There you see Yeesha locked in a chair. You're given a choice of pulling a silver or a bronze lever. I won't say which one to pull; that will be up to you.

When you first start the game, listen to Atrus talking when he's writing his letter to you. The music is very dramatic, and it is done well.

Gilligan's Island (1964–1992)
The Best short-lived comedy ever
30 March 2006
I am amazed that this series only lasted three years. It's one of few that I will watch without having to worry about bad language. Here's a review of the castaways: Gilligan is the first-mate of the S.S. Minnow. He can be aggravating at times, but often it is him that comes up with good ideas, only to foul them up unintentionally.

The Skipper, whose name is revealed only once as Jonas Grumby, is a little overweight. Whenever Gilligan begins to annoy him, the Skipper just hits him on the head with his hat. I also love it when the Skipper looks directly at the camera at times.

Mr. Thurston Howel III is a multi-millionaire. All he ever does, it seems, is lie around and talk about his money. Though he denies it, he is obsessed with money. His one weakness: his teddy bear.

Mrs. Eunice "Lovey" Howell III is the wife of Mr. Howell. Of the seven, she's the oldest. (I think she is, anyway.) She comes up with some amazing ideas at times.

Professor Roy Hinkley. THough his name is never revealed, that's his name. He's the smartest one of the lot, and sometimes his ideas are often messed up by Gilligan. Whenever you want or need something made, the Professor often can find something to make it out of.

Ginger Grant is a movie star, and the movies that she was in have bizarre titles. None of them sound good, but hey, you can't win 'em all. Ginger is someone who can seduce men into giving her information. She's really good at it, and often gets carried away.

Mary Ann Summers is the only one of the seven who seems normal to me. A farm girl from Kansas, she likes listening to the radio a lot. Nothing wrong with that, right? Well, not if it's a soap opera she's listening to.

Overall, this is one dandy show you don't want to miss.

Bambi (1942)
10/10
Cute Movie
27 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the best movies of ALL TIME! I love the cute voices of Bambi, Flower, and Thumper. This is currently on my Top 30 Favoite movies! WARNING!!! ***Spoilers ahead*** Bambi is a cute, adorable movie about a deer who is born in the forest. He makes friends with Thumper, a funny bunny who's father always taught him well. Later, Bambi's mother is killed by humans, who we never see. His father brings him up (watch Bambi II for details). He meets Feline, a friend from his youth. There is a weird "dream" scene, but it's not very easy to describe. Watch the movie with popcorn! And soda while you're at it.

Great movie
27 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I don't even like football, but this is one of few football-based movies that I enjoyed.

I think this movie deserved an Oscar for the great movie that it is. Based on a true story, "Remember the Titans" is a uplifting experience.

It begins with a coach of a low-down high school football team. Coach Boone (Denzel Washington) and Coach Yoast (Will Patton) are combining blacks and whites; many people were racist back then, and the coaches wanted to put an end to that.

Thanks to hard training, the boys finally made a great team, and that team won the state championship. Earlier, after a previous win, one of the jocks was involved in a fatal car accident. He lived for ten years after that.

This is a great movie. Watch it if you like football.

Ben-Hur (1959)
9/10
Pefect movie . . . almost
27 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I really can't think of any flaws in this movie, as I haven't seen it for years, but I do remember the brilliant performance of Oscar Winner Charlton Heston (The Ten Commandments). He meets an old friend, and his friend, Quinton Arrius, invites him to do something that Ben-Hur refuses to do. I don't remember what the offer involved, but it was not something good. Soon, they separate, and become bitter enemies.

Circumstances lead Ben-Hur and Arrius to a great chariot race, and while Ben-Hur's mother and two sisters have leprosy, Ben-Hur prepares for the great race. Arrius, unfortunately, is cheating. His chariot has sharp spikes attached to the wheels, and, while moving, when it touched another moving chariot, it would cut into the wheel and disable the chariot.

Ben-Hur, of course wins the race, and Arrius is badly injured. Before he dies, he tells Ben-Hur about his family. Ben-Hur finds his mother and two sisters, and they are later healed by Jesus, before he is crucified.

This is a great movie, and I highly recommend it for people who love action movies.

Delightful.
27 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This movie, starring Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner, is a classic above many movies. Based on the story of Moses and the great exodus out of Egypt, it will be remembered as one of few movies that is closest to a true story. Though it probably didn't happen the way it was portrayed in this movie, the events surrounding the events actually happened.

Moses is a Hebrew, but doesn't know it. Upon finding out the truth, he leaves Egypt, and tears later, returns to Egypt to ask Remisis, who was a king, or as they call it, a Pharough, to let the Hebrews go. THe Hebres had been slaves for many years, and it was time to let them go. At first, Remisis refused. But then, after his own son dies, he finally lets them go.

This movie is very long, but it is worth every minute.

Super Duper
27 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is a great movie, and I think we should applaud Disney for their efforts.

Few movies have been made that are better than this one. I actually haven't seen it more months, but it's a great movie.

Creulella De Vil is an evil old lady who wants some puppies to make them into fur coats. In the middle of one night, the puppies are stolen by De Vil's two assistants: Horrace and Jasper. Both men are stupid, but they'll do anything to get cash.

With the help of St. Tibs, a cat, and a Colonel, a dog, the parents of the fifteen puppies, Pongo and Perdita find the puppies, and they find their way home, being chased by Cruella and the two men.

This is a great film, and I recommend it for all ages.

The Return of Jafar (1994 Video)
3/10
Not nearly long enough; good enough
27 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I have given this movie a through examination, and I have determined that, due to the lack of Robin William's voice as the genie, this movie stinks. I like the fact that Iago changes, and he (MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD!!! DO NT READ THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING!!!) ends up destroying Jafar himself.

Iago saves Aladdin's life, and soon, Iago is caught up in the middle of a conspiracy plot by Jafar, who is freed by a thief. The thief, Abis Mal, is the chief of a group of thieves, and isn't very smart. He wastes two wishes right away, and Jafar goes back to Agrabah. He then forces Iago to set a trap for Aladdin. Luckily, Iago is able to stop Jafar, and well, you'll have to watch the movie to find out the rest.

Aladdin (1992)

Excellent
27 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Aladdin is one of the best animated movies that has ever been made. Featuring the voice talents of Robin Williams as the Genie, Scott Weinger as Aladdin, and Gilbert Gottfried as Iago the parrot.

The villain, Jafar, has an evil plot to get his hand on a magic lamp, which contained a genie that would grant three wishes to whomever set him free.

The princess, Jasmine, is being forced to marry within three days by her father. Her father means well, but she had had enough with all the bragging rich princes' that had come to court her.

Through weird circumstances, Aladdin gets hold of the lamp, thanks to his pet monkey, Abu. The genie is a fun-loving guy who takes a liking to Aladdin right away. He has a great sense of humor, and he told Aladdin that if he got a wish, it would be freedom. Aladdin promised the genie that after he makes his first two wishes, he'll use his third wish to set the genie free. Theyt shake hands, and the genie grants Aladdin's first wish: to become a prince.

Eventually, Jafar gets a hold of the lamp, and tries to get rid of Aladdin but not before he Aladdin returns, gets rid of Jafar and Iago for good, and then the Sultan changes the law. Aladdin finally fulfills his promise to the genie by wishing him free.

This is a great movie. My Score: 9/10.

Not as good as Raiders
24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was okay, but it wasn't as good as the first movie.

There's one good reason I don't like this one as much as Raiders, and that's the fact that Harrison Ford uses a profanity term that I find very objectionable. I won't say it here, but if you want to record it off the TV, and you know where to look, I recommend pausing the recorder at the moment he uses the term.

Sean Connery is Jones's father, and his father is kidnapped, and taken to some foreign country. Indy goes to find him, bringing with him a diary that his father sent him. This was a big mistake. It was also a mistake to trust anyone. He was told by his friend, Walter Donavan, to not trust anyone.

**End spoilers** No more spoilers from here on. I'll just say it's a good movie, but eight-and-under's should not watch it. It's much too intense.

My score: 6/10.

Great action!
24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of my all-time favorite movies! It's not currently on my Top 30 list, but it's pretty darn close. Harrison Ford is Indiana Jones, a science teacher who goes exploring for ancient artifacts in different parts of the world.

**Spoilers** After failing to retrieve an ancient idol, he goes to Nepal to retrieve an important piece that will help him stop the Nazi's from getting the Lost Ark, an artifact that the Israelites had hidden in a big underground room.

I won't give away any more spoilers, in case there's someone out there who likes to read spoilers. I'll just say one more thing: It's a great movie, but children age 8 and under should not be allowed to watch this movie; they may have nightmares about it for months afterward.

Good, but why the high rating?
24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I don't get why this movie is Rated PG-13 in the U.S. I really like Matthew Broderick's performance, I just wish he hadn't talked to the camera. That kind of thing bugs me for some reason. I have been a mini-fan of Broderick's since I watched "The Lion King," and "Ladyhawke." He's really funny in this movie, and I've only seen it once, several years ago.

***Spoilers*** Ferris Bueller decides to take a day off of school, so he fakes being sick, and then he goes several places. His principal knows that he's faking the sickness, he just can't prove it.

His sister meets . . . someone at a police station. I'm not sure what she did to get arrested, but she and Ferris didn't really get along before.

This is a great comedy. Watch it if you're a big Broderick fan, or if you just like watching comedies.

Some of the songs are corny.
24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the best and worst musical movies made. The performances of Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds was great, but I was semi-disappointed in some of the songs. I really didn't like the "Gotta Dance" video thing, and the woman who tosses the coin over and over, that was really corny.

On the other hand, the song that\'s called, "Make 'em laugh!" was really good. Especially when Cosmo crashed through the wall. The Lima thing sounded rally psycho. Her voice made me want to cringe. But I guess that's how Jean Hagen's character spoke. Good movie. But only watch it if you really like any of the three main actors.

24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
The only reason that this movie is worth watching is the Award-winning song, "Somwhere Out There," which is one of the best songs that are in a movie.

**Spoilers ahead** The Mouskewitz are a Russian mouse family, and they live in a town that is knee-deep in cats. They talk about America, and that there are no cats there. Then, while immigrating there after losing their home in a fire, Fievel is separated from his family, and must relocate them while trying to survive in a new country. On the way, he meets Tiger, a huge cat that tries to help him find his family.

The Fox and the Hound will go down in history - if it hasn't already-as one of the best movies ever.

While their both young, Tod and Copper are friends. AN old woman rescues Tod, a fox,(whose mother had been killed by a hunter, who owns Copper, a hound dog. As they grow up, however, their friendship becomes endangered by what they have become; Copper is a hunting dog, and Tod is his enemy. THe hunter (voiced by Jack Albertson, in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory") sets several traps for Tod, but the hunter gets his leg stuck in them instead of Tod.

All in all, this is one darn good movie.

Warning: Spoilers
I have seen this movie only once, several years ago. But I remember liking it a lot.

**Spoilers ahead** An old famous opera singer is retired and she decides to give all the money she has to her cats. Her butler hears this and plots to get rid of the cats so he can have the fortune. He puts knockout drops in their milk. When they wake up, they find themselves miles away. They must journey back to their house before it is too late. With the help of an independent-minded tomcat and other animal accomplices, while evading the butler and foiling his plan.

Could have been better, but it also could have been a lot worse.

One of James Stewart's best.
24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Starring James Stewart and Margaret Sullivan, this story is what "You've Got Mail" is based on. Only this is much better.

For one thing, there's no profanity. For another, it has my favorite actor, James Stewart.

Alfred Kralik (Stewart) and Klara Novak (Sullivan) know each other by both mail and real life. By letter, they're in love. By real life, they loath each other.

Alfred's boss (Frank Morgan, "The Wizard of Oz") thinks that Alfred is after his wife. So he fires Allfred, but then he gets sick, so he tells Alfred that he's the new manager. Meanwhile, Alfred and Klara find out that they secretly love each other.

I have only seen this movie once, and that was over a year ago, so I don't remember the exact ending. But if you like Jimmy Stewart, you'll love this movie.

Good Cary Grant movie
24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Directed by Howard Hawks, "Bringing Up Baby" is one of the best comedies in the world. Starring Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn, this movie is about a doctor who works at a museum. Acheologists had found the remaining bone to a four-year long search and assembly of a dinosaur, but the bone is discovered by George, a dog that belonged to Susan. He buries the bone in his yard.

Dr. David Huxley (Grant) is engaged, but another woman (Hepburn) wants him to take care of Baby, a full-grown leopard. Before he can say, "Baby," Dr. Huxley and Susan are looking for Baby, and one misadventure leads to another.

THis is a good comedy. If you're a Cary Grant fan, you'll love this movie!

Too much cussing
24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
THis would be a good movie, except for a small, yet large problem: there's way too much profanity in this movie. I have been a min-fan of Tom hanks since Toy Story, but this is one you want to avoid, unless you like seeing Tom Hanks cuss his head off. Meg Ryan did pretty well as CKathleen Kelly, but I feel a little sorry for her, because (Kathleen) had to close her store.

Another chick flick to avoid. If you're a die-hard fan of either Hanks or Ryan, go ahead and watch it, but rent it first, because it may not be worth your time and money to buy it.

Pretty good, but not good enough
24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Lucy Eleanor Moderatz (Sandra Bullock) is grown-up, who works at a train station. On Christmas Day, she meets Peter Callahan, (Peter Gallaugher) a young man who comes to her window everyday. He is unfortunately mugged by robbers, and is left unconscious. Lucy saves him, but is caught up in the middle of confusion. Everyone thinks that Lucy and Peter are engaged. Peter, meanwhile is in a coma. His brother, Jack, (Bill Pullman) is wanting to give up the family business, a furniture company.

Eventually, Lucy tells the godfather of Peter, Saul. (Jack Warden) who wants to tell the family, but is lackluster at it. When Peter wakes up, he doesn't remember Lucy. They think he has amnesia, but he starts naming several things before the accident, the alphabet, his eighth grade locker combination, and the like.

THis is a chick flick, so I'm not a huge fan. Avoid it, unless you like any of the actors/actresses.
