Under the Skin (2013)
Creepy sci-fi flick that is unlike any movie you will ever see.
I am a sci-fi lover. I am also a Scarlett Johansson fan. How could i not be, as she is a goddess. This movie will definitely make you think, if you are a fan of the "UFO" or "aliens" topic. So, i watched it a couple of times already. BUT, it isn't for everyone. Just like all movies, some people will like it, some people will not. Could there have been things added or left out, of course. Are those things needed for someone to like this movie, of course not. I read some other reviews where the person that loved it called other people ignorant because they didn't like it. That, in itself, is ignorant to do. We are human. We are going to dislike and like different things for whatever reasons. People cannot help what they do not like. So if you are reading this trying to decide whether to watch it, my advice is, give it a shot. You are not going to know if you like it by reading reviews. The only way to see whether you like it, or not, is to actually watch it. Maybe you will, maybe you won't.
Coherence (2013)
Surprisingly decent mind bender.
If you like "The Twilight Zone" type stories, this movie is for you. Very low budget, but it shows that a good movie can be produced with less. Yes, the camera work may irritate you at times, but if you like science fiction, you will prob still enjoy this movie.
Time Trap (2017)
Underrated movie
I skipped this movie on Vudu for so long. Finally i gave it a shot and I'm glad i did. I live sci fi movies like this. I love thinking about what it could be like in the distant future, in a positive way. Just my kind of movie. You can tell it is low budget, but the director, cast and everyone involved did a great job with what they h3sd to work with. Check it out if you like sci fi movies.
Evil Dead (2013)
If you are a classic horror movie fan, dont pay attention to the bad reviews.
This movie has classic elements that would have made even the original better. This movie is for the classic horror lovers. Brutal as hell and gory. You will say the words "Holy SH#T" if you watch it. It isn't scary, but as grown man that is able to separate fantasy from reality, no horror movie is actually scary. That scary stuff went away when I hit puberty. I look at horror as an art form. This is up there with the original Evil dead masterpiece imo. Of course we all have different opinions, and I'm glad we do. If we didn't, every movie would be the same. I don't think they could have done much better for the remake of this classic. Give it a try. What is the worst that could happen?
Fury (2014)
What a performance from the whole cast. Outstanding movie and acting.
In my opinion, this is one of the best movies of the last 10 or so years. Outstanding cast and great cinematography. My favorite performance from Brad Pitt. Shai LaBeouf was outstanding. He showed his acting skills in this movie. The best performance from him that I've seen. He really impressed me. Logan Lerman also impressed too. I didn't know he could act like that after seeing him in a few other movies. I have seen this movie over 20 times. I will watch it 20 more times over the next year or so. People may have a different opinion, as they should, they are different. This is mine. "Fury" is one of my favorite movies of all time.
The First 48: Off the Tracks (2010)
Horrible police work! Absolutely pathetic.
I was disgusted watching this episode. The interrogation was pathetic. They lied to the suspects and the suspect said maybe something happened and he didnt remember. There was zero evidence and they charged the man. What a disgrace to real detectives. When the detective called the prosecutor, he lied about what the suspect said. Omg These detectives are part of what is wrong with the justice system. I have no idea who these suspects were either, so my take is unbiased. I love when they catch a bad guy. I'm disgusted seeing things like this. Shame on you detectives. I do not know how you sleep at night...unless you are really that stupid and think you proved anything. Pathetic
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
It doesn't get any better than this series.
This series is definitely in the top 5 favorite series' of all time, to me. I do not get scared when watching horror. Hasn't happened since I was a kid. I can find movies or shows creepy though. This show has the creep factor. It actually made me wonder what was in the dark, past the light of my hallway bathroom, at night. Extremely rare for a show to do that. I couldn't believe it. I see the reviews of people saying it is melodramatic. People can be melodramatic and it is a story that has people in it. Lol. Outstanding job by everyone involved with the making of this gem. Can't believe I'm just now hearing about it, but was glad I did come across it. Everyone likes different, so I get that others will have different opinions. If we all liked the same things, everything would be the same. Watch it and form your own opinion, but do not be surprised if you agree with me.
Witches in the Woods (2019)
Better than I thought it would be.
I didn't expect much because I had never heard of if and i haven't really liked many horror movies of late. But this one was ok. I watched it all the way through, which say something I guess. I'm a fan of horror movies with a winter element though, so this was a plus in that regard. I'd recommend to horror lovers.
Halloween (2018)
If you have seen the original and others, you have seen this reboot.
It was pretty much what I expected. Same sound effect\score. Same everything. Was way too predictable, minus maybe one or two short scenes. When you seen someone, you could tell yourself that this person is bout to die and almost exactly how. I like reboots and remakes normally but I could have just watched the original, part 2,4,5 and so on. But make your own review and opinion. This is just mine. I won't be watching it again like I do good movies usually. I definitely can't give any spoilers that the title of the movie hasn't already given.
Astral (2018)
One of the worst endings I've ever seen.
I dunno if I can think of a worse end to a movie. So much more could have been done....like any ending at all. Great cast...but the movie itself is like a 10 minute short film dragged out for a full movie. Its like reading a book and you get to the last 3 chapters and they have been ripped out as well. I myself can't see why the ratings are over 3 out of 10. But to each his own I guess.
