Beware: offensive critic inside
19 February 2022
We watched this movie yesterday.

Do you want to see Jewish people who look and act very Jewishly?

Do you want to see gay couple who look and act really gay?

Do you enjoy watching lesbians who really look and act like lesbians?

Do you like to see a black dude who is really acting like a black dude?

Do you want to see an old white man acting like a real narrow minded old white man?

Do you like cliché and a total lack of storyline? Than this movie is for you.

A complete waste of time and a superb caricature of every possible image you may imagine.

Another proof than French cinemas is dead.

Not funny , sometimes vulgar

Humour and vulgarity can be very close to each other. And if you are not very cautious, yuu fall into vulgarity. This is the problem with this movie. It could have been funny. It could have been enjoyable if the characters were not that extreme in their behaviour. Dujardin and Lellouche are such good actors. This is just sad.

No real surprise expected but what an excellent moment.

This movie is excelletn because the actors are excellent. They build believable characters that you can assimilate to during the whole movie. The story is clearly not very original. Once you know the generic plot: "spying into your partners phone", you just have to discover all the secrets of the protagonists. And some are really well thought. A few characters provide a really excellent play: Stephane De Groot and certainly Gregory Gadebois - that I just discovered in this movie - and who is just stunning. They manage to be funny and emotional during the whole movie. Having a "what if" ending provides a different point of view that I appreciated. The movie is also lighter. Don't be fooled by the "So funny!" announcement displayed by the production company. Obviously some productors don't trust their viewer's intelligence enough to tell them this is drama.
