Mr. Robot (2015)
I dunno
Not sure if I can really comment because I only made it halfway through the second season. I found the 1st season solid and compelling, but by the 2nd or 3rd episode of season 2 I was just dragging myself through the motions, hoping for anything really. Acting was great and all but it became almost painfully slow. It seemed like a good portion of each episode was a ton of negative space and a Building or character paired with foreboding synth music just ushering us into the next scene. I may try it again someday but for right now, I'm pretty over it.
Waiting for Anya (2020)
Meant for a younger audience
I can see why some might find this movie lacking or unfulfilled if you compare it to a large-scale film, but to me it seems to target a younger audience. Through that lens this film is perfect. It's not particularly violent, obscene, or profane; simple dialogue and plot line make it easily digestible for kids and early teens. Plus, the scenery is beautiful and it has a good message. Don't expect Schindler's List or The Grey Zone - this is not that type of film.
