Devil (2010)
Its just one those those crappiest movies which we regret after watching...
The movie from the beginning to the end seem totally pointless. There's no story development or no kind of entertainment or suspense. It's simple bullshit. The director just wanted to drag the story to 1 hr whatever minutes to sell it.
There are several things that make this movie pointless. I would like to add some of it. 1. Why the elevators didn't have any service man which any building with elevators must have. 2. Why the normal procedure to rescue people from an elevator didn't occur 3. Why bunch of people were drilling a wall wasting time when they could have just rescue them by opening an elevator door in the end?
it's bunch of failure in the storyline and the making to drag the movie up to its length. It's just waste of time and money. how come this get 6.4?
The Stoning of Soraya M. (2008)
This is a story of darkness, ignorance and zahiliyat!
I am a Muslim. A proud one. And I want the whole world to see this movie. Despite the fact that it can be a weapon very strongly abused in the west. This is a story of darkness, ignorance and zahiliyat.
The story line is as strong as the truth is, alike bitter too. The style although is nothing unique but the director made the best possible out of it with powerful acting and editing. I must repeat that the acting was just mindbogglingly astounding. The story sucks you into it as it progresses. The magnetism and the thrill of what is going to happen next and how, took my breathe away. Even though it was hard for me to look at the screen when the stoning scene came through. It made me feel rage, pain, suffering and at the same time seas of sorrows.
It is a simple as it can get in a village in Iran where Islam is a weapon to dominate the necessary. Where women are experimentally abused in whatever way possible. In a man dominated-like society where justice is just a word in dictionary. There are thousands of villages like this in this time of civil revolutionary world where this kind of brutal acts take place each day but get lost unspoken, unheard. Amongst all these dark animals there is still light of hope, sign of God, truthfulness and justice. And that was Zahra.
This goes to #1 into my foreign movie list.
Mustafa Hakkinda Hersey (2004)
Overall, it's a failed attempt in making of a thriller...
I don't want to sound too harsh about this film but it was very hard for me to finish the film. But I indeed did finish the film as it was my very first Turkish movie. And at the end, the only thing I could say was that, I just wasted 2 hours of time from my life.
Well, the movie started just fine. As it progresses it gets worse. Just at the point when the film should have had a magnetic flick, it starts to bore the viewer by amateur acting and bad direction. Everything seemed to stop and dragged against the will. The whole 'finding the truth' seemed really boring and less twisting. There was no tension that I felt while watching it, neither any suspense. The main character should have acted much better, although other actors seem to act much better especially the guy whose been kidnapped.
Overall, it's a failed attempt in making of a thriller... I don't know what's wrong with all the viewers rating it above 7.
