The English (2022)
Mixed Feelings
Great cinematography, acting, and costume (I'd give it an 8). However, the violence is so abhorrent that I rated it down to a 6. I wanted to switch it off at times because of it. Also, the type of talking by the Brits and the at times disjointed story were a bit hard to follow, and I asked myself at off and on "What is the story here?". Of course it is about the fight for the land and existence. This has a feel of a theater piece performed in nature. It is very interesting and truly a piece of art. I would have loved to give it an 8. If you are a fan of great pictures and good acting you will enjoy this. Beware that you see violence you might not appreciate.
The Rules of Attraction (2002)
Forget it!
1 hour 50 minutes of profane stupidity.
A major waste of time.
If I would meet any of these characters in real life I would not give them a second of attention.
IMDb on the Scene - Interviews: Midnight Mass (2021)
Hamish Linklater shines
A really good performance by Hamish Linklater.
He almost single handedly creates the creepy atmosphere.
The Night Manager (2016)
Pathetic !
If you want to watch a wannabe Casanova screwing every female in sight, and the background story to be a super boring spy game, then this crap is for you. It is an unrealistic, ridiculous adaptation. A huge waste of Hugh Laurie's talent.
Can't stand this pulling on cheap instincts stuff.
Mallorca is beautiful though.
The Shield (2002)
Flat, mysagonistic, boring
I could go out of the room for 2 hours, come back and would not have missed a thing.
The characters are shallow and predictable. The high ratings are as well. You know the type of guys who like the cussing, fighting, bashing, mysagony? Yeah, those. They like this type of series. No thanks!
I rather watch 'Bosch.
Succession (2018)
For people who like empty shells
This is hard to watch for anyone who is not into ongoing abusive sociopathic behavior by 95% of the characters involved. The excesses, narcissistic behaviors, disgusting dialogs, empty personal attachments, and disordered gluttonous interest in money leave you with complete disgust. I turned off by the end of season 1, because I care too much about my emotional well-being than to eat stuff like this up into my system. I gave 3 stars for acting only, otherwise it would have been 0.
Interstellar (2014)
Poorly researched topic
This movie has many unexplained gaps, banking on effects rather than smarts.
Boring, and personally, I do not understand the "stellar" ratings.
