Encounter (2021)
Biggest misleading garbage movie ever
This isn't an alien movie. It would have been much better if it was. It's long. Its boring. The only reason I kept watching was to get to the end to see if they really were going to screw the audience out of a good ending, and a good overall movie. It doesn't happen.
It also has the classic annoying stupid movie kids. Their life is on the line, and all they do is yell really loud, do the stupidest things to draw attention to the group, and make you say wtf anytime they play a major role.
What a garbage pail. It would have been better with a mindblowing alien twist at the end. This whacko ptsd nonsense is way off course.
Redemption of a Rogue (2020)
Good movie, Great Soundtrack
The movie is worth a watch if you're in a certain kind of mood. The soundtrack is great. I've been shazaming song after song - just going to have to check out the soundtrack.
But yeah, the movie is worth a watch, and the soundtrack is excellent. It has witty dialogue and a good amount of charm to it. It is a bit dry, and not in a bad way, but just be prepared for that.
Another Life (2019)
After all the apologies, it has a lot of promise
Basically, Starbuck apologizes a lot for being the strong-willed leader of the ship that she is, having to make the tough decisions that no one else wants to make. The entire season is building up the characters. If you can make it through it, you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think season 2 has a lot of promise now that they have all of the character-building out of the way, so I'm rating it a 6 in hopes that this first season was all worth something. It did seem to come together at the end.
Frequency (2016)
rating ridiculous
This shouldn't have a higher rating than the film, even if by only .2 points, as it currently stands at the time of this review.
Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief (2015)
Boring and poorly constructed
I wanted to turn this documentary off not too far into it, but kept watching as little tidbits of information made their way to the surface. Unfortunately, again, I found myself wanting to turn it off, but instead just let it play in the background while I did some work on my research paper.
This documentary is boring. All you need to do is youtube this same subject on anti-scientology, and you will find MUCH better information and much more entertaining documentary films on the subject matter.
Don't waste your money. They really had a chance to gather all of the information available on the subject out there and put something excellent together. Unfortunately, it seems they spent more time and money on getting good songs for the doc rather than composing a documentary film that not only informs, but entertains as well.
Boring. Bland. Bleh.
Again. Don't waste your money. Youtube it.
Justice League: Throne of Atlantis (2015)
DC animated movies finally lay a stinker, reminds of Justice League TV show
::POSSIBLE SPOILERS::
I'll keep this short and just say that, compared to the recent/similar Justice League animated movies from the last few years, this one really does not stand up. In fact, what was most disappointing to me about this one were the many similarities between this movie and the Atlantis/Aquaman arc in the Justice League animated TV series. It is almost as if they took the exact same story and storyboards from that TV arc and repurposed it a bit. I kept having to remind myself that I had not seen this movie already, that I was just thinking of all the similar scenes from the TV show story arc I am referencing. The animation itself was OK, nothing spectacular. DC let me down on this one.
