Dispatched to a remote military post, two young American soldiers, Peter Dewey and Adam Pierce, are tasked with protecting a sacred pressure valve system from possible enemy incursions. In the stillness of this unforgiving desert, the monotonous task is only occasionally relieved by the vague hope that one day an enemy attack from beyond a vast mountain range will offer an opportunity for meaning and honor. As days turn to months, loneliness to isolation, boredom to paranoia, Peter descends into a dark and delusional reality. His journey is an existential meditation on the meaningless cruelty of war and the western ''fear propaganda" machine, trapped in a large diorama of religious symbols.
