The Kingston Trio Celebration PBS TV Pledge Special Directed by Chip Miller
This all-star TV special aired on PBS from 2015 to 2019, was released on DVD and Bluray, and on a CD soundtrack, and is now available on all major streaming platforms through MVD Distribution. The 2-day concert shoot, filmed in the Avalon Hollywood (formerly the historic Palace Theater) across the street from Capitol Records, where The Kingston Trio became the 3rd best-selling artist in the label's history, above The Beach Boys, and below Frank Sinatra and The Beatles. This is the full special, pledges and all, as seen on PBS. It features The Kingston Trio of 2003 to 2018: Bill Zorn, Rick Dougherty, and George Grove, the historic last concert of Trio founder, Bob Shane, who died in 2020, along with Al Jardine of The Beach Boys; Timothy B. Schmit of The Eagles; Barry "Eve of Destruction" McGuire of The New Christy Minstrels; Henry Diltz of Modern Folk Quartet, The Limeliters, the late Trini Lopez, Shari Belafonte, and Sana Christian. Directed and co-produced by Chip Miller for Desert C.A.M. Studios. Travis Miller produced and edited with Janaki Jennings and director Miller. Terrel Cass and Kieran Cavanagh exec produced. Bryan Greenberg was the DP.
