Hot on the heels of the teaser trailer for Ant-Man this week, Paul Rudd has lined up his next project to follow the Marvel Studios adaptation. Variety reports the Anchorman franchise star is set to lead an adaptation of The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving, based on Jonathan Evison's novel of the same name. The New York Times bestselling novel follows the touching friendship of Ben Benjamin (Rudd) and a young adult stricken with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. As you've probably guessed, the two become close friends, each helping the other in their own life with emotional, funny and inspiring results. It basically sounds like a platonic version of The Fault in Our Stars, but that might be an over simplification of the story since so many people are loving it. Rob Burnett, an Emmy-winning executive producer from "The Late Show with David Letterman" is writing the script and also directing...

At a glance, the title – The Revised Fundamentals Of Caregiving - reads like an instructional manual. However, it’s actually a keenly observed dramedy novel in the vein of Matthew Quick’s fictional offerings. So, bearing that comparison in mind, it’s no wonder that the film rights were snapped up and development is now on track with the addition of its first cast member, Paul Rudd. Yep, Ant-Man’s taking the fantasy down a notch for this quirky indie.
Based on the book by Jonathan Evison, the film follows Ben Benjamin (Rudd). Aimless after losing his wife and family, he slinks from job to job with no ambition for a prosperous future, until one day he takes a night class in… you got it, caregiving. He winds up landing a job overseeing a teenager with muscular dystrophy, Trev, and the pair strike up an unorthodox friendship. As someone who...

In less than a month, the broadcast networks will be announcing which new series they're picking up for the 2013-14 season. Zap2it can't wait for that, though, so this week we're doing a series of pilot previews.
In addition to this gallery of 22 shows we hope the networks order to series, we're also going to take a closer look at pilot scripts from each of the networks. While a lot can change between now and a series premiere, and these are by no means full reviews, we hope to offer some insight at some of the projects the networks are considering this spring.
Jason Isaacs' "Awake" didn't survive the 2011-12 pilot season on NBC, but he's back as "The Surgeon General" on CBS, one of the pilots we're hoping gets picked up for this fall.
