The Los Angeles dog trainer who spent a year working with Lena Dunham and her dog Lamby when his behavioral issues became too much for the actress to handle, tells People that Dunham did everything possible before making the “very painful” decision to “re-home” her beloved pet.
Matt Beisner, who runs The Zen Dog, tells People that some rescue animals are so traumatized that it sometimes takes months before they begin exhibiting behavioral problems.

Lena Dunham‘s claims that her former dog Lamby had suffered from aggression may have been disputed by the animal shelter from which she adopted the dog, but the facility where she surrendered her dog for treatment is standing by her — revealing the dog bit three workers, drawing blood each time.
Zen Dog, an L.A. facility that works with dogs with behavioral issues, had taken over custody of Lamby at Dunham’s request. The facility’s owner Matt Beisner said Lamby displayed aggressive behaviors when anyone tried to touch him, TMZ reports.

"Nobody on earth cares for or loved lamby more than lena," Antonoff, 33, tweeted. "After he bit her father and her twice we found a trainer who deals with aggressive dogs who he now lives happily with. was a deeply hard decision."
"Shoutout to everyone who has an opinion on this and didn't live with us the past 4 years!" he added.

These dogs aren’t going to walk themselves!
One day after shelter staffers refuted Lena Dunham’s claim that her former rescue dog Lamby had suffered abuse before the actress rescued him, the Girls star and boyfriend Jack Antonoff hit the streets of New York City with their other pups, poodles Karen and Susan (who are reportedly not rescues).
Dunham introduced the now 1-year-old dogs — who are related — during a February appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. At the time, she mentioned that Lamby was living in California because he preferred the West Coast lifestyle.

2017-07-07T08:46:36-07:00Did Lena Dunham Lie About Her Dog's Past?
Lena Dunham probably wishes she’d let sleeping dogs lie.
The “Girls” creator is under fire from the Brooklyn Animal Rescue Coalition (Barc) after she sent her dog Lamby to The Zen Dog, a facility that aims to change behavioral issues in dogs.
Dunham, 31, announced on Instagram in June that she could no longer keep the pooch, who became a celebrity in his own right, complete with his own Instagram account and even an appearance in Vogue with Dunham’s “Girls” co-star, Adam Driver.
However, Barc refuted Dunham’s claims that Lamby was abused prior to Dunham’s adoption.
“We checked the records for Lamby. He was ‘owner surrendered, not enough time,’ so we do not know where she got ‘multiple owners that abused the dog,'” Barc rep Robert Vazquez told Yahoo Celebrity.

Dunham, 31, posted a photo of her portrait of Lamby, with a detailed caption in response to the Barc Shelter.

An animal shelter in Brooklyn is disputing Lena Dunham‘s claims that her former dog, Lamby, had “challenging behavior and aggression” that stemmed from “terrible abuse” the dog suffered as a puppy.
“When she adopted the dog from us, it wasn’t crazy,” Robert Vazquez, a spokesman for the Barc no-kill animal shelter, told Yahoo Celebrity. “I have pictures of the dog loving on Lena and her mom, which is weird if the dog was abused. It wouldn’t be cuddling with her or be in the bed with her ‘boyfriend’ in the pages of Vogue.”
“If Lamby had a bad past or was abused,...
