Jeopardy! fans are eager to see host Ken Jennings show his skills on Dancing with the Stars.
As DWTS Season 33 approaches, various cast rumors are swirling about which dancers and celebrities will appear.
Jennings initially appeared on Jeopardy! as one of the most successful contestants before becoming one of the show’s hosts several years ago.
He’s since gone on to fill the famous shoes of the late Alex Trebek, receiving an Emmy nomination for his work.
However, trying his dancing skills on the ballroom floor might require him to step out of his comfort zone and put on shoes he’s not used to. It’s something fellow game show host Drew Carey from The Price Is Right has done.
Jennings recently addressed whether he would appear on DWTS and Jeopardy! fans seem to support his joining the cast.

Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings took to social media on Thursday (May 30) to answer some fan questions, and it turns out there is a high demand for him to compete in the next season of Dancing With the Stars. In the video shared on the official Jeopardy! Instagram account, one fan asked the host, “Would you ever do Dancing With the Stars?” “Nobody in America wants to see me do Dancing With the Stars, I promise. I will save you that indignity,” Jennings replied. However, maybe the Jeopardy! Goat will change his mind after he sees the response because fans soon flooded the comments section with demands for Jennings to appear on the dancing competition series. Ken Jennings is usually lenient when it comes to his role as Jeopardy! host, but he isn’t afraid to get mean and throw some shade when the situation calls for it. On the latest episode of the Inside Jeopardy! podcast, hosts Sarah Whitcomb Foss and Buzzy Cohen played a clip from an off-air segment where a member of the studio audience asked Jennings what happens when a contestant doesn’t answer in the form of a question. “Oh, boy. Do you know what hanging, drawing, and quartering is?” Jennings quipped. The host went on to say that he gets progressively meaner throughout the episode if a contestant continues to mess up that key Jeopardy! rule. He explained, “The rules are actually different in the first and second rounds. In the first round, I get to remind them very sternly. I say, ‘Yes, but please remember your phrases.'” “In the second round,...

On a recent episode of Jeopardy!, Grant DeYoung was looking for his third straight win. However, his two challengers left a little to be desired. In the final round, only one was left and his answer caused Ken Jennings to get short with him as DeYoung won again.
Here is the final Jeopardy! question and why Jennings was frustrated by this moment in the show.
Ken Jennings Short After Bad Jeopardy! Answers
By the time the Final Jeopardy! rolled around, only two competitors remained. The third, Rachel Shelton, had $0 heading into the finals, so she had to leave the game at that point. This means that Grant DeYoung was trying to win his third game in a row against Nick Coombs.
Jennings had already expressed disappointment when Rachel Shelton bet it all on the Daily Double. She went all-in with $7,000 and then missed the question. Ken seemed sad to see her fall,...

Jeopardy! Masters viewers are wondering if host Ken Jennings unintentionally revealed some shocking news on Wednesday’s (May 1) episode when he implied ABC’s The Chase had been canceled. The comment came during the Masters premiere, which saw Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament winner Victoria Groce dominate super-champs Mattea Roach and Matt Amodio with 29,867 points. Groce is a pro-quizzer who appears on The Chase as “The Queen.” During the player anecdotes, Jennings addressed Groce, saying, “And our viewers probably remember you from The Chase, where you were known as The Queen.” “Are,” Groce replied, highlighting how Jennings spoke in the past tense. “Are, sorry,” Jennings replied as Groce laughed and told him, “That’s alright.” “Thank you for taking time out of your busy regal schedule to be with us on Masters,” the host added. Fans also picked up on Jennings’ wording and took to social media to share their concerns. “Is The Chase cancelled or not?...

However, Ferdinand Percentie’s personal tale on Monday’s (April 29) episode is going to take some beating. And fans are wondering if it was the best anecdote ever. As reported by The Mirror, during the show’s anecdote section, Percentie revealed to host Ken Jennings that his grandmother inspired the hit Jimmy Buffett song “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” Percentie said his family comes from a small island in the Bahamas, Harbor Island, and “According to family lore, Jimmy Buffett came to the hotel/restaurant my grandma founded and [he] had a cheeseburger there. That was his inspiration to write Cheeseburger in Paradise.” Jennings was impressed, telling Percentie, “Your grandmother’s cheeseburgers were so good that he wrote a hit song about them. Former Jeopardy! producer Mike Richards is finally talking about what went wrong for him in his ill-fated stint as host two years ago.

Changes could be afoot for the syndicated iteration of Jeopardy!

The Jeopardy Invitational Tournament is approaching this month, and it is set to showcase some of the best Jeopardy! players of all time, including, fans hope, former champ Brad Rutter. Jeopardy! fans might have been disappointed that Rutter wasn’t a part of last year’s Masters tournament, but it’s speculated the highest-earning contestant may return for Jit, which begins March 29. Rutter, who won the 2001 Tournament of Champions, told Vulture last year that he’s “always down” to compete on the show again. Rutter last appeared on the show in 2020’s The Greatest of All Time tournament, where he finished in third place behind recent Masters winner James Holzhauer (2nd place) and the show’s now host Ken Jennings (1st place). The Goat tournament marked the first time Rutter had lost a game against a human opponent (he and Jennings lost to Ibm’s computer system Watson in 2011). His...

The end of Jeopardy!‘s tournament deluge is (kinda-sorta) nigh, according to host Ken Jennings.
“We know there have been a lot of tournaments,” Jennings acknowledged to USA Today on Friday amid the delayed launch of the latest Tournament of Champions. “We are sympathetic with tournament overload… It will be early spring for the first time in many, many months, we will finally have new players back on.”

Jeopardy! has been in tournament overdrive for months, ever since the WGA strike paused episodes with new players, but now, Ken Jennings has given fans some idea of when regular episodes will return. The host and Jeopardy! G.O.A.T. spoke with USA Today ahead of the 2024 Tournament of Champions, which officially kicked off on Friday, February 23. During the interview, Jennings was asked when viewers can expect to see the return of regular, non-tournament play. “We know there have been a lot of tournaments. We are sympathetic with tournament overload, but this is one we’re really excited about,” Jennings said, referring to the upcoming Jeopardy! Invitational, which is set to air following the Toc. “For the first time this year we’re going to do a Jeopardy! invitational tournament where we bring back some favorite contestants from the past years, in some cases the past decades,” he continued. “And one winner...

At long last, Jeopardy! fans are getting the strike-delayed Tournament of Champions… though it’s not like there’s been a tournament shortage on the syndicated game show lately! This year’s Toc includes contestants from the past three Jeopardy! seasons, plus one celebrity player. Here’s a breakdown of the players, the match-ups, the odds, and the fan reactions. When does it premiere? The quarterfinals kick off on Friday, February 23, and will run until late March. Who is hosting? As per usual, former contestant Ken Jennings will helm the upcoming Toc. Jennings is now Jeopardy’s permanent and only host following Mayim Bialik‘s exit in December 2023. Who are the contestants? The 2024 Tournament of Champions will feature 27 contestants, 11 of whom are Season 39 alums with winning streaks of four or more games. This year, Jeopardy! producers also opened the Toc to Season 39’s three-game winners, of which there are eight.

The 2024 Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions, technically the 2023 Toc that was delayed due to the WGA strikes, finally arrives this week, and fans are amped up to see the best-of-the-best battle it out. There are 27 contestants taking part in the Toc, making it the largest playing field ever. As per usual, former contestant Ken Jennings will helm the upcoming Toc. Jennings is now Jeopardy’s permanent and only host following Mayim Bialik‘s exit in December 2023. The quarterfinals kick off on Friday, February 23, and will run until late March. The Toc was pushed back due to last summer’s WGA strike, which massively affected Jeopardy‘s filming schedule. Despite the show continuing to air with former contestants and recycled clues, many Toc qualifiers refused to participate until the strikes were resolved. Instead of recording the Toc or episodes with new contestants, Jeopardy! chose to air Second Chance and Champions Wildcard tournaments...

It’s been a chaotic few years for American quiz show institution Jeopardy!
Following the death of legendary longtime host Alex Trebek in 2020, Jeopardy! embarked on a sprawling search for a replacement with 16 guest hosts vying to fill Trebek’s enormous shoes. Ultimately Jeopardy! producer Mike Richards chose himself for the role. He was then quickly fired when audio resurfaced of him using offensive language on some podcasts.
Goat Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings and The Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bialik were then tapped as co-hosts. But in December of 2023, Bialik was also let go from the show, leaving Jennings as the sole remaining host and ultimate heir to Trebek’s throne. While some theorized that Bialik’s own history of controversial statements led to her firing, executive producer Michael Davies recently revealed during the Television Critics Association press tour that wasn’t the case.

The first half of Super Bowl Lviii proved so fruitless for the defending-champion Kansas City Chiefs that it drove their star tight end Travis Kelce to throw a sideline tantrum (nearly knocking over coach Andy Reid in the process), and so boring for the Allegiant Stadium crowd in Vegas that it brought his girlfriend Taylor Swift to chug a beer on the jumbotron. Swift was joined in her luxury suite (estimated cost: $2.5 million) by pals Ice Spice and Blake Lively as well as the Kelce family. The lone first-half touchdown...

Jeopardy! has been a bit all over the place since longtime host Alex Trebek passed away in 2020.
The series had a rotating panel of guest hosts before settling on fan-favorite contestant Ken Jennings and The Big Bang Theory alum Mayim Bialik.
That all came crashing down earlier this year when Bialik revealed she had been informed she would no longer be hosting the syndicated iteration of the show.
Months later, producers are speaking out about the thought process behind the decision.
Executive producer Michael Davies got candid about the situation with reporters on Saturday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, revealing that in the end, Jennings “really won the job.”
Davies said the multi-hosting situation helped because of Bialik’s commitments to Call Me Kat.

Michael Davies, Jeopardy! EP, is opening up about Mayim Bialik’s departure from the game show after she announced it in December.
Speaking to reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Saturday, Davies said that when he “took over the show, we were forced into that situation from everything that had happened before, the guest hosting period.”
“Mayim was left hosting the primetime versions. I brought in Ken [Jennings] to guest host because Mayim had her schedule, her Fox sitcom [Call Me Kat], so couldn’t host all the episodes,” he said.
“Over the past two and a half seasons, what we’ve heard a lot from our television stations and other interested parties is they were looking for more consistency. They wanted a single host,” he continued. “Mayim is a superb host on Jeopardy! We hope to continue working with her on primetime versions [and] other spinoffs of the show.

The Bachelor producers froze Saturday when asked at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour about why the franchise seemingly has a hard time handling racial issues.
During a panel featuring showrunners from Jeopardy, Dancing With the Stars and Shark Tank, NPR’s Eric Deggans polled Bachelor producing trio Jason Ehrlich, Claire Freeland (both newcomers) and franchise veteran Bennett Graebner about why former star Rachel Lindsay and Matt James were both critical about how the Warners-produced franchise talks about race.
Freeland, who joined the Warner Bros. TV-produced Bachelor franchise in January 2023, attempted a response by saying that the show’s goal is to “represent the country” before shifting away from the question. Deggans, a respected veteran journalist and TCA member, then reiterated the question in a more direct fashion. At that point, all three producers remained mum for around 10 seconds, creating one of the more awkward moments of press tour.

Though Mayim Bialik was fired from the “Jeopardy!” flagship syndicated series in December, the door is still open to bring her back for other versions, according to executive producer Michael Davies.
On a panel about unscripted television during ABC’s presentation at the Television Critics Assn. winter 2024 press tour, Davies said the decision to remove Bialik and keep Ken Jennings as solo host came from a pursuit of “more consistency.”
“When I took over the show, we were forced into that situation,” said Davies, referring to the two-host setup. “Over the past two and a half seasons, what we’ve heard from a lot of from television stations and other interested parties is that they wanted more consistency. They wanted a single host.
“Mayim is a superb host,” he added. “We hope to continue working with her on primetime versions — this conversation is ongoing.”

Until the writers’ strike (which began in May 2023), Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik had been splitting hosting duties for Jeopardy!. Then, out of solidarity with the writers, Bialik stepped back and Jennings filled in as host. Then, in December 2023, nearly two months after the writers’ strike ended, Bialik revealed on Instagram that she had been told by the studio that she wouldn’t be returning to the game show. “We were forced into that [multi-host] situation, because of everything that had happened before with the guest-hosting period,” executive producer Michael Davies said at the 2024 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour. “Mayim was left hosting the primetime versions, and I brought in Ken to guest-host because Mayim had her Fox sitcom.” According to the EP, the decision was made due to feedback those at the ...

Playing a long-married couple in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Parker Posey and Wagner Moura are twinned forces of nature. They’re weird, they’re obnoxious, they’re so cheerful they’re borderline terrifying, and so obviously wild about each other they’re almost endearing. Whenever they’re onscreen, the entire show seems to sit up and hold its breath, eagerly aware that anything might happen in their presence.
Alas, they’re also guest stars. The couple actually at the center of the Prime Video comedy are the rather more sedate John (Donald Glover) and Jane (Maya Erskine). Mr. & Mrs. Smith has its delights, with a plot that sends the duo on glamorous top-secret missions to one picturesque location after another. But it’s all built on the wobbly foundation of a romance that’s more interesting in theory than in practice.

Although the prospect of seeing another attempt at reworking the “Bad News Bears” formula within another sport may feel like it would be a complete failure, the film The Underdoggs, manages to remain somewhat likable and entertaining thanks in large part to a strong ensemble cast that seems aware of what types of film they are in and exactly what needs to be done to make it work.
The film follows the familiar trope of a washed-up ex-professional athlete Jaycen Jennings (Snoop Dogg) who, after hitting rock bottom, is afforded an opportunity to redeem himself through community service. Service which ultimately leads to a fulfilling character rebirth as that former self-indulgent, hard to get along with, and “lonely” player rediscovers what exactly drew him to the game in the first place.
Director Charles Stone III – perhaps best known for Drumline (2022) and Mr. 3000 (2004) – holds the film together well and paces it economically.

Jeopardy! is making an unplanned switch, due to the WGA writers’ strike. Mayim Bialik has opted not to host the final week of filming for Season 39 as a sign of her support for the writers, according to Deadline. However, the game show will still go on, with Ken Jennings stepping in in her stead. The end of the season will be filmed Tuesday, May 16, through Friday, May 19, at the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City. Jeopardy!, produced by Sony Pictures Television, is a WGA show and features contributions from WGA writers, but the questions were written before a season and the strike. Still, Jeopardy! is now among one of the first game shows to be affected by the strike. Some Jeopardy! writers, namely Michele Loud, Jim Rhine, and Billy Wisse have joined the picket lines ...
