Holy Chimichangas! The Merc with a Mouth is Finally teaming up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine on the big screen in Deadpool & Wolverine. After Jackman retired as the character, we didn’t think we would get a chance to see this happen. Since the trailer reveal, we have seen this film firmly takes place in the current Multiverse Saga that the MCU is going through. With that, we’ll see our heroes cross over with a lot of surprises, and it appears to be the final send-off for much of the Fox/Marvel universe. Here is who we want to see show up during the film.

"You speak Irish, but you don't understand the language." Let's go!! WildCard Distr. in the UK has revealed the official trailer for a killer, unforgettable, energetic new rap musical film from Ireland called Kneecap. It premiered at Sundance earlier this year and received near universal acclaim (it ended up on my Top 10 Best of the Fest list). This film is legit! So good! Based on the origin story of the riotous and ground-breaking Irish-language rap trio Kneecap, the film stars the band's original members Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí in their acting debuts alongside Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender, with Simone Kirby, Jessica Reynolds, Fionnuala Flaherty, and Josie Walker. Set in west Belfast in 2019, it chronicles how fate brings the trio together and how they then go on to "change the sound of Irish music forever". Winner of the Next Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival 2024. I'm a...

Watch Dogs, a video game franchise from Ubisoft, follows the story of skilled hackers who make use of complex technology to fend off oppressive forces trying to control major cities around the globe. Ubisoft’s action-adventure franchise has managed to captivate gamers with an appropriate portrayal of hacking culture and underground networks. The studio even had a film adaptation planned, but it ended up being stuck in development hell.
However, it seems like the Watch Dogs film adaptation is finally gearing up. The Robin Hood star, Tom Blyth, has now joined the film cast. While this has undoubtedly caused massive excitement among fans, many point towards the failure of the Assassin’s Creed movie series and believe that we shouldn’t even bother hyping up.

It's been a while since we've seen a true prestige film hit the top of the Netflix charts. Or, at least, it seems that way. Last week we saw Jennifer Lopez sci-fi outing "Atlas" have a strong showing on Netflix, a development made all the more upsetting by the simultaneous success of Antonio Banderas' B-movie "Security," which similarly blew up on the streamer seven years after its initial release. Prior to that, everyone's favorite Ogre, "Shrek," dominated the Netflix charts, while Scott Adkins Dtv actioner "One Shot" also managed to find its own success amid the Shrek-fever of May. All of this seemed a tad desultory and, dare I say, disheartening. Now, though, it may be Poland to the rescue, with murder mystery "Colors of Evil: Red" seeing global success on the service.
The crime thriller is adapted from Małgorzata Oliwia Sobczak's book "Czerwień" and directed by Adrian Panek.

Exclusive: Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Sarah Snook has set her next big project following the conclusion of HBO’s hit series Succession.
Snook will star in and executive produce Peacock’s upcoming suburban thriller series All Her Fault in the lead role of “Marissa.” Megan Gallagher serves as writer, creator and executive producer of the project adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name by Andrea Mara.
All Her Fault opens on a plausibly terrifying situation that eventually unearths the deep secrets of a community. Marissa Irvine arrives at 14 Arthur Avenue, expecting to pick up her young son Milo from his first playdate with a boy at his new school. But the woman who answers the door isn’t a mother she recognizes. She isn’t the nanny. She doesn’t have Milo. And so begins every parent’s worst nightmare.
Minkie Spiro is set to direct the first episode, among others and executive produce. EPs also include Nigel Marchant, Gareth Neame and Joanna Strevens for Carnival Films, Jennifer Gabler Rawlings and Christine A. Sacani, producer Terry Gould and associate producer, Andrea Mara, who wrote the novel All Her Fault. Universal International Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
Snook was most recently seen on-stage at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket on The West End in the award-winning play The Picture of Dorian Gray. For her performance, she was awarded an Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Play.
Last year, Snook was seen in the final season of the HBO award-winning series Succession. For her portrayal of ‘Shiv Roy’ across the show’s four seasons, she received an Emmy, two Golden Globe Awards and two Critics Choice Awards. She also flexed her voice acting skills in Hulu’s animated series Koala Man. Her TV credits also include the Australian drama series The Beautiful Lie, AMC’s anthology drama series Soulmates, and an episode of Netflix’s Black Mirror.
On the big screen, Sarah co-starred in Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs alongside Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet; the science-fiction thriller Predestination alongside Ethan Hawk; and Kornél Mundruczó’s Pieces of a Woman alongside Vanessa Kirby.
Snook is represented by UTA and Omni Artists Ltd.

Fans lauded Zack Snyder’s 2007 historical epic film 300, but despite it being a masterpiece to many, one fan managed to point out a massive plot hole that’s been there yet no one has talked about. Was it really a plot hole, or was it one of the director’s deliberate ways to exhibit the real intention of the movie?
Gerard Butler in 300 / Warner Bros.
300 featured an ensemble cast with big names like Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, Rodrigo Santoro, David Wenham, Michael Fassbender, and Dominic West, to name a few, and it also ended up as a massive commercial success.

Ready your breakfast and eat hardy, for tonight we dine on 300 news! For anyone who's long hoped for more stories in the world of the Spartans (with lashings of comic book style), there's a promising update. According to Variety, a TV adaptation of the Zack Snyder historical epic – itself an adaptation of the legendary Frank Miller's graphic novel – is in early development at Warner Bros. Television. And what's more, Snyder – who directed and co-wrote the 2006 film – is in talks to helm the project.
In terms of plot details for the series, news is there is no news – Wbtv is keeping its cards close to their chest at present. But early word is that the series will serve as a prequel of some sort to the hyper-stylised film, which recounted the tale of how fearless leader Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his army of 300 Spartans held back thousands (possibly millions) of...

Once again… this is Sparta! A television series based on 300 is reportedly in the works, set to expand the story of the 2006 action film. There’s no word on writers or platform, but Variety reports the prospective TV series will be a prequel to 300, which followed Spartan king Leonidas (Gerard Butler) as he led his band of elite soldiers in battle against the forces of Persian king Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro). Zack Snyder — who directed and co-wrote 300, an adaptation of Frank Miller and Lynn Varley’s comic book series of the same name — is in talks to direct and executive-produce series, per Variety. Deborah Snyder, Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, Bernie Goldmann — all of whom produced or executive-produced 300 — are also in talks to return for the TV series, as is Wesley Coller of the Snyders’ Stone Quarry production company, the magazine reports. 300, which also starred Lena Headey,...

In 2006, you could scarcely go a day without someone shouting, “This is Sparta!” in your face. The iconic line by Gerard Butler’s King Leonidas in Zack Snyder’s 300 became a battle cry for anyone looking to punt an irritant off a cliff. Out of sight. Out of mind. According to sources, a 300 TV series is developing at Warner Bros. TV. It’s early days for what Deadline says could be a prequel to the 2006 film, and fans are already theorizing about the plot, which is unknown. While deals are not in place, we hear Zack and Deborah Snyder could reunite with Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, Bernie Goldmann, and Wesley Coller of Stone Quarry for the newly announced project.

A “300” TV series adaptation is in early development at Warner Bros. Television, Variety has learned from sources.
Exact plot details are still being worked out, but sources say that the show would serve as a prequel to the 2006 film. No writer or platform is currently attached to the project.
Deals are still being negotiated, but Zack Snyder, who directed and co-wrote “300,” is in talks to direct and executive produce the series. Deborah Snyder, who executive produced “300,” would also return as an executive producer under her and Zack’s Stone Quarry production banner, with Stone Quarry’s Wesley Coller also on board. Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, and Bernie Goldmann — all of whom were producers on the film — are likewise in talks to return.
Reps for Wbtv declined to comment.

Last year, Jennifer Lopez starred in so-so Netflix actioner "The Mother," in which she sniped her way through wave after wave of bad guys. Unfortunately the film marked yet another moment whereby the streaming age subsumed a former megastar into its nebulous cloud of generic "content." If "The Mother" isn't enough to convince you of such developments, just take a look at "Atlas," the latest Lopez-starring Netflix original film.
It should be said that the trailer for "Atlas" did look promising, but critics certainly aren't too impressed with this sci-fi actioner, which comes from director Brad Peyton ("San Andreas") and also stars Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, and Mark Strong. Lopez plays an AI-wary data analyst who quickly finds herself in a situation where she's forced to rely on a synthetic consciousness to survive a mission gone awry. Quentin Tarantino is one of the most prolific filmmakers in Hollywood. The maverick director is known for films such as Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and the Kill Bill franchise. He is known for his particular brand of violent entertainers with a tribute to the films and TV shows he grew up with in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
In 2008, the filmmaker made one of his best-reviewed works Inglorious Basterds. The film saw a group of US soldiers infiltrating Nazi Germany during the Second World War. While Tarantino approached the subject with a revisionist history lens, he reportedly also wrote a segment in the original script that he wanted to turn into a spinoff film called Killer Crow.

American films and television invariably brush up against the issue of language. Since these stories are made for mass appeal — and said mass is English-speaking audiences — the films will depict characters speaking English even if that shouldn't be the case. Take films set during Roman times like "Spartacus" or "Gladiator," which have dialogue spoken only in English, not Latin or even a closer modern stand-in like Italian.
Then there are films with characters from different countries, yet the audience hears them all speaking the same tongue. Some handle this more cleverly than others; in "The Hunt for Red October," the Soviet characters are first heard speaking Russian before a quick switch to English -- letting the audience know while they're hearing English, the characters are hearing Russian.
"Shōgun," which recently went from mini-series to a two-season renewal, makes no attempt to hold its audience's hand. Set in 1600 Japan, Lord Yoshii...

In the world of blockbuster entertainment and critical success, no one rivals the mastery of Steven Spielberg. Notwithstanding the technical ingenuity of James Cameron and the interstellar scientific imagination of George Lucas, Spielberg stands – to this day – as the only Hollywood director to spread out his wings across (almost) every genre and master it without leaving any room for doubts.

It’s been 10 years since X-Men: Days of Future Past hit theatres, ushering in an endgame to a universe that would not be replicated until Avengers: Infinity War, four years later. The X-Men are one step closer to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with their own movie.
Screenwriter Michael Lesslie (“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes”) is in talks with Marvel Studios to write the first “X-Men” movie since the mutant superhero franchise was acquired by Disney in its purchase of 21st Century Fox in 2019.
As with every Marvel Studios film, Kevin Feige will produce, but nothing else about the film has been set, including director or cast. Marvel has been slowly seeding the MCU with mutants over the past two years, including brief mentions in 2022’s “Ms. Marvel” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and appearances of the X-Men’s namesake and leader, Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), in an alternative universe in 2022’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” and of Beast (Kelsey Grammer) in the post-credits sequence of 2023’s “The Marvels.”

The name Harry Hole may sound like a joke to a lot of English speakers, but Norwegian author Jo Nesbø has managed to build a bestselling series of crime novels around the character – whose last name is meant to be pronounced as “Hoo-leh.” There have been thirteen books in the Harry Hole series to date, with the seventh one having previously been brought to the screen as the 2017 film The Snowman… which, despite having Tomas Alfredson at the helm, Martin Scorsese on board as a producer, and a strong cast that included Michael Fassbender as Hole, did not turn out well. (You can read our 3/10 review Here.) Now Nesbø is seeking redemption for his character by teaming with Working Title and the Netflix streaming service for a series called Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole, which is set to star Tobias Santelmann (The Last Kingdom) as Hole. Let’s not beat around the bush; Marvel’s going through something right now. The superhero studio’s recent output has simply exhausted both casual and hardcore fans alike.
The sentiment appears to be close to universal too: amidst the avalanche of MCU content, there have been too few hits and too many misses. The fact that Bob Iger, Disney’s Chief Executive Officer, has publicly said that they’re going to change strategy and “slowly decrease volume” tells you everything you need to know.
So how does Marvel proceed from here? MCU mastermind Kevin Feige is seemingly planning to course-correct by re-assembling the Avengers sooner rather than later. Next year alone will see the release of Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, The Fantastic Four, and Blade, followed a few months later by a new Avengers—previously subtitled “The Kang Dynasty,” though that’s reportedly been abandoned.
It’s a sensible play.

Beau DeMayo has been at the center of media attention ever since X-Men ’97 started airing. While the show has been an absolute hit, many fans were confused when the executive producer was fired from his position eight days before the series aired. Such a drastic decision was quite surprising, as not only did he produce the series, but he was also the sole creator of it.
Beau DeMayo was an important part of X-Men ’97
Since the news hit the internet, many have been wondering if he will be coming back for the second season now that the first has concluded. While the writer has confirmed that he was a big part of the writing of season 2, his exit made his involvement quite hazy. However, a recent interview may have confirmed his standing with the franchise.

The X-Men have always been some of the most prominent characters in the Marvel comics, even though their film-based adaptations after Logan were not that kindly received by fans. However, with the recently released titular smash-hit animated series and the sequel of the original series from 1992 on these mutants, this band of heroes just may be reclaiming their lost position.

Adding to this are Hugh Jackman and other actors from the movies returning to reprise their iconic mutants in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, which further paves the way for even more actors from the original saga to return. That said, Shawn Ashmore, who played Iceman in the original film series, has expressed his wish to join the Marvel Universe as well.

One of the great things about Netflix is that even as it contributes to the slow mediocritization of filmmaking, it continues to broaden our collective cultural horizons. Yes, for every Kevin Hart's "Lift," which inexplicably had Netflix viewers enraptured earlier this year, there's a foreign film or series that we'd otherwise never have a chance to see. Last year, Indian thriller "Jaane Jaan" topped the Netflix charts in the U.S. while Mexican series "Thursday's Widows" saw similar streaming success stateside.
Now, it's Spain's turn. The country has had a mixed record when it comes to its streaming exports. Last year, god awful Spanish slasher "Killer Book Club" somehow had the Netflix charts in a stranglehold, but the country somewhat redeemed itself with the Oscar-nominated "Society of the Snow," which hit Netflix in January 2024. Now, España has delivered yet another Netflix hit with "El Correo" or "The Courier."

Exclusive: Following the success of her most recent Sony pic Anyone But You, the studio isn’t wasting any time staying in the Sydney Sweeney business as sources tell Deadline Jane and Honey Goldman are in negotiations to pen a new Barbarella pic starring Sweeney with Edgar Wright In Talks to direct. The film is still in development given Sweeney’s busy schedule and Wright deep in prep on his The Running Man reboot with Glen Powell starring, so the project will not be next up for either talent.
Even with it being in development, the Goldman being brought on to pen clearly shows the studio is not messing around in getting the film right as they see this as big franchise for all parties. Jane Goldman has helped launch such successful franchises like the rebooted X-Men movies starring James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as well as Matthew Vaughn’s The Kingsmen: Secret Service.

Celebration of cinema has always been extended by the Oscars honoring the prowess of cinematic excellence with one of the most recognized accolades. Throughout the rich history of cinema, there have been several movies based on true events, that left a mark among moviegoers or in the pages of history.
A still from Lawrence of Arabia
Also, movies that are based on true events are another way of documenting the particular incident, albeit a portion of fictionalization may alter the accuracy, but for cinema’s sake, filmmakers enjoy the basic freedom to have their own touch to the narrative. Throughout history, movies like The Great Ziegfeld by Robert Z. Leonard, or it would be criminal not to mention David Lean’s Lawrence of Arabia, and several other movies have claimed the Best Picture Oscars. Here is a list of six movies that won an Oscar in the Best Picture category.

Kung Fury— a 2015 English-language Swedish martial arts comedy film— is weirdly entertaining, the average critics’ consensus certified the movie fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 86% score. Also, fans have showered their love for the David Sandberg (not to be confused with Shazam! director) written and directed movie.

The sequel of the Sandberg-led movie who played the title character, also starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, Kung Fury 2 has never seen the light of day. Any action fan, or even dedicated viewer of Corridor Crew's "Stuntmen React" series, should know the name Scott Adkins. Long before Adkins went all out for his role as German gangster Killa Harkan in "John Wick: Chapter 4," the British stunt performer and actor made a name for himself working as a stuntman for prominent Hong Kong action directors in the early 2000s. He went on to appear in dozens of action movies, from starring opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme in four separate films to doubling for Ryan Reynolds' Weapon XI in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." For his role as Gunnery Sergeant Barton Geddes in 2019's "Ip Man 4: The Finale," Adkins said star Donnie Yen — who also faced off against Keanu Reeves in "John Wick: Chapter 4" — requested him for the film by name.
Having remained somewhat of a B-movie action star for most of his career, Adkins is finally starting to get more mainstream recognition.

Ian McKellen is one of the most respected and talented actors in Hollywood. Over the course of his lengthy career, he established himself as a force to be reckoned with, achieving so much through his acting career that he was even knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. His versatility knows no limitations, having starred in many different kinds of roles and movies from all genres.
Sir Ian McKellen as Gandolf in The Hobbit
Considering just how talented and successful he is, it is not surprising that the actor is offered many different types of roles. Sometimes that may be through lesser-known sources, and others they may be very high-profile projects.
It would seem that the actor was asked to be a part of Tom Cruise’s iconic film series, Mission: Impossible, being offered the role of Commander Swanbeck in the second movie. Interestingly enough, the actor rejected this offer due to one reason.

Universal Pictures has tapped renowned British filmmaker Andrew Haigh (All of Us Strangers) to write and direct a Leonardo da Vinci film based on Walter Isaacson’s bestselling 2017 biography of the artist, Deadline can confirm.
Based on thousands of pages from Da Vinci’s notebooks and new discoveries about his life and work, the biography looks to connect his art to his science, showing how Leonardo’s genius was based on skills we can improve in ourselves, such as passionate curiosity, careful observation, and an imagination so playful that it flirted with fantasy.
An icon of the Italian Renaissance, Da Vinci was not only a prolific painter but also a polymath excelling in various fields including science, engineering, and anatomy. His masterpieces, the “Mona Lisa,” and “The Last Supper” are among the most recognizable and influential works of art in history.
Christopher Hampton wrote a previous draft of the Da Vinci script.

Any prequel to the Alien series would face a challenge. If we forget for a moment that Alien 3 ever happened, the first two films in the series were absolute classics. They are as influential today as they were when they were first released in 1979 and 1986, respectively.
The main problem with 2017's Alien: Covenant was a departure from what made those two movies so good.
Too much tech, not enough tension
Alien and Aliens are big movies that benefited from an almost B-movie feel. Of course, filmmaking was very different when Ridley Scott's directing career was in its infancy, but you get the sense that he wasn't just working within constraints – he really understood his craft.
Alien: Covenant embraced CGI to such an extent that it often felt like it was so far removed from the originals that it was a different franchise. You certainly wouldn't have guessed that...

Sadly, I always say that I’m still on page 45 of that project,” Helgeland said. “It’s pretty violent and set in the modern day. L.A. Confidential screenwriter Brian Helgeland was attached to write the script for the remake of The Wild Bunch for Tony Scott, and he spilled a few details about the project while speaking with Inverse, including that it would have been set in the modern day.
“I also wrote 45 pages of The Wild Bunch for Tony to direct before he died. Sadly, I always say that I’m still on page 45 of that project,” Helgeland said. “It’s pretty violent and set in the modern day. The plot revolves around L.A. rampart cops that were being sent to prison, but during the trial, they’re still technically free. Sundance Film Festival is heading to London again this summer and the programme is full of cinematic goodies. More below.
The days are getting lighter, the sun is shining ever so slightly more now and we’ve packed away our thickest wool jumpers, although we still need some thick socks. That must mean one thing and one thing only.
Sundance Film Festival: London is almost upon us.
Some might say summer is coming too, but we’re mostly excited for Sundance London, which has just revealed their full programme for this year’s festival. The festival brings a fine selection of films which originally premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, in Park City, Utah. The crème de la crème, so to speak.
The festival will open on 6 June with a screening of Kneecap, Rich Peppiatt’s Irish-language film and draw to a close on 9 June with Sean Wang...

Since 1980, horror and sci fi fans have loved being scared by the Xenomorph and the soulless Weyland-Yutani corporation that wants to study it. Nearly everyone has controversial takes on various films in the franchise: "Prometheus" and Assembly Cut "Alien 3" fans, rise up. "Alien: Covenant" fans, look... we respect you, but that movie makes it tough. But no matter where you land, we're all in love with Ridley Scott's original "Alien." It's a love that's seen high school performances turn into breakout hits, and April 26th (chosen for the Lv-426 colony in "Aliens") become a fandom holiday.
We're always looking for more to explore from the franchise, although sometimes that desire turns into a be-careful-what-you-wish-for "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem" situation. Despite the valleys of the "Alien" franchise, we're still hoping for the best from the upcoming "Alien: Romulus" and Noah Hawley's forthcoming TV series from FX. Meanwhile, we...

Sandra Yi Sencindiver has joined the cast of FX’s Alien series, while some new details on its plot and setting have also emerged.
Ending a drought of about seven years, this August’s Alien: Romulus will be the first movie in the series since 2017’s Alien: Covenant. Beyond that, there’s FX’s TV series on the way, which is said to be due to air (or stream) in 2025.
As filming on the series continues in Thailand, a new member has been added to the cast: Sandra Yi Sencindiver, perhaps best known for her work on another sci-fi series, Foundation.
First reported by Deadline, the casting announcement also comes with some plot and setting details that, at least to our tiny minds, sound rather new. The outlet states that the series will “take place on Earth and has been reported to deal with the emergence of the story’s...

Once upon a time … in war-torn London, Winston Churchill found himself face to face with the potential end of England as he knew it. The Blitz was in full effect. Europe was slowly being crushed under Hitler’s boot heels. German U-boats had turned the Atlantic into a graveyard, effectively crippling the Allied war effort. The prime minister needed an effective counterpunch.
So he asked several officials within the nation’s intelligence community, including a naval officer named Ian Fleming, to help recruit soldiers, secret agents, scallywags, and — God help...
