- For ABC's 1985 network television premiere, Marty's hallucination is altered so instead of him ripping his own face off, he sees his face rapidly deteriorate briefly.
- The 1997 VHS and DVD, and 1999 DVD from MGM, and 2000 DVD from Warner Bros. feature an entirely different end credits sequence. The credits begin roughly 15 seconds earlier, over the tracking shot of the Holiday Inn, and the sequence in which they appear is different entirely, including some re-arranging on the cast list, and Martin Casella's name being changed to "Marty Casella." The 25th Anniversary DVD and Blu-ray Disc, and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray restore the original theatrical credits sequence, henceforth making it a more accurate representation of the film's theatrical exhibition than previous VHS and DVD releases.
