Young Sheldon: Funeral (2024)
Loved the first half hour
I thought the first part of the two-part ending was absolutely brilliant. A perfect blend of comedy while dealing with an extremely sad subject matter. I Loved watching all the different scenarios Sheldon played out in his head of how he wished he had said something to his father before he left the house for the final time. Then the second part happened. I know I'll probably be in the minority here, but Sheldon and Amy added nothing. Totally unnecessary. Nothing funny. I also didn't need to see Mary obsess about the children getting baptized. What I would have liked to have seen is Mary comfort her children in their time of grief. Especially Missy who was obviously going through some very serious anger issues. I really don't know what to make of the last 30 minutes. I would've been happy with the series ending after the first 30 minutes. However a great series. One of the best of all time!!!!
Young Sheldon: A Fancy Article and a Scholarship for a Baby (2024)
Bad Writing/Dr Sturgis
Dr Sturgis conspiring against Sheldon to keep him in Texas was a terrible look. And then he brings up his mother's religious beliefs as a way to complete the plan. This is the same 'mother' who's had him over for dinner on countless occasions and some of those occasions when he was flat out down and out on his luck. Like I said he does eventually come to his senses, but his initial response should have been what was best for Sheldon. Bad writing! It seems like it's been a while since we even saw Dr Sturgis and this is the best they could do with his character? There's even a scene where Dr Sturgis and Dr Linkletter are made out to be total buffoons as if they were some idiot 3rd rate scientists. It wasn't an entirely bad episode, it did had some laughs, but when you invest in characters for 7 years...you hate to see a lovable character like Dr Sturgis act so out of character.
The Big Bang Theory: The Cornhusker Vortex (2009)
The Continuation Problem
When Leonard and Howard ask Sheldon how he knows so much about football???Sheldon talks about growing up in Texas. However he doesn't mention one ioda about his father being a high school football coach. If only the writers of Big Bang Theory had a crystal ball and they could see what takes place with the future hit Young Sheldon. BBT would have never have had Sheldon and Sheldon's mom say such terrible things about his father throughout the BBT series. The Young Sheldon writers would loved to have not had this problem because anybody who watches Young Sheldon knows that the dad actually plays a quite lovable character. So now it becomes very complicated on how to write out the George character on Young Sheldon. This was a typically funny Big Bang Theory episode but for anybody that watches Young Sheldon they know that it would be quite odd for Sheldon not to have immediately brought up that his dad was a high school football coach when asked about the subject.
The Big Bang Theory: The Proton Displacement (2013)
Touching
When professor proton asks Leonard about how could he it be friends with Sheldon??? Leonard tells him that Sheldon's is 'broken' but speaks of his good qualities and how they need each other. This is a rare touching explanation from Leonard as to why he puts up with Sheldon. Bob Newhart is a comedy legend. Hard to believe that it took all the way to the big bang theory for Bob Newhart to win his first emmy. The downside of the episode was the subplot with the other characters which boring. Raj who is a good character but probably the least funniest out of the bunch was really annoying in this episode with more whining than his usual. However, Professor Proton, Leonard and Sheldon more than made up for it. Solid 8!
The Big Bang Theory: The Bow Tie Asymmetry (2018)
STUART!
There are two really great moments in this episode that nobody else mentioned. Firstly was when Penny put Amy's mother in her place. Secondly and quite hilariously was when Stewart with a rare show of confidence was (showing up) Mark Hamell by answering the questions from the audience that Hamill didn't know how to answer. Of course this led to Stewart's date being extremely turned on. Also very funny. And then finally toward the end of the episode when Hamill complains about having had to answer questions for 45 minutes... Stewart turns to his date and says 'yeah he answered the questions'. This was a great episode all around but a special shout out to Stewart!
The Office: Survivor Man (2007)
'The choice is Yours'
'Dwight will drive me deep into the Pennsylvania Wilderness wear I'll either die or survive...The choice is yours'. 'No actually the choice is yours'.
The Big Bang Theory: The Emotion Detection Automation (2017)
Dumb!
Penny inviting her her brother to stay at the house without asking Leonard is just Dumb! Lazy writing. It's not logical that anybody would do this in a marriage without at least asking their partner first.
The King of Queens: Gym Neighbors (2005)
UNDERRATED
This episode was absolutely hilarious! Kevin James, Leah Remini, and Jerry Stiller each should have won several Emmy awards for the 'King of Queens'. The King of Queens would get killed in a one-on-one poll against Seinfeld but it was the better written show and had the funniest character...(Arthur Spooner) played by the late great Jerry Stiller.
Friends: The One Where Estelle Dies (2004)
Phoebe
Phoebe's impersonation of Estelle was really funny. Lisa Kudrow is so underrated. Watching in syndication I now believe she was the funniest character on the show. The Ross Rachel storyline in this episode was forgettable.
Next Level Chef (2022)
Game show is right!
So I guess our next great chefs of the world are going to be determined by how many ingredients they can grab in 30 seconds. And it's so amazing that when the people that do forget the major proteins or ingredients always end up with such fabulous dishes against All odds. At least the dinner services on Hell's kitchen can be entertaining. This show spending 30 to 40 minutes on watching people prepare dishes is like watching paint dry.
Young Sheldon: A Computer, a Plastic Pony, and a Case of Beer (2018)
Divorce Worthy
The husband did ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong here and has every right to be upset that his wife has been secretly hiding money for years. She's the one who should be apologizing! Marriage is a partnership. You share everything. You don't hide things and keep secrets! Marriages have fallen apart on much less than this.
Friends: The One with the Proposal: Part 1 (2000)
Matthew Perry
I got some down votes due to my negative review of this episode but after re-watching the episode after Matthew Perry's death I realize that he had some really funny lines and some brilliant moments in this episode. When he tells Ross that 'if you're not careful you might not get married at all this year'...was a really funny line. And Matthew Perry's facial expressions during the dinner with Richard was also really funny and his reaction to Richard's toast (with just one word) was absolutely BRILLIANT and one of my most favorite moments of the series. After the dinner with Richard I felt like there was some mistreatment towards Monica but I digress. Rest in peace... Matthew Perry!
Gunsmoke: Daddy-O (1957)
Not Impressed
Call me naive but it's not everyday in life where a father that abandoned you as a child comes back to try and swindle you. It would have been so much of a better episode if the father indeed had reformed and Kitty agreed to go back with him until she realized that she didn't want to leave Matt. Another storyline would have been better if it turned out that he was a con man just pretending to be her father. And how could he have possibly have thought pretending to be a rich man would not cause great suspicion when he asked Kitty to take her money out and invest it in his business. Not impressed.
Friends: The One with the Flashback (1996)
Not Believable
Joey taking his clothes off in Monica's apartment was not only not funny but it was actually quite disturbing. But what I can't forgive is Rachel having not seen Monica in a few years and NOT even mentioning or noticing Monica's weight loss. RIDICULOUS! It would have been more plausible if Rachel hadn't even of recognized Monica.
Friends: The One with Monica and Chandler's Wedding: Part 1 (2001)
Matthew Perry
I erased my negative view of this episode out of respect to the late great Matthew Perry. Rest in peace Matthew!
Friends: The One on the Last Night (1999)
The worst of friends!
The whole 'Cups' game was Really Stupid. Even Joey is not dumb enough not to realize that Chandler is just trying to give him money.
And the fact that Ross would take $1,500 from a struggling Joey is even More Dumb! Part 2. How selfish is Monica by opening up all the presents by herself? Why Monica is so depressed after her wedding really makes no sense. Phoebe lying to Rachel about the results of the pregnancy test was just cruel! The Chandlers slippery shoes storyline was just riveting. And then he has to put tape on the bottom of his shoes to dance. Real funny. (NOT). When Rachel tells Tad that she's pregnant, he doesn't even bother to ask if the baby is his. That would have been the first words out of any man's mouth. Instead he just runs away. Chandler kisses and basically ACCOSTS another woman right after his wedding? Really? ...and all because of a ridiculous lost cameras plot. Watch the Office episode 'Niagra' which is about Jim and Pam's wedding to learn Exactly how to mix 'Goofy and Joyful' at the same time.
Friends: The One with the Embryos (1998)
MONICA
In my opinion one of the funniest lines in the ENTIRE series is when Monica tells Rachel...'I hate this as much as you. But if it makes you feel any better, this is all your fault'. Of course it was actually Monica that was almost 100% at fault for betting the apartment in the first place. Classic!
Columbo: It's All in the Game (1993)
SHAME on every Positive Review!
I love 1970s Columbo. And before any one of you gives a thumbs down to my review, ask yourself this question? Would 1970's Columbo allow another woman to buy him clothes in the name of solving a case? Let alone let her give him a passionate kiss? Of course not!!!!!. This episode is an Embarrassment to 1970's Colombo.
Columbo: A Stitch in Crime (1973)
Great Episode. Bad Ending.
In the closing scene the second that Columbo left the room the doctor should've ran straight to the bathroom and flush the sutures right down the toilet. (Case Closed). Classic scene in the doctor's office when Columbo loses his temper.
Columbo: Columbo Goes to the Guillotine (1989)
Lost potential
I love 1970's Columbo. And I can assure you that 1970's Columbo would NOT have risked his life by allowing himself to be put into a guillotine. I say lost potential because it was one of the better later episodes if not for those ridiculous guillotine scenes.
Columbo: Grand Deceptions (1989)
Boring!
Robert Foxworth is right up there with one of the series most boring villains. I originally wrote that Janet Eilber, the actress who played General Padget's wife, was a sympathetic character in this movie because she had guilt about cheating on her husband that she loves...who just happens to be in a wheelchair. But after second thought, she's not sympathetic. She cheated on her husband with a sleaze bag. The only likable character in the movie is General Padget play by actor Stephen Elliott. Of course I would rather usually watch a bad Columbo compared to what other options there are.
The Office: Threat Level Midnight (2011)
CLASSIC!
I had more 'LOL' moments during this episode then 99% of any movie comedy I've ever seen!
Star Trek: Turnabout Intruder (1969)
What a way to go out!
The premise wasn't very 'logical' and I thought the ending could have been written much better. However, this was a very enjoyable episode. It's a shame it would be the last. And anyone who's ever doubted that William Shatner cannot act really should watch this episode!
Friends: The One Where Ross Moves In (1998)
Crazy Rachel
I thought this was definitely one of Jennifer Aniston's most funniest performances. The other two story lines were decent but "Crazy" Rachel really steals this episode.
Supernatural: The Things We Left Behind (2014)
Decent
Started out extremely slow but in the end it was a pretty decent episode. I give it a 7. I found myself rooting against the young girl...her behavior was mostly atrocious.
