The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Not good, not bad. It's just there.
Between all the positive and negative hype, I decided to see it for myself.
I liked LotR and I loved The Hobbit.
Both caught me in seconds because of the fantastic soundtrack and the amazing love for the details in storytelling and characters
These points are not (yet) given in this TV Series.
A lot and lot of cgi and missed chances to show the same love for the project as Peter Jackson brought to the table.
After 2 episodes this all feels cheap and the story a bit pointless. Introducing characters is important, but as of now theres not enough depth in the overall package...
BUT: it has the potential to be great, but it has to go a long way to get there. Hope is still there.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
Feels like Star Trek
Finally a Star Trek show, that brings back the slow paced story telling, the original series and movies brought to us.
I hope they keep going with the way they are telling the story for each episode instead of making it to another pew pew show.
Jungle Cruise (2021)
We need more old fashioned adventures like this.
I loved this movie. So much fun, so much adventure. It's all about entertainment and this is done wonderfully here.
How good is Jesse Plemons? Fantastic! Every scene was fantastic and his german was great.
We all need more adventure.
Downhill (2020)
Depressing waste of time
First of all: This is not comedy. Do not expect any laughs.
It's not fun to watch. This movie has no highlights and puts you in a depressing mood.
The cast and the category suggest that this could be funny at any point, but it is not.
This movie does not even transport a clear message and it's sad to see those great actors doing this.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 13: The Jedi (2020)
This is a 12/10. amazing.
This episode is unbelievably good. Dave Filoni is just the heart and soul of Star Wars and brings in the best of it. Loved every minute.
MasterChef Celebrity (2020)
Terrible jury ruins the whole show
The German show lacks of drama, but this not the contenders fault.
The jury is the worst possible. Always breathing in the necks of the contenders and standing in their way.
Terrible behavior, not helping but criticizing the contenders. Wannabe peptalks which are ridiculous and all but authentic.
Obviously nobody ever watched Masterchef Australia, USA or UK and took out the character of the fantastic show.
Ted Lasso: The Diamond Dogs (2020)
It's a 10/10
Again heartwarming, surprising and funny.
From the gathering of the Diamond Dogs to the dart game (oh, I forgot. I am left handed) then there is this moving underdog story, which describes exactly Teds story with the team, the club and the fans.
You can feel him, his history and see how and why he succeeded in his past and surely in the future.
It's so simple: this is the most beautiful tv series out there.
Ted Lasso (2020)
So much heart in a tv series... was unexpected
Ted Lasso is set as a comedy, but turns out to be a very lovely and warm hearted comedy drama (in the most positive way possible). The characters are very well written and are represented by fine actors who fits perfect. The story is also well written and mile stones are set perfectly.
It's a feel good series and I think it's hard not to like after you get into it. I love it and can't get enough of it.
Middleditch & Schwartz (2020)
Awesome
This might be the best thing you can see. And - believe it or not - gets better watching a second and a third time.
Unbelievably talented guys really rocking the stage.
Dark (2017)
A Masterpiece.
German Actors can do a lot, so can their writers. It's complicated, dark, super entertaining and should be recognized by the world biggest awards, because there not many tv series like that.
Better Call Saul: Bad Choice Road (2020)
The best of the best of the best
Hands down, this is the best you might see on any tv series. Just wow. Better call Saul will pick up any award with this season. It's written just so fantastic. Actors are totally on point on every scene. This is a masterpiece of entertainment.
Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)
Entertaining and Fun
I was super entertained and the charakter switching was real fun. Seeing Dwayne Johnson's Danny DeVito impression was absolutely fun. Same with Jack Black.
There is no point in searching for a deep story, just enjoy the show. It's worth the time.
Friends: The One Where No One's Ready (1996)
Amazing episode.
This might be one of the best episodes ever. No special storyline, but that's not what it's about. It's about a episode in real-time with a timing that is on point from every character. The only - but nearly impossible - improvement could be, if it would be made in one single take.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 7: The Reckoning (2019)
Cliffhanger from hell
Amazing episode. But the end.... dude... how can they do this to us...? 9 days waiting? Are you kidding me?
The saddest thing on the whole series and especially this episode is, that it's just to short to bring more background story of the new characters. I hope Favreau, Chow and Filoni will give the next season 10 more minutes every episode to see a bit more story for the characters.
This is the Star Wars we all hoped for. Fantastic job.
The Morning Show: The Interview (2019)
Boom
This one is freaking fantastic and it's the episode we waited for the last few weeks.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
The hating is ridiculous.
This is not the OT, people. And it's time to understand this. It seems that people went to see the movie to find things they don't like. the movie was super entertaining. The story send a message about love, friendship and sacrifices. It's not flawless, but it's fine. The presentation was fantastic. The score is fantastic.
Nobody in the theatre was disappointed or was complaining afterwards, therefore I can not confirm all those hating.
I seriously recommend to watch this movie without trying to find all the smallest flaws and just enjoy it.
This movie is NOT a 1/10. Those ratings are just childish.
No (Star Wars) movie will ever satisfy people, who expect to relive their amazing childhood experience.
I love the OT, but I see this trilogy as what it is. It was a new start for a new generation, which brought in old characters to make the transition. Like it or not, but that's what it is.
Yesterday (2019)
Loved it.
I really loved the idea and did not get tired of it. The story was told nicely. It was a bit foreseeable but brought a well earned Happy End to the movie. The music was outstanding... did we expect something else? No.
I already regret renting the movie instead of buying it.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Terrible last season for the best tv series of all time (until this)
Years of story and character building for the worst season possible.
How can someone sit there and say: yes, this is how we do it this season, that is good!?
The Haunting of Hill House: Witness Marks (2018)
Holy ...
You remember being shocked in the other episodes? This one doubles it easily.
I am not a horror fan at all, but this Is the best horror series out there.
