Stevie Van Zandt has taken Low Cut Connie’s 2023 song “Are You Gonna Run?” and given it some E Street Band flavor in a new remix.
The song originally appeared on Low Cut Connie’s 2023 LP Art Dealers. “The new version is just thicker sounding, kind of unapologetically classic rock,” Adam Weiner a.k.a. Low Cut Connie tells Rolling Stone. “The original is really sweet but a little more mysterious. The new version isn’t mysterious at all. It’s desperate and honest. His voice and guitar has that...

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have become rock royalty, but there are still many artists Springsteen admires. Like many musicians in his generation, Springsteen grew up listening to The Beatles. There was another band that thrilled him from a young age, though.
Bruce Springsteen said one band changed the course of his life
In 2015, Springsteen presented The Who’s Pete Townshend with the Stevie Ray Vaughan award. In his speech, Springsteen spoke about his experience seeing The Who when he was a teenager.
“I was a young, pimply-faced teenager who managed to scrap enough together to go see my first rock concert ever,” he said, per Rolling Stone. “Pete and the Who were young pimply-faced teenagers with a record contract, a tour and a rude, aggressive magic. They were on this tour, of all things, opening for Herman’s Hermits [laughter]. There was no justice.”

Bruce Springsteen is in his acting era. The Boss joined Larry David on Sunday’s episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. In the episode, Springsteen blames the cancelation of one of his “farewell” shows on David giving him Covid.
During the episode, Springsteen meets with David to talk about the cranky comedian’s activism in Atlanta. (This season, David is awaiting trial in Georgia for offering water to a voter outside of a polling place.) Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band kicked off their 2024 tour with a blazing 29-song performance at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday night. It marked the band’s first performance since Springsteen was forced to postpone the remainder of the band’s 2023 tour due to a bout with peptic ulcer disease.
Thankfully, The Boss now appears to be fully recovered. The 29-song set stuck closely to the epic shows Springsteen played towards the end of his 2023 run, including performances of “Night,” “Darlington County,” “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” “Spirit in the Night,” “Mary’s Place,” and “Backstreets.” Once again, the encore proved particularly stellar, featuring “Born To Run,” “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight),” “Glory Days,” “Dancing in the Dark,” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out.”

The late, great James Gandolfini began acting in the early 1980s, but it was "The Sopranos" that made him a star. And it was a stardom that seemingly always made the performer uncomfortable. Up until his big break on the HBO series, Gandolfini appeared as small supporting characters in films like "True Romance" and "Get Shorty." It was the role of Tony Soprano that launched him into a kind of superstardom. Gandolfini was so good as troubled mob boss Tony Soprano that it was almost scary; he fully embodied the character, and seemingly everything he did with the part — be it raising his voice or simply, and quietly, raising his eyebrows — became something to obsess over. We are worse off without him around, continuing to deliver memorable roles (Gandolfini died in 2013 at the far-too-young age of 51).

In any conversation about the greatest TV shows of all time, you can count on The Sopranos being mentioned high up the list. David Chase’s beloved series reframed and interrogated the gangster genre in longform, unspooling the life of James Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano – both in his domestic setting, and as the head of the Soprano crime family. Across its six seasons, it dealt out complex character development, shocking deaths, and one of the most-discussed finales of all time – several of the reasons it ends up in the upper echelons of any greatest-ever list. And now, in a major new roundtable interview with Empire to celebrate 25 years since The Sopranos debuted, Chase himself has named his favourite moments across the whole series.
Sitting down with cast members Lorraine Bracco, Steven Van Zandt and Edie Falco, Chase discussed his two standout moments in The Sopranos. “Neither of them is really...

25 years ago, television changed forever. It was at the start of 1999 that HBO aired the first episode of The Sopranos – the groundbreaking gangster drama that took the cinematic tropes of The Godfather and Goodfellas and turned them longform. With its then-contemporary depiction of a crime family – both the underworld operation run by James Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano, and the domestic Soprano household – facing up to the realities of 21st Century life and a tidal shift in mobster generations, it was both a deconstruction of and gripping addition to the gangster canon. In the likes of Tony, and Lorraine Bracco’s therapist Dr. Melfi, and Steven Van Zandt’s hard-headed Silvio Dante, and Edie Falco’s long-suffering wife Carmela Soprano, it introduced some of the greatest characters to ever grace the small screen.

There have been some truly incredible cameos on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" over the years, ranging from all of the gang's spouses to director Guillermo del Toro, who is nearly unrecognizable as Pappy McPoyle. Often, the cameos come about because the main cast knew someone — del Toro worked with star Charlie Day on "Pacific Rim," for example — but sometimes, they really try to reach beyond their circle of friends and acquaintances. Sometimes it works, while other times they're totally out of luck. The season 4 episode "Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life" is a perfect example of both, because there are some wonderful cameos and one that just sadly didn't work out.
In the episode, Dennis (Glenn Howerton) wants to publish his erotic memoirs, but Frank (Danny DeVito) and Mac (Rob McElhenney) point out that the stories inside are totally make-believe and could open them up to litigation -- for example,...

Despite her years on The Sopranos, Drea De Matteo had two kids, a mother with dementia, a flooded house, a massive unpaid mortgage bill and $10 in the bank when she decided to post racy photos on the subscription site OnlyFans. The impact was immediate.
“I was like, holy sh*t,” recalled the actress in a recent interview. “In five minutes, I was able to pay back Compass real estate who kept the sale of my house.”
De Matteo has spoken of the decision before, citing a loss of work due to her vaccine stance and issues paying her mortgage, but never fully revealed the extent of the financial bind that she was in.

Soon after Bill Bradley takes the stage in Rolling Along: An American Story, there’s a realization that this is not a traditional political documentary of talking heads, archival clips and fleeting reflections.
The project instead is a “performative autobiography,” as Bradley, the former NBA champion, U.S. senator and presidential candidate, calls it.
During the 90-minute, one-man show, Bradley talks, in poetic terms at times, about reaching the heights of fame and suffering stinging losses. He recounts a life growing up in Crystal City, Mo, becoming a star athlete in high school, attending Princeton and then playing the New York Knicks. He speaks of how the teamwork skills helped open his eyes to the world and led to his political career, culminating in his 2000 bid for the presidency. The classic show “The Sopranos” began its life on HBO on January 10, 1999, single handedly launching the Golden Age of Cable Drama. It’s difficult to recall now, but when the show premiered, HBO was not yet HBO, and original programming outside of network primetime was still in its infancy. Creator David Chase crafted a series at once dark and comedic, violent and emotionally vibrant. It introduced the world to entertainment’s ultimate antihero in Italian-American mob boss Tony Soprano, played with power, pathos and perturbation by James Gandolfini. Beset by depression and panic attacks, he showed us what “The Godfather” never did: a gangster in therapy, regularly visiting the office of New Jersey psychotherapist Dr. Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco) to download his many troubles and come to terms with a toxic mother Livia (Nancy Marchand). Tony’s long-suffering wife Carmela (pitch-perfect work from Edie Falco) and precocious daughter Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) completed his female-surrounding quartet.

The Oates appearance comes at quite a coincidental moment: He and Hall have been in the news recently after a falling out (and Hall’s lawsuit) over Oates’ plan to sell his share of their joint venture.
“I can’t really talk about it,” Oates told Variety last week. “I don’t really want to talk about it. It...

“People find that hard to believe that I was never really paid very much money for any of the jobs I’ve done,” Sopranos actress Drea de Matteo said about her decision to post racy content on subscription site OnlyFans. “People think I’m f***ing made of gold, and I’m not. I’ve worked job to job.”
OnlyFans started in 2016 and quickly gained notoriety as a place people could view Nsfw content. Celebrities who have embraced the platform include Denise Richards, Cardi B, Bella Thorne, Tyga and Chris Brown.
De Matteo told Fox News Digital that her own decision to join sprang from a production slowdown during the pandemic, what she says is a loss of work due to her vaccine stance and, above all else, a desire to take care of her kids.
“Things have changed in the last three years. My kids have always been my No.

Bob Dylan has shared a statement on the passing of Robbie Robertson, The Band guitarist who backed Dylan during his legendary electric period.
“This is shocking news,” Dylan said. “Robbie was a lifelong friend. His passing leaves a vacancy in the world.”
Dylan and Robertson met in 1965, and Dylan quickly hired The Hawks — the original name of The Band — to perform as his backing band. In 1965 and 1966, Dylan performed two sets on tour: one of the acoustic folk music that made him famous, and one set, featuring The Hawks, that signified his controversial progression toward electric guitar.
In 1967, The Hawks joined Dylan in Woodstock, New York to work on new music. These sessions formed the basis of The Band’s 1968 record Music from Big Pink, and recordings featuring Dylan later appeared on 1975’s The Basement Tapes. Following their debut as The Band, Robertson and company redirected their attention to their own music,...

Steven Van Zandt worked with Bruce Springsteen long before he took a role on The Sopranos. In 1999, when he accepted the role on The Sopranos, he also rejoined the E Street Band. While it may have been a challenge to balance his new acting career with music, it was perfect for Van Zandt. He built his Sopranos character at least partly off his relationship with Springsteen.
Steven Van Zandt based his ‘Sopranos’ character on his real relationship with Bruce Springsteen
After leaving the E Street Band in 1984, Van Zandt officially rejoined in 1999. That same year, he accepted his first-ever acting role as Silvio Dante on The Sopranos. Los Angeles, June 29 (Ians) Rock music legend Bruce Springsteen is returning to London’s Hyde Park — where he was famously cut off 11 years ago — in July.
But this time, the organisers said, ‘The Boss’ will not be silenced. Bruce is going to take stage earlier, at around 7 p.m., so his ‘notoriously’ long set won’t run over and fall foul of the 10.30 p.m. curfew dedaline, reports ‘The Mirror’.
A source said the scheduling would ensure that the icon gets to play all his hits with no interruption when he takes to the stage next on July 6 and July 8.
The source told ‘The Mirror’, “Fans needn’t worry… There will be plenty of time to hear what will be two historic sets.”
The 73-year-old, whose hits include ‘Born In The U.S.A.’, ‘Dancing In The Dark’, and ‘Streets of Philadelphia’, among many others, last played at the Hyde...

Steven Van Zandt and Bruce Springsteen have worked together for years, but Van Zandt temporarily left the E Street Band in 1984. He wanted to pursue a solo music career. While he found some success, he soon realized he’d made a huge, life-changing mistake. He explained why he had so many regrets about the decision and how he eventually found his way back to the E Street Band.
Steven Van Zandt quit touring with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
Van Zandt and Springsteen met as teenagers and collaborated frequently before Van Zandt joined the E Street Band in 1975. The group found widespread success that year with Born to Run. It wasn’t until 1984’s Born in the USA, though, that the band truly exploded. It was their most commercially successful album and became one of the best-selling albums of all time. Van Zandt, unfortunately, wasn’t there to reap the benefits.

Long before Live Nation, Clear Channel, Ticketmaster, Stubhub, service fees, gold-circle seats, and anything that even resembles the live music industry as we know it today, there was Ron Delsener. The 87-year-old concert promoter has been booking shows in New York City going all the way back to the summer of 1964, when he brought the Beatles to Forest Hills Tennis Stadium for two nights. (Tickets were $5.50 plus a 45-cent federal tax.)
In the decades that followed, Delsener grew into the undisputed live music kingpin of New York, booking thousands upon...
