So with Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game, you’ve got the Chiodo Bros. involved, you’ve got the classic Dickies song, and you’ve got the classic Klown mannerisms with the gameplay. So what more do you want? How about female Klowns?
With IllFonic’s panel at Pax East yesterday, Stephen Chiodo accidentally let loose news that female Klowns will be coming to the game (which X user Nyzechu caught on film). “That wasn’t on my list of things not to say,” Stephen joked before Edward Chiodo told attendees to refrain from telling anyone. “I think I’m gonna be cocooned,” said Stephen.
“You know what? You’ve gotta let the little things out of the bag. It’s not gonna ruin anything,” Charles Chiodo quipped. The panel did go on to say that they do have more klowns and more content for the game that they haven’t talked about.

You’d think it would be a given that any new project that serves as a follow-up to the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) would need to feature two very important elements: the klowns and the famous theme song by The Dickies… but the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game is missing one of those elements, as The Dickies have confirmed that their theme song is not being used for the game.
The announcement was made on The Dickie’s Facebook page: Got some gnarly news to share, a true bummer: The Dickies’ Killer Klowns from Outer Space theme song won’t be in upcoming Killer Klowns Video Game. Yeah, makes ya feel a bit gutted. Like a total slap in the face after all the love and loyalty fans have given that song for 36 years. The band really appreciates that you’ve...

Thirty-five years down the line from the release of the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here), fans of the film have access to a whole lot of tie-in merchandise, have made their way through Killer Klowns-themed mazes at Halloween Horror Nights events, and have a video game to look forward to… but we still haven’t seen the sequel the film’s creators have been anxious to make for decades. Now, speaking with SFX magazine, Killer Klowns from Outer Space director Stephen Chiodo has revealed that he’s hoping to bring the sequel idea to life as an eight episode mini-series!
Chiodo told SFX (with thanks to Coming Soon for sharing the text), “My goal is to do an eight-part miniseries for streamers. We’ve got a great concept that continues the story of our main characters. We’ll follow a new group of teenagers...

Then we got to know the team at Teravision and knew we were going to make this happen. For decades, the 1988 film Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) was a little-known cult film that never got the sequel it deserved… and while it still hasn’t received the sequel it deserves, it’s clear that its cult following has gotten quite large. Spirit Halloween stores are packed with Killer Klowns items, a Killer Klowns haunted house was part of Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, Trick or Treat Studios created Killer Klowns action figures, and there’s a video game on the way. Now Spirit Halloween has started taking orders for one of the most impressive collectible display items a die-hard Killer Klowns from Outer Space fan could get their hands on: a 6 foot cotton candy cocoon, complete with the face of a victim sticking out of the cotton candy!

The good folks at Good Shepherd Entertainment have posted a new blog entry over at the official site for Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game, once again focusing on The Chiodo Brothers. This time the trio gives new fans a rundown on some of the ideas that they generated while writing Killer Klowns.

Back in 1988, the Chiodo Brothers brought us the cult classic horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) – and pretty much ever since, they have been hoping to get the chance to make a sequel to the film. The brothers have been patiently waiting for decades now to dive back into the world of Killer Klowns, and the game gives them a unique opportunity to expand upon the mythology. Chatting with ComicBook.com, the Chiodo Bros. tease what that means for longtime fans.

“Marcel the Shell With Shoes On” is based on Dean Fleischer Camp and Jenny Slate’s beloved stop-motion animated short films of the same name, which have garnered over 50 million views on YouTube since their 2010 debut, plus two New York Times best-selling children’s books. Slate voices Marcel, an adorable one-inch-tall seashell who lives a colorful existence with his grandmother Connie (Isabella Rossellini) and their pet lint, Alan.

A24 announced today that it has acquired North American rights to Marcell the Shell with Shoes On, a stop-motion feature from Dean Fleischer Camp, which premiered to critical acclaim at the 2021 Telluride Film Festival. Deadline hears that the company nabbed rights in a competitive situation involving at least three other major distributors.
The film centers on Marcel, an adorable one-inch-tall shell who ekes out a colorful existence with his grandmother Connie and their pet lint, Alan. Once part of a sprawling community of shells, they now live alone as the sole survivors of a mysterious tragedy. But when a documentary filmmaker discovers them amongst the clutter of his Airbnb, the short film he posts online brings Marcel millions of passionate fans, as well as unprecedented dangers and a new hope at finding his long-lost family.

Whether it’s Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer or The Nightmare Before Christmas, who doesn’t love a bit of stop-motion animation during the holidays? Presumably, most people are fans of the genre and Netflix looks like they might be about to deliver another classic this November in the form of Alien XMas, a new special from Killer Klowns from Outer Space directors the Chiodo brothers.
Alien XMas will tell the story of adorable extraterrestrial X, who comes to the North Pole as part of an invasion force intent on swiping the Earth’s gravity. X will find a home with Santa Claus and the elves, though, and so will help defend the planet from the other evil aliens. As you can see from this trailer, the movie looks lovingly made with an old-fashioned spirit to it, but also promises to provide a fun twist on the usual tropes of Christmas films.

Not recommended for anyone with a fear of clowns, 1988’s Killer Klowns from Outer Space has developed a cult reputation for its bizarre premise and special effects. While things have gone quiet recently on a proposed follow-up for Syfy and a long-gestating sequel, the original movie has recently been getting some renewed attention on Netflix. What’s perhaps overlooked about the Chiodo Brothers-produced film, though, is the sheer number of kills, something that ScreenRant have now picked up on, via YouTube channel Dead Meat.
Focusing on a race of evil space clowns who arrive in a small American town to wreak havoc, Killer Klowns from Outer Space features some grotesque creature designs, and an all-in commitment to pulling off some creative kills. The latter can be attributed to the Chiodo Brothers’ background in special effects, with the three brothers’ other credits including the likes of Critters and Ernest Scared Stupid.

You know what’s cool right now? Clowns. Between the It movies and last year’s Joker, clowns have become a popular storytelling device for dark films.
But what if we took it one step further and made them from outer space? Well, turns out it already happened in 1988 with the release of the cult classic, Killer Klowns from Outer Space. The movie flopped in theaters, but once it reached the home video market, it became a sensation. With so many reboots and sequels happening, it might be time for Killer Klowns to have its turn now and one of the pic’s co-creators, Edward Chiodo, is happy with handing the reins over to another filmmaker with a new perspective.
“That’s certainly part of the conversation. Not that we claim to know everything, we do have a pretty unique understanding of how the Klowns operate and what that universe is,...

A campy horror-comedy premise, incomparably cheesy monster designs from the famous Chiodo Brothers and a kick-ass theme song by The Dickies are three things that could only have come together in a movie made in the ’80s, and that’s exactly when Killer Klowns From Outer Space was produced, a fact that is abundantly clear in every second of its runtime. And luckily for subscribers, we’re not making an early April Fool’s joke when we say that the cult classic hit has been confirmed to make its triumphant return to Netflix after a prolonged absence on April 1st.
The film hit theaters on May 27th, 1988 and has enjoyed a healthy variety of releases on VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray, building a reputation as a campy classic and arguably one of the most iconic titles in the prolific legacy of legendary horror special effects artists Stephen, Charles and Edward Chiodo,...

Killer Klowns from Outer Space was always one of those movies that I knew I had to see but never got round to it, but through Netflix I got lucky. Finally getting to see it I saw what all the fuss was about and just why it is seen as a cult classic. Now Arrow Video have given it their treatment on a dual DVD and Blu-ray release and with plenty of special features it’s enough to make you drool.
When a small town is invaded by aliens from outer space the local cops take no notice of the calls for help, especially Mooney (John Vernon) who doesn’t take the description of the aliens seriously…...

Clowns. Who doesn’t hate clowns? Who doesn’t fear them? Even though some crazy people see them as adorable comedy figures in a circus, most sane folks are terrified of these things. Maybe it’s the innate human fear of someone wearing a mask, even if that mask is make-up. Whatever the case, clowns have been a source of nightmares in film (such as in Stephen King’s It) and in real life (like the creepy clown figure that stalked the streets of Northampton, U.K., recently). It was this near-ubiquitous fear that drove the Chiodo Brothers to make the film Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Meant to be an homage to 50s monster movies like The Blob, Killer Klowns from Outer Space was a ludicrous low-budget movie that became a worldwide hit. In honor of the Northampton clown being unmasked, and enjoying some midnight horror movies during the month of October, it...
