Rowan Karrer
- Visual Effects
Rowan Karrer is a 3D artist and compositor born in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. He studied a Bachelor of Arts at Charles Sturt University majoring in Animation and Visual Effects. He graduated with distinction and the Dean's Award in December 2011.
His early experience in computer graphics was in the fields of scientific and architectural visualisation. His clients included nobel prize winning scientists with the Australian National University, as well as some of Australia's largest developers, Mirvac, Lendlease and Meriton.
Rowan then progressed to video game cinematics and high-end television commercials. In January 2016 he began to specialise in what would become his primary specialisation - lighting. His clients included Plastic Wax, Warner Bros, and Mighty Nice, amongst others. From this position, Rowan progressed to feature film visual effects, working on several high end feature films, including Peter Rabbit, and Lego 2 - The Second Part. During this process Rowan pursued additional education to add an additional specialisation to his skill set - matchmoving, and has since developed this skill to feature film standard, and added several film credits to his portfolio.
The diversity of Rowan's professional background lends him a breadth in technical ability, and allows him to respond to a range of professional briefs using a number of software packages. This in turn allows him to continue to pursuit varied and interesting projects.
