Mads Mikkelsen...Cillian Murphy...Giancarlo Esposito...by now, we know you've seen the same old names suggested for the McU's Doctor Doom time and time again.
With The Fantastic Four fast approaching and rumours swirling that the Latverian dictator will appear in a post-credits scene, all signs point to us meeting the new Victor Von Doom as soon as next year. However, none of the popular decisions listed above seem like a perfect fit to us.
In this feature, we've rounded up several alternative suggestions who would each be suitably terrifying and formidable as the McU's Doom. Crucially, they're not the names you'd necessarily expect to see.
To find out who we think could square off with Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing as a villain capable of being the next Saga's big bad, click on the "Next"/"View List" buttons below.

Sufjan Stevens’ Seven Swans and his music as a whole is beloved by hipsters who may not have paid attention in Sunday School (if they even attended it). Here’s a look at the Bible story that inspired the track “Abraham” from Seven Swans. It’s a morally complex tale that has been interpreted differently by Jews and Christians.
Sufjan Steven’s ‘Seven Swans’ references an attempted child sacrifice from the Bible
In the Book of Genesis, God blesses the prophet Abraham with a son named Isaac in his old age. Subsequently, God asks Abraham to execute Isaac. Abraham binds his own son in preparation for a human sacrifice, and an angel tells him that the Lord was merely testing his faith by asking him to sacrifice Isaac. The Lord blesses Abraham and he sacrifices a ram, rather than his son, to the divine. Christians often interpret this story as...

Dan Stevens is a busy man. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire landed in theaters at the end of March, where Stevens played charming leading man Trapper, then anarchic horror Abigail arrived hot on its heels in April. Next up, August brings strange horror/sci-fi Cuckoo, which sees Stevens playing a deranged scientist. Between press tours, festivals, and new projects, he’s got a lot going on. And we get the sense he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Describing himself as an “experience hound,” Stevens is a man who thrives on challenges. He began his career in theater, made it big as tragic heartthrob Matthew Crawley in British drama Downton Abbey, and has genre-hopped ever since, from action-thriller The Guest, to playing Sir Lancelot in family fun Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. He sang and danced on stilts for Beauty and the Beast, played Charles Dickens...

DC Studios is developing Booster Gold as a TV series for Max. While rumours of production beginning imminently appear to be incorrect, it seems casting may be heating up as the Dcu readies itself for a superhero unlike any other.
In the comics, Mike Carter was a college football star in the 25th Century who ruined his career by wagering money on his own games. Forced to take a job as a security guard in the Metropolis Space Museum, he stole future tech to travel back in time and become a "superhero" (all while hoping to monetise being a good guy).
He'd later become a genuine time-travelling superhero and is a character who might be a game-changer for the Dcu. While casting such a complex character won't be easy, we have some suggestions which could do Booster justice both on streaming and in theaters.

The Making Of ‘Illinoise’ And The Guiding Vision Of Sufjan Stevens – Tony Watch Q&a With Justin Peck
Illinoise, the dance-musical hybrid nominated for four Tony Awards (including Best Musical) is the seventh collaboration between Justin Peck, the resident choreographer and artistic advisor of the New York City Ballet, and his old friend and creative partner Sufjan Stevens, the indie singer-songwriter turned Oscar nominee (for his song “Mystery of Love” from 2017’s Call Me By Your Name). But it’s safe to say this quirky gem is something unique. Unlike the duo’s previous projects, which include commissions from major dance companies across the country, Illinoise isn’t exactly a ballet. It’s not exactly a musical either.
Putting movement to Stevens’ 2005 album Illinois and its captivating mixture of indie folk, rock and orchestral arrangements – not to mention lyrics that combine the autobiographical, the historical (figures from the state’s past and landscape pop up frequently) and the fanciful are fashioned into an episodic narrative without dialogue.

Hugh Jackman has always had a reputation of being one of the nicest actors in Hollywood. So when he accidentally injured a stuntwoman while filming, he was understandably very upset. But the incident taught the actor a valuable lesson about working in Hollywood.

Jackman was still a bit green as an actor when he was cast in the first X-Men film. The movie wasn’t only one of his first major motion pictures, but it was also Jackman’s first time doing an action flick. Especially one on that scale. He was required to engage in several physical stunts that could put both himself and his stunt partner in jeopardy. At times, these sequences could result in real injuries, such as when he accidentally stabbed a stuntwoman with his Wolverine claws.

Everyone has their own idea of what constitutes religious music. Madonna’s “Holiday” probably wouldn’t make the cut for most people. Despite this, two musicians have claimed that the song was an act of God. You don’t get much more religious than that.
1 of the writers of Madonna’s ‘Holiday’ said every songwriter receives a song from God
“Holiday” was co-written by Curtis Hudson and Lisa Stevens. During a 2012 interview with Blogcritics, Hudson had an interesting explanation of the song’s origins. “There are certain songs that God gives you as a writer,” he said. “‘Holiday’ was a gift. From our hard work out of the hundreds of songs we worked on, he looked down and said, ‘I’m gonna bless you with this song.’ I think that happens to all writers at some point.”
Stevens had a similar view of the track. “We always felt like it...

David Beckham’s viral “be honest” moment with wife, Victoria Beckham, is the kind of impromptu bit of character revelation documentarians dream of catching — especially when working with superstar celebrities who may be inclined toward guarded self-mythologizing. But Beckham director Fisher Stevens was initially furious with the former soccer star when he lightly roasted his wife for engaging in exactly that kind of self-mythologizing when she claimed her family was working class.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Beckham shared the behind-the-scenes anecdote during an Emmys “For Your Consideration” event for the docuseries.

David Beckham joined director Fisher Stevens, producer Josh Battsek and editor Michael Harte at an Emmys For Your Consideration event for their Beckham documentary Sunday night, as the soccer star revealed some behind-the-scenes details of his viral “be honest” moment.
Beckham quickly became a meme — and the subject of a Super Bowl commercial — when, in the documentary, he interjected in the middle of Victoria Beckham’s interview as she talked about having a modest upbringing.
“It was Victoria’s first day filming, and she was sat there in the lounge, looking great. She had the dogs running in and out and Fisher thought that I’d left the house, but I was in the kitchen making a coffee before I went to the office,” Beckham recalled. “I put the set of headphones on, and all of a sudden I heard my wife go, ‘Well, we’re down to earth.’ And I was like,...

It’s hard to think of a dance musician more iconic than Madonna. It’s hard to think of a dance song better than Madonna’s “Holiday.” Notably, “Holiday” was written by members of a band who gave the song away. Here’s what they thought of the Queen of Pop’s take on their tune.
‘Holiday’ garnered praise from Kool & the Gang before Madonna made it a hit
Madonna co-wrote many of her hits, but “Holiday” was not one of them. The groovy post-disco song was penned by Curtis Hudson and Lisa Stevens, both members of the band Pure Energy. The song was produced by dance music legend John “Jellybean” Benitez.
During a 2012 interview with Blogcritics, Stevens explained how “Holiday” fell into the hands of the future Queen of Pop. “I remember Jellybean asking us for a song,” he said. “We had presented songs to him before. He said,...

Disney’s 2017 Beauty and the Beast live-action remake is one of the most critical and commercial hits by the House of the Mouse. The Emma Watson film holds the record of being the second-highest-grossing Disney live-action remake. However, the initial casting of the film was much different with Ryan Gosling in the role of Beast.
A still from Beauty and the Beast
The 2017 Bill Condon directorial had Emma Watson and Dan Stevens leading the film. Stevens played the Beast through motion capture opposite Watson’s Belle. While the current scenario of Disney live-action remakes is not going well, Beauty and the Beast was praised for being faithful to the source material and offering a fresh retelling at the same time.

Madonna’s “Holiday” was a success, but it never managed to become a No. 1 hit in the United States. One of the writers of the track has a theory why the tune didn’t perform better. “Holiday” appeared on two different hit albums that helped define Madonna’s career.
There was never a music video for Madonna’s ‘Holiday’
Madonna co-wrote many of her hits, but “Holiday” was not one of them. The track was co-written by Curtis Hudson and Lisa Stevens. During a 2013 interview with Blogcritics, Hudson discussed why the song was not a huge hit on the chart. “Warner Bros. didn’t produce a music video for it at a time when music videos really started to make songs,” he opined. “Had they done a video, then ‘Holiday’ probably would’ve been a much bigger song than it was at the time; probably No. 1 pop.”
While Hudson didn’t get a No.

Exclusive: After having a busy month at the box-office with Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire and Abigail both opening, Dan Stevens is continuing to stay busy as he is set to join Lily James in the upcoming film inspired by the story of Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, from 20th Century Studios and Ethea Entertainment.
While it’s not entirely clear who Stevens will be playing, we’re told he’s set for the part of Herd’s business partner. The untitled feature goes into production this year.
Famously launching the online dating platform Bumble after co-founding and departing Tinder, Herd became one of the youngest self-made billionaires at age 31 when Bumble went public in 2021. While she stepped down as CEO last year, the app continues to be hugely popular amongst the single crowd.
Plot details for the film remain vague, as it’s said to be somewhat loosely inspired by Herd’s story.

Billy Idol recently released a 40th anniversary expanded reissue of his seminal album Rebel Yell, and to celebrate the occasion, he performed the classic title track live on NBC’s Today.
The performance is notable in that Billy and his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens play the song semi-unplugged. Following an introduction by Al Roker, the duo are left to their lonesome on the sound stage, creating an intimate and up-close setting for the rendition.

Stevens guides the song’s arrangement with electric-acoustic strums that let Idol’s voice soar commandingly through the room. Not only does the stripped-down approach fit perfectly within the Today show’s studio format, it also offers an alternate spin on an otherwise rousing rock anthem.

Some of Madonna‘s songs made waves without becoming No. 1 hits. One of her career-defining tracks didn’t even make the top 10. The song’s writers said the tune had a massive effect on the music industry.
Madonna’s favorite of her hit songs came from her early days
In a 2005 interview with CBS News, Madonna was asked to name her favorites among her top 10 singles. The Queen of Pop admitted she couldn’t name all her top 10 singles. She immediately chose “Holiday” as a personal favorite, only to be told that that song only reached No. 16. The charts just aren’t fair!
Afterward, Madonna picked several favorites that did hit the top 10. Specifically, she picked out “Like a Virgin,” “Material Girl,” and “Like a Prayer.” The Material Girl said she never would have imagined her career becoming as successful as it was. Who knows if she would have become...

The anticipation surrounding Illinoise, the stage musical and dance performance inspired by Sufjan Stevens’ revered album of the same name, has been building for quite some time. Following successful runs at Chicago’s Shakespeare Theater and New York City’s Park Avenue Armory, Illinois has now arrived on Broadway, opening at the St. James Theatre, just in time for eligibility at the 2024 Tony Awards.
Since its debut at Bard College in New York last spring, the production has garnered wide acclaim from critics.
Upon its release in 2005, Stevens’s concept album, comprised of 26 songs dedicated to the state of Illinois, quickly resonated with a generation of listeners. Through the album, Stevens weaved together historical figures, local references, and personal narratives, alternating between marching band arrangements and intimate banjo strums. Despite its specific geographic focus, the album’s themes of loss, rediscovery and the universal human experience connected with audiences worldwide.

It's been six movies since Gareth Edwards' "Godzilla" in 2014, and Adam Wingard seems to have finally cracked the code. Wingard's sublimely silly "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" happily abandoned all the portent and dourness of the first MonsterVerse movie, choosing instead to celebrate shallow monster mayhem and sugared-up, Saturday-morning-ready fantasy conceits that gleefully abandon logic. Kong lives in the Hollow Earth and fights jackal monsters, while Godzilla rules the surface world where he fights crabs and naps in the Colosseum. These are the basic tenets of a skewed universe lousy with monsters. There are magical stones under the earth that control gravity and miniature wormholes that monsters use to teleport around the planet. Everything is wild and nothing makes sense. Anyone who has seen "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" — and going by the film's impressive box-office numbers, that oughta be most of you out there — knows that Dan Stevens is an absolute delight in it. To be fair, this isn't a huge surprise, as anyone who's been following Stevens' on-screen career knows that the actor is routinely a highlight of everything he appears in, whether he's the lead in something like FX's "Legion" and "GxK" director Adam Wingard's "The Guest" or (and sometimes especially) when he's appearing as a supporting character in films like "Colossal" or this month's "Abigail."
His role of Trapper in "GxK" seems particularly special, however, given that Stevens isn't merely playing a comic relief character. Instead, he's some unique combination of a wonder-filled adventurer, an animal-loving veterinarian, and a laid-back hippie dude. That's just one way of describing Trapper, however — Stevens himself has...

The setting for Illinoise, Justin Peck and Jackie Sibblies Drury’s emotionally supercharged reinterpretation of the 2005 Sufjan Stevens concept album, is various locations across the Land of Lincoln — a cornfield, a hiking trail, a woodland clearing, the suburban home of a serial killer, a small town in the middle of nowhere, the top of a skyscraper and, of course, Chicago, with an out-of-state detour to New York City. But the real setting of this thrilling dance-musical-concert hybrid, alternately rhapsodic and shattering, is our collective youth.
Without a word of spoken dialogue, the show pulls us into late adolescence, a time when love, anguish and everything in between are felt perhaps with the greatest intensity. The book co-written by director-choreographer Peck and Drury (who won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama with her brilliant meta-theatrical race inquiry, Fairview) is skillfully shaped yet invisible in the best sense of undiluted physical, sensorial and elemental storytelling.

Dan Stevens is having the time of his life as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has become a big hit for Warner Bros and Legendary. His latest release Abigail has also received great reviews from critics and audiences, with many praising his performance. Al Pacino and Dan Stevens are set to team up as priests in the forthcoming exorcism horror ‘The Ritual’.
Ashley Greene and Abigail Cowen will also join Pacino and Stevens on the cast list.
Based on a true story, the movie will follow two priests — one questioning his faith (Stevens) and one reckoning with a troubled past (Pacino) — who must put aside their differences to save a possessed young woman through a difficult and dangerous series of exorcisms.

The film provides an accurate portrayal of Emma Schmidt, an American woman who was believed to be possessed by demonic spirits, which led to several harrowing exorcisms. This case is considered to be the most extensively documented exorcism in American history.
David Midell will direct from a script he co-wrote alongside Enrico Natale. Andrew Stevens, Mitchell Welch and Natale will produce.

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire brought American audiences into the fun schlock that defined a run of the Godzilla movies which is called the “Showa era.” This era is basically what people think of when you bring up Godzilla because it’s all about the giant monster battles. The movies are also usually given an out-there, psychedelic plot that drives the monsters into fighting each other. Godzilla X Kong was a smashing success at the box office and has the studio confident in its upcoming plans for sequels. Legendary’s chairman, Mary Parent, would state, “This (box office) is certainly an exciting result. We are in a good position to continue the journey, but let’s see how Godzilla x Kong unfolds. These are early days, but we are certainly feeling good.“
The director of Godzilla X Kong, Adam Wingard, brought in his trusted writer, Simon Barrett for this installment.

It’s been less than 12 years since Dan Stevens raised a middle finger to the British aristocracy, quitting “Downton Abbey” as the show neared its Emmy-amassing zenith and setting sail for America with his family. As he admits, he had “absolutely no idea” what was going to happen to him.
“There was no roadmap,” the 41-year-old actor explains with frank honestly about a decision that, at the time, was considered by many to be sheer lunacy. “I left ‘Downton’ with a blank slate. It was just, ‘I think I want to do other things.’ But I didn’t know what that looked like.”
To have an idea of what that currently looks like, anyone need just head to their nearest cinema, where Stevens is going head-to-head against himself in two of the biggest studio releases of the season. In what has become something of a calling card for the Brit...

This article contains massive spoilers for "Abigail."
"Abigail" features a group of six mercenaries holding the eponymous girl (Alisha Weir) hostage in a manor. Who's really in the mousetrap here, though?
The trailer gave it all away, but Abigail is a vampire and has brought this group of six together for a feast — one they won't be leaving. It's like the inversion of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett's previous mansion survival thriller, "Ready or Not." In that one, Grace (Samara Weaving), recently married into the wealthy Le Domas family, has to dodge her new in-laws as they play the most dangerous game. In "Abigail," a single, seemingly fragile girl hunts a group of people.
Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett previously directed "Scream" V and VI (Barrera starred in those movies before she was fired from "Scream" VII for pro-Palestine posts); "Abigail" inherits the meta-horror touch of "Scream." When the characters find out what Abigail is,...

[Editor’s note: The following interview contains major spoilers for the ending of “Abigail.”]
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett’s latest horror outing, “Abigail,” comes with plenty of surprises — pint-sized ballerina vampires, double crosses galore, and a lot of exploding bodies — but the biggest of all might be its somewhat happy ending.
A modern spin on the classic “Dracula’s Daughter,” the film follows a group of rag-tag criminals who are tasked with kidnapping (and holding overnight) the young daughter of a local criminal mastermind. Too bad for them that their charge, played by Alisha Weir, isn’t a normal little girl: she’s also a vicious vampire who is (understandably) quite pissed off about her abduction.
By the time the film wraps up, Abigail has chomped her way through most of the crew, offing each of them in surprising (and splashy!) ways. Except for Barrera’s Joey, who has served as something of a protector to the youngster throughout the film. After the dust (blood?...

An old saying goes that “You can’t keep a good man down”. Well, despite the meager box office returns for last year’s big Dracula flicks, Renfield, and The Last Voyage Of The Demeter, this weekend’s new monster movie believes that “You can’t keep a good vampire down”. Really, they just keep popping up, just check out those Christopher Lee Hammer Film classics. Ha, “down for the Count”…and enough of the “groaners”. Although this new flick’s working title was “Dracula’s Daughter”, this chiller isn’t officially connected to the Bram Stoker creation. For one thing, it’s set in today’s world, so a speedy beaten van replaces the horse-drawn carriages. Oh, and it’s got elements of a crime thriller. This tale concerns a “snatch and grab” crew who get more than they bargained for when their target is Abigail.

Universal has struggled to in recent years to bring back its classic horror franchises like Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman, The Mummy, etc., attempts that were perhaps too literal. But thanks to the filmmaking collective known as Radio Silence they have, with Abigail, perhaps stumbled onto a way to keep the party going. In this case it is back to the immortal vampire story to end them all, Dracula, but here the bloodsucking title star is his 12-year-old daughter, not the infamous man himself who is reduced to a mere cameo.
Last year the studio tried a variation on the tale with Renfield, which starred Nicholas Hoult as the sidekick to Nicolas Cage’s campy take on the legend but lost its way. For a significant portion of its running time, the new film from the directing team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (better known as Radio Silence) plays like a hard-boiled crime drama. In its opening scenes, we see a rag-tag team of criminals prepare for and then commit the kidnapping of a 12-year-old girl. First seen dancing ballet by herself in an empty theater, she obviously comes from wealth, getting into a chauffeured limousine after her exertions. The kidnappers, who’ve dubbed her “Tiny Dancer,” manage to snatch her away and bring her to a secluded mansion, where they’re greeted by their mysterious organizer (Giancarlo Esposito), who gives them fake names inspired by the members of the Rat Pack (Frank, Joey, Dean, etc.). So far, so Quentin Tarantino.

Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett had one of the surprise hits of 2019 with their horror-comedy-action-thriller romp Ready or Not. It was a hit with critics and audiences alike, leading it to become yet another horror money-maker at the box office. In Adam Wingard's new monster mash "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," Dan Stevens' character -- the rock 'n' roll monster veterinarian named Trapper -- is introduced leaping on board a high-tech helicopter equipped with strange grappling hooks and pulleys. Trapper has been called in to sedate and perform dental surgery on Kong, who is suffering from a titanic toothache. Trapper hoots and grins as he is lowered into the unconscious Kong's mouth, eager to see what the problem is. He yanks out Kong's tooth and replaces it with an artificial implant, smiling all the while.
Trapper is like an ultra-cool version of Ace Ventura, complete with skillfully windswept hair and Hawaiian shirts. The character looks like he's just as ready to attend a days-long music festival as he is to tend to the wounds of ailing megafauna. With Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman not being the only returning actors, there is an uproar among fans to incorporate the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the smoothest way possible.

There are many reunions taking place in the film, including the one staring at us right in the face. None of them, however, compared to the possibility of a reunion of the Xavier family. Seeing that there is a strong possibility to see Charles Xavier in the upcoming movie, there are more in his family barring Cassandra Nova who could join the fun as well.

Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o said that when word came her way that she’d been selected to receive CinemaCon’s star of the year award during the closing night Big Screen Achievement Awards, it led her to ponder what cinema has meant to her.
“One of my strongest memories from my adolescence came to mind,” said the 41-year-old actress while accepting the trophy inside the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Thursday night. “My very first date was going to see a movie at the cinema in Nairobi, Kenya, where I grew up. I was 16. Not only was I going out with this boy I liked for the first time, but I would be watching my crush Leonardo DiCaprio in none other than Titanic.
Nyong’o, honored for her upcoming turn in Paramount Pictures’ thriller A Quiet Place: Day One, said she was beyond excited to see DiCaprio in the 1997 disaster epic from James Cameron.

Abigail, the latest from directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, feels like a spiritual sibling to their 2019 hit Ready or Not. Both are set almost entirely within a sprawling, warm-toned mansion and both deliver copious blood splatter to a delightfully satisfying degree. But Abigail is an inverse of Ready or Not; instead of one heroine targeted and preyed upon by a group of morally dubious enemies, it’s one vicious threat picking off morally dubious kidnappers one by one, slasher style.
While that may make for a more conventional watch with fewer surprises, Radio Silence’s ballerina vampire movie is a bloody blast all the same.
The heist-turned-vampire feature begins with the coordinated kidnapping of 12-year-old ballerina Abigail (Alisha Weir), the daughter of a powerful crime lord guaranteed to fetch a hefty ransom prize. Splitting the obscene loot are the six tasked with snatching Abigail from her home and safeguarding...
