There’s a significant shakeup for fans of the Law & Order franchise. Law & Order: Organized Crime has officially been renewed for its fifth season, but this time it will air on Peacock, NBC’s streaming platform. This move ends its tenure on Thursday nights alongside Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu, raising questions about potential crossovers and what this means for our beloved characters. Organized Crime’s creator Dick Wolf, along with Matt Olmstead and Ilene Chaiken, meticulously crafted a gripping series that pits the Organized Crime Control Bureau against New York City’s most cunning criminal syndicates. The show

It’s official: There will no longer be an all Law & Order Thursday night on NBC. For its fifth season, Law & Order: Organized Crime is moving to the streaming service, Peacock. That breaks it up from airing Thursday nights after Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU, which also means that chances are there won’t be many (if any) crossovers. And of course, that leads to the inevitable question of what that means for the will they/won’t they slow burn of Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Svu‘s Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). Organized Crime was created by Dick Wolf, Matt Olmstead, and Ilene Chaiken. It follows the detectives of the Organized Crime Control Bureau as they take on New York City’s most vicious and violent criminal syndicates. It brought Meloni back to the world of Law & Order in 2021, via a two-part crossover with...

“Law & Order: Organized Crime” has been renewed for Season 5, with the show now officially set to move from NBC to Peacock.
The news comes after weeks of speculation that the show would make the jump to the streaming service from the broadcast network. The Season 4 finale will air on NBC on May 16 and stream the next day on Peacock.
Moving “Law & Order: Oc” to Peacock is not altogether surprising. The show has lagged behind fellow Dick Wolf series “Law & Order,” “Law & Order: Svu,” and the three “Chicago” shows at NBC while still maintaining solid viewership. It also reportedly does very well on Peacock, particularly given its more serialized storylines, a departure from Wolf’s typical procedural format.
It was also the last Dick Wolf broadcast show awaiting word on its fate for next season. The other two “Law & Order” shows and all three “Chicago” shows were renewed back in March.

It’s a done deal — NBC’s Law & Order: Organized Crime starring Christopher Meloni has been renewed for a fifth season, which will be streaming exclusively on Peacock. As Deadline previously reported, Season 5 is expected to consist of 10 episodes, less than what the Wolf Entertainment series produced for NBC under normal circumstances but on the high end of an original streaming series whose seasons typically consist of 8 episodes. John Shiban is returning as showrunner.
The move gives the NBCUniversal streamer an original Dick Wolf drama series to go with the Wolf library and next-day runs of the company’s remaining NBC series Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu, which are among the platform’s most viewed titles.

NBC’s Chicago Med will have new leadership heading into its 10th season.
Co-showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider, who have been with the drama since it debuted in 2015, are stepping down at the end of the show’s current run. The married couple have helmed Med for nine seasons and more than 170 episodes to date. A new showrunner will be named later.
That’s an unusually long tenure for any series, let alone one hailing from Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment, which frequently shakes up operations both in front of and behind the camera. Frolov and Schneider came in ahead of Chicago Med’s series premiere, taking over for Andrew Dettman. In contrast, Med’s fellow Chicago series, Fire and Pd, have changed showrunners multiple times over the course of their runs.

Dick Wolf is in for another busy season at NBC. No surprise here, the Peacock network has renewed “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.,” “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Svu” for the 2024-25 broadcast TV season. Among Dick Wolf scripted series, that leaves just “Law & Order: Organized Crime” on the bubble; a renewal for that show, which has experienced multiple showrunner changes in its short life, is still in discussion.
Among the shows, this will rep the 26th season of “Law & Order: SVU,” the 24th season of “Law & Order,” Season 13 for “Chicago Fire,” the 12th season for “Chicago PD” and the 10th season for “Chicago Med.” All of the renewed series are produced by Universal Studio Group’s Universal Television division, along with Wolf Entertainment, and all shows stream the following day on Peacock. NBC has renewed most — but not all — of the shows in its two biggest franchises for the 2024-25 season.
The network has ordered new seasons of all three of its Chicago dramas — Med, Fire and Pd — along with Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu. Notably missing from the list is Law & Order: Organized Crime, whose status is “still under discussion,” according to NBC. All six series come from Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television.
Svu will add to its record as the longest-running primetime drama in American TV history with a 26th season in 2024-25, while Law & Order — which recently saw the departure of series fixture Sam Waterston — will air its 24th. Chicago Med will hit double digits with its 10th season, Fire will air its 13th and Pd its 12th.

Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu will be back for the 2024-25 season after NBC renewed the pair of shows but spinoff Law & Order: Organized Crime is in a slightly more precarious position.
The network has renewed Law & Order for Season 24, while Law & Order: Svu will be back for Season 26.
The future of Law & Order: Organized Crime, which is in its fourth season, is still in discussion at the network. It has been the lowest rated of Dick Wolf’s NBC shows and has had a number of showrunners over its course. Matt Olmstead started out as showrunner, replaced by Ilene Chaiken, who was replaced by Barry O’Brien. Not allowed to carry guns, the Fly Team relies on intelligence, quick thinking and pure brawn as they put their lives on the line to protect the U.S. and its people.
Reed’s Kellett is second-in-command to the Head of the International FBI Fly Team unit, played by Luke Kleintank.
Cast also includes Carter Redwood, Vinessa Vidotto, Eva-Jane Willias and Christina Wolfe.
Neither CBS nor Wolf Entertainment would comment, but we hear her departure is a creative decision.

James executive produces alongside Dawn Olmstead, “Prison Break” creator Paul Scheuring, Marty Adelstein and Neal Moritz. In addition to the “Sons of Anarchy” spinoff “Mayans,” James also co-created with Stephen Merchant the Amazon Studios/BBC One series “The Outlaws,” starring Christopher Walken.

Law & Order: Organized Crime‘s search for a new Season 4 showrunner is finally over as Ozark executive producer John Shiban is set to take the reins of the NBC crime drama. The move comes after constant reshuffles at the top of the Christopher Meloni-led series. Since premiering in April 2021, the show has already gone through five showrunners. Chicago Fire EP Matt Olmstead was originally the writer/showrunner for the spinoff but stepped down in October 2020 before the show had even made it to air. The L Word co-creator Ilene Chaiken replaced him, but she only made it halfway through Season 2 before being replaced by Hannah Montana co-creator Barry O’Brien, who stood in as interim showrunner. Law & Order: Svu exec producer Bryan Goluboff succeeded O’Brien but only lasted three months before Project Blue Book EP Sean Jablonski took over for the third season. Jablonski departed after...

There’s been another showrunner shakeup in the “Law & Order” universe. John Shiban has been named new showrunner of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” ahead of the show’s Season 4 premiere marking the seventh showrunner to steer the series. The series is set to air in midseason.
As Variety previously reported, Season 3 of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” was first run by Sean Jablonski then later “Svu” showrunner David Graziano. Barry O’Brien, Bryan Goluboff, Ilene Chaiken and Matt Olmstead previously held the title.
Shiban previously spent the last three seasons as an executive producer on “Ozark,” where he earned an Emmy and a WGA Award for writing the episode “Boss Fight.” He recently was under an overall deal at Sony Television while serving as showrunner and executive producer of the Hulu series “Shut Eye.”

On Wednesday, October 4, Wolf Entertainment announced that writers have returned to work on the above-mentioned shows. According to The Wrap, there have also been some showrunner changes across the Wolf shows. Andrea Newman will now helm Chicago Fire alone, having previously run the show alongside Derek Haas. Writers have returned to work on the Dick Wolf-produced TV franchises “Law & Order,” “FBI” and “Chicago Fire,” Wolf Entertainment announced on Wednesday.
The WGA strike, which had lasted 148 days, ended on Sept. 24 after the guild came to a deal with the AMPTP regarding streaming residuals, AI protections and other key issues.
Meanwhile, showrunners have been shuffled across the Dick Wolf universe: “Chicago Fire” goes into Season 12 on NBC with lone showrunner Andrea Newman, who formerly ran the show along with Derek Haas. CBS’ “FBI International” has promoted Matt Olmstead from executive producer to showrunner for Season 3.
The Christopher Meloni-led “Law & Order: Organized Crime” has not yet named a new showrunner after the exit of Sean Jablonski in March. David Graziano, who returns as “Svu” showrunner for Season 25 of the Mariska Hargitay-starring series, had stepped in to oversee the final three episodes of the “Oc” Season 3.

T.V. Carpio, the actress who has appeared in shows such as Big Sky and The Client List, has joined the NBC medical drama Chicago Med in a recurring role. As reported by Deadline, Carpio will portray Dr. Grace Song, a new doctor hired by Jack Dayton (Sasha Roiz), and is set to shake things up when the show returns in 2023. The casting comes following several cast departures, including Brian Tee, Asjha Cooper, Sarah Rafferty, Kristen Hager, and Guy Lockard. Carpio’s Dr. Song is likely to be one of many changes for the popular medical series. This season’s fall finale saw Roiz’s Jack purchase a controlling interest in Gaffney Medical Group, which suggests he will be setting up his own team as he rebuilds the hospital in his image. Exclusive: T.V. Carpio (Big Sky) has joined the cast of NBC’s Chicago Med in a recurring role, Deadline hears. She will portray Dr. Grace Song, a new doctor hired by Jack Dayton (Sasha Roiz) who will shake things up when the show returns in the spring.
Grace’s hiring comes as no surprise following the news that Jack bought controlling interest in Gaffney Medical Group in the fall finale—building up his own team is par for the course. If Sharon Goodwin’s (S. We knew it was coming, but it didn't make it any less difficult.
Chicago P.D. Season 10 Episode 3 said goodbye to Jesse Lee Soffer's Halstead.
In the episode, Halstead stabbed a suspect to death after getting involved in a scuffle.
Upton and Voight prepared a cover story, but he turned himself in and handed over his badge to join the army leading a team that tracked the worst drug cartel targets.
Halstead told Upton they would be fine because the job was only set to last eight months.
“You’re the love of my life,” he added, “and if I’m yours, then you’ll know that you have to let me go.”
As the episode aired, Soffer took to Twitter to thank fans and say goodbye.
"For anyone that's ever been a Halstead fan, I just want you to know that I'm grateful," he tweeted.
"Thank you for going on this journey with me.

Law & Order: Organized Crime is undergoing yet another shakeup.
In a surprising move, Bryan Goluboff is stepping down as showrunner before the Season 3 premiere of the spin-off.
He will be replaced by Sean Jablonski, who has experience producing the mothership Law & Order series.
There is no word on why the sudden change is happening, which makes Jablonski the show’s fourth showrunner in seven months.
This comes after Goluboff had talked in interviews about his plan for Season 3, which would have included shorter story arcs and more focus on the personal lives of Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and his squad.
The sudden change should not affect episodes that have already been filmed but will mean some adjustments as Season 3 prepares to premiere on September 22.

There’s another change coming in the Dick Wolf universe. Sean Jablonski is stepping in as the new showrunner on “Law & Order: Organized Crime” for the upcoming third season, Variety has learned.
Jablonski becomes the fifth showrunner on the series, replacing Bryan Goluboff, who was announced as the Season 3 showrunner in May. Barry O’Brien had been named interim showrunner in February following the exit of Ilene Chaiken. Prior to Chaiken, Matt Olmstead was showrunner.
“Law & Order: Organized Crime,” produced by Universal Television in association with Wolf Entertainment, revolves around the character of Elliot Stabler, played by Christopher Meloni, who starred on “Svu” for 12 seasons, and then returned to the “Law & Order” universe in 2021. Because of Stabler’s longstanding relationship with “Svu’s” Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) — something fans have obsessed over for years now — those two shows have frequently intersected since “Organized Crime” premiered.
