The HBO series Game of Thrones is deemed as another entry in the long list of TV series that captivated audiences for years. However, while fans have appreciated the show for its grandeur and mesmerizing storyline, the series finale turned out to be quite disappointing for most. And seemingly George R.R. Martin began dreading this very problem after season 5.

Leaving a trail of disappointment in their wake, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss curtailed a certain major arc which made the ending seem abrupt. This particular approach that the show followed after season 5, began worrying George R.R. Martin. The author’s representative, Paul Haas, thus opened up about Martin’s thoughts on his behalf.

Produced by Sweeney herself, Immaculate is a psychological horror film and it follows the story of a young nun who joins a convent in the Italian countryside. Her quiet life quickly turns into a nightmare because of the horrific secrets hidden in the convent. Directed by Michael Mohan, Immaculate also stars Simona Tabasco, Benedetta Porcaroli, and Álvaro Morte. So, if you loved Sweeney’s horror film here are some similar movies you should check out next.
The Convent
Co-written and directed by Paul Hyett, the 2018 film British horror film titled The Convent gives a similar atmosphere to Sweeney’s Immaculate. The Convent tells us the story of a group of young women seeking refuge from the turmoil of World War II in an isolated convent in the countryside.

Game of Thrones has lots of cool characters who are all linked together in some pretty interesting ways. Whether as family, friends, or enemies, their tangled relationships made the show really exciting to watch.
In this relationship loop, the family connection of Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow shook up the story big time. The two major characters first crossed paths in Season 7.
Daenerys arrived in Westeros and met Jon for the first time. Soon after, they became romantically involved, adding a new dimension to the story.
Game of Thrones S08: Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen and Kit Harington as Jon Snow
When Jon and Daenerys finally meet, fans learned a big secret: Jon isn’t Ned Stark’s son but the child of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, which makes Daenerys Jon’s aunt. However, George R.R. Martin, initially planned for Jon to have a love interest even more disturbing than Daenerys.

After HBO’s Game of Thrones came to a divisive end, audiences began expressing their disappointment over the decisions that were made in the show. Infuriated fans even wanted HBO to redo the entire final season. That’s when netizens began wondering if things would have ended differently, had they turned the show into a film series.
Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, Isaac Hempstead-Wright and Maisie Williams in Game of Thrones
It’s only obvious for people to consider the path not taken, especially when the outcome proves disappointing. That is exactly why fans began debating for the years to come if Game of Thrones would have been better off as a film franchise. Recently showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss confirmed that they originally wanted the finale to be a film series. Back in 2020, even George R.R. Martin revealed that it was indeed the plan.

Maisie Williams gained international recognition and two Emmy nominations for her performance as Arya Stark in the epic series, Game of Thrones. Williams joined the project when she was just 12 and spent most of her formative years in the character. While fans expect the heroic Arya Stark to return for the highly anticipated Jon Snow spin-off series, it appears that Williams wants to move on to more diverse roles.

The following article contains spoilers for "Game of Thrones."
"Game of Thrones" is one of those shows that is always on the list when you talk about "peak TV." It was the talk of every watercooler group and dominated social media discussions. Most of the actors are household names now, from Emilia Clarke, who just finished a run on "Secret Invasion," to Gwendoline Christie, who has been in the latest "Star Wars" trilogy and the recent hit "Wednesday." Kit Harington, of course, is also one of those household names. He played Jon Snow, Night's Watch member and the apparent bastard son of Sean Bean's Ned Stark (though that wasn't his true heritage). He could have been king, but turned down the crown. He fell in love with the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys (Clarke), found out she was his aunt, and ended up killing her because of her tyranny. His...

If we put Jaime Lannister's (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) ending out of our heads for a bit, he would have one of the best character arcs in television history. In "Game of Thrones" season 1, he pushed a little kid out of a high window for catching Jaime having sex with his twin sister Cersei (Lena Headey). He was cruel and full of himself, with his only redeeming quality being his love for his brother Tyrion (Peter Dinklage). By season 7, he'd met Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) and fallen for her ... or at the very least, developed deep feelings for her. He'd also formed strong friendships, was humbled after losing his hand, and turned into a character to root for.
Coster-Waldau enjoyed his time playing Jaime, and in a 2019 video posted to the series' official YouTube channel, he spoke about his favorite scene to shoot, which was...

With "House of the Dragon" recently airing its first season on HBO, it feels like "Game of Thrones" never left our televisions. It's hard to believe that it's been 12 years since those who'd already read the George R.R. Martin's books the series was based on had to keep their expressions neutral as their friends watched it all unfold. We saw events like the Red Wedding, the death of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), and the big moment from the very first season when Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) pushed 10-year-old Brandon Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) out of a tower window, paralyzing him. Why would Jamie be so needlessly cruel? Little Bran, who liked to climb walls, just happened to peer into a tower as Jamie and his twin sister Cersei (Lena Headey) were getting it on. Cersei kept insisting that Bran saw what they were doing, and Jamie figured the death of...

Pilots are the first and most essential steps in creating a show. They must entice potential viewers while introducing characters, setting up plotlines, and conveying the overall feel of what is to come with future episodes. It can be challenging for even experienced producers—many television series never make it past their pilots due to subpar writing or simply not connecting with viewer interests.

With there being more time jumps than illegitimate bastards, the young actors playing the children of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) are due another recast in episode 8. This post contains spoilers for episode six of "House of the Dragon."
The latest episode of "House of the Dragon" takes place after a 10-year time jump, meaning that several characters have aged up and are currently embroiled in tense familial dynamics and Westerosi politicking. The episode opens with Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) experiencing an intensely painful childbirth and giving birth to a third child, whom Alicent (Olivia Cooke) wants to see immediately after he's born. Things are already off to a rocky start, and the gestating resentment between the queen and the princess is on full display here. From here on, events take a progressively sinister turn; there are some major character deaths, courtesy of tragic circumstances and covert political scheming.

Paddy Considine stars as King Viserys I Targaryen in Episode 1 of House of the Dragon Season 1. Pic credit: HBO/Ollie Upton
Episode 1 of House of the Dragon introduced House Targaryen as they rule supreme over Westeros.
King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine) is a kind ruler, something not expected for fans of Game of Thrones where the Targaryens are considered much more ruthless and laced with madness than is shown in Viserys.
It is expected by most that the king’s brother, Daemon (Matt Smith), will rule in his place as a male heir has not been produced between Viserys and his wife, Aemma (Sian Brooke).
However, after some conflict and the fact that Daemon might actually be one of the unhinged Targaryens, Viserys places his daughter Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) next in line for the Iron Throne.
It is here that the king reveals a Targaryen secret to his daughter.

In the Game of Thrones finale, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) announces to the world that the new king of Westeros won’t be the last of the official Targaryens in Jon Snow (Kit Harrington). The new king won’t be the son of the former king, Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy). The Iron Throne (or whatever replaces the melted monstrosity) won’t hold any of the other brave warriors who battled the Night King and the armies of the dead to save the world from the long winter. Instead, the throne goes to the character with the best story, a pubescent child confined to a wheelchair that disappeared for an entire season, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright).

In the current age of multi-pronged media management strategies, stories don’t so much end as expand. So the revelation that HBO was developing multiple Game of Thrones spinoffs, even before that iconic series ended, was hardly a surprise. At one point, HBO had as many as eight potential series set in George R.R. Martin’s World of Ice and Fire in development. And while not all of them would be greenlit, they were each assumed to have one thing in common: these were prequels. Stories set before the events of Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire,” the book series that Game of Thrones is based on.

Warning: contains spoilers for all eight seasons of Game of Thrones
“When you play the Game of Thrones, you win or you die,” as Cersei Lannister famously told the naïve Eddard Stark. But there’s more to wrapping up a fictional character’s arc successfully that just whether they win or lose the Game – sometimes, it’s the Winner of the Game who has the least satisfying arc of all.
There were 161 regular and recurring characters across the eight seasons of Game of Thrones, most of whom were killed off at some point during the first seven seasons.
We ranked every named character death in the series, including Season 8, back in 2019 in order of how upsetting they were, with the top spots going to characters killed early on whose deaths were tragic and tear-inducing in the best, most dramatic way.

Lionsgate’s Voyagers isn’t your ordinary “the human race is in danger” sci fi romp.
Written and directed by Neil Burger Voyagers follows a group of young men and women bred specifically to have a great level of intelligence and obedience as they embark on an expedition to colonize a distant planet.
Sounds like good, safe fun, right? Well, if it was it wouldn’t be a movie worth watching.
It doesn’t take long for the young group of what could be manufactured automatons to start to uncover disturbing secrets about the mission. As things begin to unravel, they defy their training and begin to explore their most primitive natures. As a result, the entire ship becomes chaos in space as they’re consumed by fear, lust, and the insatiable hunger for power.

It doesn’t appear that Isaac Hempstead Wright has done that much in the days following his Game of Thrones appearance, but it could be that school has taken more of a priority since at one point it was made clear that he was studying neuroscience, but he was still willing to at least try to act and keep up with school at the same time. One thing you can say about this guy is that he’s dedicated and has been taking his career and his schooling seriously. What is funny is that initially he had no aspirations to be an

Writer-director Neil Burger has dipped into science fiction both for adults and the YA audience a couple of times throughout his career. First with his 2011 film Limitless, in which Bradley Cooper becomes a mental powerhouse thanks to a mysterious drug; in 2014, he helmed Divergent, one of the last gasps of the dystopian young adult subgenre; and with the new film Voyagers —which features the filmmaker’s first original screenplay since 2008’s The Lucky Ones—Burger plunges full-on into sci-fi with a space-based thriller that takes some familiar material, and… doesn’t do much with it.
There are two familiar—perhaps overly familiar—plot threads happening in Voyagers. On one hand, the story is set on a generation ship, a well-worn genre device in which a group of people board a spacecraft for a vast interstellar journey, knowing that they won’t reach their destination but that their descendants will. HBO released a new trailer for the eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones” late Tuesday, in honor of the 10th anniversary — aka the “Iron Anniversary” — of the show’s series premiere.
Yes, a re-cut trailer for the divisive Season 8 may seem like pouring salt in the wounds of fans who didn’t care for those six episodes and how the story ended. Then again, maybe the edit will help block out any bad memories you have about the series finale.
Either way, you can watch the new “Game of Thrones” Season 8 trailer via the video above. But don’t say we didn’t warn you that it could feel like a twist of the Dragonglass knife.

The Conan O’Brien-hosted “Game of Thrones” cast reunion special is now streaming on HBO Max in honor of the show’s Iron Anniversary.
Previously, this reunion, which was taped with O’Brien and cast members in Northern Ireland in 2018, was only available as a bonus feature included in the “Complete Series” or “Complete Collection” Blu-ray sets for “Game of Thrones.” But seeing as this April marks the 10th anniversary of “GoT’s” series premiere, HBO is now giving fans the ability to stream the special on the WarnerMedia-owned streaming platform.
The special features appearances by cast members Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Sean Bean, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage, Mark Addy and Jason Momoa.
You can watch Part 1 of the special on HBO Max here and Part 2 right here.

"You're not feeling what I'm feeling." Lionsgate has debuted a full-length official trailer for Voyagers, the latest from director Neil Burger. This is such a kinky and wild premise - a bunch of perfect teens born on a spaceship go crazy with sensation once they realize they're being drugged to not have any feelings. "Get ready to have your ship rocked." From this trailer, this could turn out either awesome or terrible; and I'm hoping there's more to this than just kids going wild. Go for launch. "What does it feel like to feel something?" Lionsgate has finally revealed the first teaser trailer for a new sci-fi space adventure movie called Voyagers, the latest from director Neil Burger. This was originally set for last year, but has been delayed and is now set to open in April this spring. In the first teaser for “Voyagers,” Tye Sheridan discovers that experimenting with sex, drugs, club bangers and man’s most primitive urges is even more exciting than exploring the reaches of outer space.
“Voyagers” is the next film from “Limitless” director Neil Burger. It’s a sci-fi in setting, but it’s actually about how a bunch of hot young people who are discovering human pleasures for the first time let fear, lust and the insatiable hunger for power all go to their heads.
“What does it feel like to feel something,” Sheridan says in the trailer. “Maybe this is our true nature.”
“Voyagers” stars Sheridan, Lily-Rose Depp and Fionn Whitehead with Colin Farrell in a supporting role. And the main cast all plays a group of young men and women who have been bred for intelligence and obedience, all of whom are kept in line by drinking a substance they call “Blue.

Hodor’s death is one of the most memorable moments from the eight-season run of “Game of Thrones.” But the way David Benioff and Dan Weiss’ HBO epic portrayed the death of Kristian Nairn’s mentally disabled giant, who was fiercely loyal to Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and the rest of the Stark family, is different from how George R.R. Martin says the infamous “hold the door” scene will go down in one of his “A Song of Ice and Fire” series’ two remaining books, “The Winds of Winter” or “A Dream of Spring.”
“I thought they executed it very well, but there are going to be differences in the book,” Martin said in James Hibberd’s new book, “Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon,” according to EW. “They did it very physical — ‘hold the door’ with Hodor’s strength. In the book, Hodor has stolen one of the old swords from the crypt.

As disappointed as many fans were with the final episodes of Game of Thrones, there’s a particular kind of fevered anticipation when it comes to seeing what the cast and crew of such a long-running series choose to do next. This is perhaps heightened even further for those cast members who grew up on the series in question and haven’t really had the chance to stretch their acting legs yet, like Sophie Turner, Isaac Hempstead Wright or – starring in Sky’s new black comedy Two Weeks to Live – Maisie Williams.

Shortly after HBO released Game of Thrones: The Complete Eighth Season, the Golden Globe nominations were unveiled and its considered a surprise that the series was virtually shut out. After the long wait, the truncated final season arrived this year and rather than take a victory lap, it was showered with complaints.
When the series, adapting George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire novels, arrived, people were stunned at its scope, sweep, violence, sensuality, and strong performances. You weren’t sure who to root for as the status quo kept shifting and beloved characters kept dying in unexpected, messy ways.
Phrases and names seeped into public consciousness just as the series began exhausting the extant prose and then charged ahead while Martin struggled to finish the current novel, in the cycle. Series Executive Producers/Writers/Directors David Benioff & D.B. Weiss got direction from Martin and then increasingly veered off in their own direction.

Gold Derby was on the red carpet and backstage in the press room for Sunday’s Emmy Awards 2019 ceremony to chat with many of this year’s nominees. Among the 12 Emmy contenders we interviewed on the red carpet (actually purple carpet) in downtown Los Angeles were Patricia Arquette (“The Act” and “Escape at Dannemora”), Alfie Allen (“Game of Thrones”) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”).
For this 71st annual event, presenters are revealing the winners in seven drama categories, seven comedy categories, eight movie/limited categories, four variety categories and one reality category. The live Primetime ceremony is airing on Fox with no host this year.

A Lannister always pays his debts, but will Emmy voters pay it back? Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau just scored his second consecutive Best Drama Supporting Actor nomination for playing Jaime Lannister in the eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones.” This year he’s hoping to finally rake in his first statuette with the season’s second installment, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” which he has submitted for consideration to Emmy judges.
In this calm-before-the-storm episode, Jaime is tried for his past actions by Winterfell’s council, in front of whom he expresses his determination to fight for the living in the upcoming battle against the army of the dead. While at first strongly disapproving, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and Sansa (Sophie Turner) ultimately agree to let Jaime join their forces after Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) vouches for him and Jon (Kit Harington) reiterates the importance of every new soldier they can get.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “Harlots” Season 3, Episode 5 and the final season of “Game of Thrones.”]
Alfie Allen is ready to talk about dying on TV, but it’s not necessarily for the show he’s best known for. “It seems that a tragic death is something that is the hot topic with me nowadays,” the actor said in an interview with IndieWire.
After going out in a blaze of Night King-defying glory on the final season of “Game of Thrones,” Allen joined the cast of Hulu’s Georgian-era brothel drama “Harlots” – but not for long. Five episodes after his pimp character Isaac Pincher is introduced, he perishes after meeting the wrong end of a prostitute’s pistol.
His ending is another shock just two episodes after the loss of main character Charlotte Wells (Jessica Brown Findlay), who was Isaac’s secret lover and accidentally fell to her death trying to stop a fight between...
