If you’ve been (im)patiently waiting for 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s return, you’re not alone. Rob Lowe, who stars as Captain Owen Strand, is eager for Season 5, on Fox‘s fall 2024 schedule, to get out there already. “We’ve been shooting for two or three months now, so I want to be able to see it already,” he told TV Insider at the network’s upfront red carpet. The Season 4 finale, which saw T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael L. Silva) get married, also featured a couple of tragedies: Carlos’ father was murdered, and Owen sat by his brother Robert’s (Chad Lowe) side for his death (his Huntington’s disease was progressively getting worse). It aired in May 2023; 9-1-1: Lone Star was not part of Fox’s schedule for the 2023-2024 season at all after the strikes, instead pushed to fall 2024. But...

Fox procedural “9-1-1: Lone Star” has been pushed back until Fall 2024, a spokesperson for the network told TheWrap.
As the broadcast networks continue to feel the impact of the Hollywood double strike this summer, the fifth installment of the Rob Lowe-led drama is set to consist of 12 episodes. Despite the rescue show’s success throughout its airing, producing a full season was not possible coming out of the work stoppage, which shut down virtually every ongoing production, according to an individual with knowledge of Season 5 logistics.
As “9-1-1: Lone Star” rolls out its fifth season during the 2024-25 season, it will air alongside new dramas “Doc,” which is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, and John Wells’ “Rescue: Hi-Surf,” which is co-produced by Warner Bros. Television. Both “Doc” and “Rescue: Hi-Surf” were previously pushed to premiere in the 2024 fall season due to residual impacts of the labor dispute.

Exclusive: Fox’s 2023-2024 schedule will not include the network’s two highest-rated drama series of 2022-23.
The move of flagship 9-1-1 to ABC was announced in May. Now its spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, which was renewed for a fifth season by Fox in May, will not return with new episodes this spring. Instead, the drama starring Rob Lowe will produce 12 episodes to air in fall 2024, making fans’ wait for Season 5 extra long.
Like any other linear or streaming series, 9-1-1: Lone Star has been impacted by the double Hollywood strikes. Earlier this fall, Fox and producing studio 20th Television had been discussing an 18-episode order — six episodes for midseason — and 12 for fall, sources said. As the SAG-AFTRA strike stretched into November, those plans changed, and the two sides ultimately agreed on 12 episodes for fall 2024.

Fox is bringing in some repeats of 9-1-1: Lone Star to its fall schedule as it tries to remind viewers that scripted drama still has a place on broadcast TV amid the writers and actors strikes.
The move sees unscripted competition series I Can See Your Voice, which has completed production of its third season, to midseason.
Season 4 of 9-1-1: Lone Star will air starting on Tuesday September 19 at 9 pm, after season 3 of Name That Tune.
The hope is that it can get some traction for the return of 9-1-1: Lone Star with its fifth season once the dual strikes are over. It comes as the show’s parent show 9-1-1 was not renewed by Fox in May, instead set to move to ABC, whose sibling studio 20th TV produces, once the strikes are over.

There was so much to love about T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos’ (Rafael Silva) wedding in the 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 finale, but we didn’t quite see everything that was filmed. And now, TV Insider can exclusively reveal a deleted scene that didn’t make the cut from before the ceremony. “You look perfect for a perfect day,” Owen (Rob Lowe) tells his son. “Almost perfect,” T.K. corrects him. “I think even the grave couldn’t keep your mother away,” Owen notes, which is true, since we did see Gwyn (Lisa Edelstein) at one point. Meanwhile, Carlos checks with his mom Andrea (Roxana Brusso) that he’s doing the right thing, after his father’s murder. “The day you asked your father to be your best man, he was the happiest I’ve ever seen him, so yes, you’re damn right we’re doing the right thing,...

“9-1-1: Lone Star” finally gave fans the Tarlos wedding they deserved. But a devastating twist put a damper on the celebrations, setting off a potentially dark parth for the newlyweds’ future.
Actors Ronen Rubinstein and Rafael L. Silva — who play the fan favorite couple comprised of paramedic Tk and police officer Carlos on the Fox first responder drama — spoke with TheWrap about the tragedy that struck days before their big day. The eventful two-hour finale followed the preparations for the wedding, until the action took a tragic turn when Carlos’ father Gabriel (Benito Martinez) was murdered in his home.
“No one saw that coming with Gabriel,” Rubinstein told TheWrap ahead of the episode’s debut Tuesday night. “Even when you’re the one on screen, they still manage to shock the actors every single time… That was really a hard one to swallow.

There will still be one 9-1-1 series on Fox in the fall. The network has renewed 9-1-1: Lone Star for its fifth season. This news comes just a couple weeks ahead of the two-hour Season 4 finale on Tuesday, May 16. However, Fox has canceled the original series; the good news is that 9-1-1 will be moving to ABC for its seventh season. 9-1-1: Lone Star, a spinoff, premiered in 2020. There hasn’t been much crossover between it and the original series — and this move suggests we shouldn’t expect much, if any moving forward — but Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, and Ryan Guzman did guest star on Lone Star in its second season while the 126 was among the firehouses battling a wildfire in Austin. 9-1-1‘s Angela Bassett then also appeared — via phone calls — in a Season 3 episode. Lone Star‘s cast includes Rob Lowe, Gina Torres,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 12 “Swipe Left.”] Before getting married, couples need to have the big, difficult conversations. T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva) think they’ve done that on 9-1-1: Lone Star… until a potential celebrant makes them realize they haven’t. While interviewing potential celebrants — though we have a feeling someone from the 126, say the already ordained Paul (Brian Michael Smith), might end up with the job — T.K. and Carlos discover they disagree about having kids: the paramedic wants them, while the officer does not. T.K., understandably, can’t just forget about “the gaping chasm that just opened up between [them]” and admits he just assumed his fiancé wanted kids. “You also assumed I didn’t have a wife,” Carlos points out. (Not the time.) He’s also not surprised they haven’t had that discussion just yet, since “we’ve been busy, working, trying ...

If T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva) can just get the rest of their wedding planning done and choose a celebrant, they’re ready to get married … right? Not exactly, as TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek from the April 11 episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star shows. The pair meet with potential celebrants from various beliefs, and at first, for the most part, everyone seems Ok. But then things quickly take a turn. Amethyst reads their “radiant auras” and remarks that with Carlos’ “a cool blue of a sage” and T.K.’s “a fiery passionate red,” their “couple aura turns into a prismatic…” When Carlos can easily fill in the blank, she asks if he has the sight, too. His response is the best: “No, I’m just familiar with the color wheel.” The reverend is clearly out once he tells them they’...

What exactly is going on between Owen (Rob Lowe) and the new woman in his life on 9-1-1: Lone Star? That’s the question everyone — including Owen! — has in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the March 28 episode. “Who doesn’t like being compared to Richard Gere?” Mateo (Julian Works) wonders. “I don’t,” Owen says, “particularly when it comes to exchanging cash for romantic favors.” When the others ask what’s going on, the captain tries to insist, “A gentleman never discloses.” But Paul (Brian Michael Smith) saw him cozying up to the bartender. T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) defends his dad, that he would never have to pay. Then Nancy (Brianna Baker) reveals, “That bartender has more money than God apparently,” and Mateo clarifies, “I wasn’t saying Pretty Woman Richard Gere, I was saying American Gigolo Richard Gere.” So who is this woman?
