The Whale is a movie directed by Darren Aronofsky starring Brendan Fraser whom we guess will win the Oscar… and an excellent Sadie Sink,
This movie is based on a play by Samuel D. Hunter.
As it can be with you, we didn´t feel like watching it at all and it surprised us in many ways.
It is as expected: extremely melodramatic and yes, it is about a man with hyper obesity.
Storyline
A university professor who can barely get out of his chair. He teaches online and his obesity points to the evident: if he does not do something about it, he will die within a few days.
Movie Review The Whale

There are transformative performances, and then there is what Brendan Fraser did for “The Whale.” The actor is almost unrecognizable under layers of makeup and prosthetics as he portrays a 600-lb. man in Darren Aronofsky’s dark drama based on the play by Samuel D. Hunter.
“It’s gonna be like something you haven’t seen before,” Fraser recently said of his performance. “That’s really all I can tell you…The wardrobe and costume was extensive, seamless, cumbersome. This is certainly far removed from anything I’ve ever done but not to be coy…I do know it’s going to make a lasting impression.”
That lasting impression may leave Fraser well-positioned to compete for Oscar gold next year. Aronofsky has a very strong track record when it comes to directing actors. Ellen Burstyn was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in “Requiem for a Dream...

dick clark productions announced today that Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther will receive this year’s “Hollywood Film Award,” and Pixar Animation Studios’ Incredibles 2 will receive the “Hollywood Animation Award” at the 22ndAnnual “Hollywood Film Awards,” taking place on Sunday, November 4 at The Beverly Hilton.
Both films received wide critical acclaim and broke box office records this year. Black Panther became a cultural phenomenon that has broken boundaries and created a movement, gracing the cover of Time Magazine. Black Panther had the highest grossing non-sequel opening weekend of all time, showing that diversity and representation in front of and behind the camera can equal global box-office success.

In 2004 Pixar Animation Studios relished the glory days of superhero fiction in The Incredibles, which had the throwback style of a comic strip, with the memorably Jazzy score and a collection of unforgettable characters. In the years since then, the film’s relatable reflections of family life and engaging action have made it a bit of a favourite among some fans, who have passionately craved a sequel. However, director Brad Bird has remained steadfast – despite being asked countlessly – that he would only do a sequel if the story were right. Well, 14 years on and with the hype train full to busting, Incredibles 2 is finally here and thankfully, the wait was more than worth it!

Pixar don’t really do bad sequels. I mean, we’re not counting Cars because sometimes it’s best to just forget – but follow up features to the likes of Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. have all been hugely successful, and thoroughly enjoyable endeavours. The Incredibles 2 now joins that list – and when we interviewed Holly Hunter, who reprises her role as Elastigirl, she explained that she had faith that the studio wouldn’t disappoint.
We also met the brains behind the whole project Brad Bird, who was sat alongside producers John Walker and Nicole Grindle, as we discussed how this whole project came into fruition. They also tell us the story of how, and why the supervillain in the movie changed during the course of production.
We ask Hunter what it’s like for her kids to know their mother is a superhero, and what makes this family so appealing to audiences.

The long awaited sequel to one of Pixar’s greatest hits landed in London yesterday amid a heatwave which necessitated the observance of the old adage: No capes! But the red carpet Brad Bird’s Incredible 2 brought with it two of the stars of the show: Samuel L. Jackson and Holly Hunter.
Colin Hart and Scott Davis were our superheroes on the press line yesterday and they spoke to the actors about returning to the roles thirteen years on, and Jackson gave us a little on his return to the M. Night Shyamalan-i-verse for the Unbreakable sequel Glass.
Joining Samuel Jackson, and Holly Hunter in the voice cast are Pixar’s lucky charm John Ratzenberger, Craig T. Nelson and Sarah Vowell.
Incredible 2 is released in the UK on the 13th of July.

(Note: This post contains some spoilers for “The Incredibles 2.”)
In “The Incredibles 2,” the heroic family at the center of the movie boasts a slew of impressive superpowers that apparently stem from their genetic makeup. And the most powerful of all is also the youngest (and tiniest): Infant son Jack-Jack, whose powers were a secret from his family (but not from the audience) in the original “The Incredibles.”
Bob, a.k.a. “Mr. Incredible” (Craig T. Nelson), and Helen, a.k.a “Elastigirl” (Holly Hunter) their super-speed-powered son Dash (Huck Milner) and invisibility-force field generating daughter Violet (Sarah Vowell) spent the entire run of the first “Incredibles” movie thinking baby Jack-Jack (Eli Fucile) was just a normal human. Audiences were in on the joke, though, seeing some of Jack-Jack’s special abilities onscreen toward the end of that movie.

“The Incredibles 2” and its predecessor “The Incredibles” take place in a world pretty much like ours, with the key difference being for a while at least, superheroes were as common as they are in comic books. And the similarities to our world have long made fans wonder when, exactly, all this is taking place. The bad news is that both movies are pretty vague about that question. The good news is that they still have a lot of hints and clues that seem to suggest a specific, highly retro time frame. Let’s take a closer look.
The first thing to remember is the context: 15 years before the start of the original film, superheroic activities were made illegal after people hurt during super-events stared suing the heroes for damages. The heroes were then forced into retirement as part of a sort of witness protection program. Furthermore, “The Incredibles 2” picks up...

Disney-Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” is flying to an estimated $182 million from 4,410 North American locations in its debut weekend.
Disney’s most recent estimate is more conservative, predicting an opening between $160 million and $170 million. Either way, “Incredibles 2” will become the animated film with the highest ever opening weekend, beating out 2016’s “Finding Dory,” which brought in $135 million.
“Incredibles 2” earned a record-breaking $18.5 million in Thursday previews alone, causing its debut box office predictions to skyrocket from an an earlier range of $125 million to $140 million. It grossed an estimated $71.5 million on Friday, and became the 47th film to earn an A+ CinemaScore. The film is currently rated at 94% certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Brad Bird film reunites original voice cast members Craig T. Nelson (Mr. Incredible), Holly Hunter (Elastigirl), Samuel L. Jackson (Frozone), and Sarah Vowell (Violet), with newcomer Huck Milner as Dash. Sophia Bush and Bob Odenkirk also star.

Superhero fatigue is growing. Honestly, I don’t think I could handle another Marvel movie right now as I still haven’t gotten over the ending of Infinity War. But, I knew that my bitterness wouldn’t apply to Incredibles 2 because if it was anything like the first one, it would transcend the genre. And simply put, it did. Developing on the themes of the original while also taking steps in new directions, this sequel makes you forget that these were the same people who made Cars 2.

Chicago – If you liked Pixar Animation’s original “The Incredibles” of 14 years ago, then you’ll find a lot to like with this sequel, which puts these “supers” back in their suits for another go around to save the world. The action in “Incredibles 2” picks up almost immediately after the original film left off.

The pinnacle of modern animation can be found within the 20 releases put out by Pixar. Ever since they started up with A Bug’s Life, their films have been hotly anticipated, both by critics and audiences alike. Now, with Incredibles 2 hitting theaters, they’ve continued an all but unparalleled run of excellence. Their lows haven’t been especially low, in particular when compared to the competition, while their highs have been a number of instant classics. Any list of the best animation of the last 50 years has got to include multiple efforts of theirs. That, if nothing else, succinctly sums up why this company does it better than anyone else right now. They are on a different level, plain and simple. What sets Pixar apart from everyone else is the way that they appeal to both adults and children in equal measure. They make you laugh just as often as they make you cry.

When Brad Bird entered Pixar to make “The Incredibles,” he was ahead of the curve with superheroes and midlife crisis storytelling. However, picking up where he left off 14 years later, with “Incredibles 2,” it was much harder to make a superior sequel, especially when Pixar cut a year off his production schedule to accommodate “Toy Story 4.”
The zeitgeist has changed, the superhero landscape has changed, animation has changed, and Bird has changed, after dabbling in live-action with “Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol” and “Tomorrowland.” Still, Bird had two holdovers in his favor along with greater animated super powers at Pixar: Making Helen/Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) the primary Super, relegating Bob/Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) to becoming a stay-at-home dad, and the unveiling of baby Jack-Jack’s McU-enticing super powers.

Superheroes are back to save the day — and the box office.
“Incredibles 2” will give the North American box office a nice boost this weekend as the Disney and Pixar animated superhero sequel is looking at a broad range between $125 million-$140 million when it bows at over 4,400 locations. A launch near the higher end of that estimate would earn the highly anticipated adventure the best opening weekend ever for an animated film.
That title currently belongs to another Pixar sequel, “Finding Dory.” The followup to 2003’s “Finding Nemo” launched in 2016 with $135 million and went on to pick up $486 million in North America and over $1 billion worldwide.
Like “Finding Dory,” enthusiasm has been strong for the sequel, which comes 14 years after its predecessor, “The Incredibles.” Early reception seems strong, as the film already boasts a 97% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s on par with the acclaimed first film’s 97% average.

Hollywood Heroes™: For years, the one product that fans have been begging Pixar to put into production is a sequel to The Incredibles. As other properties have been given one or even two sequels, this film of theirs has remained untouched. This week, however, that all changes. Incredibles 2 is hitting screens, and having seen it last week, I can gladly report that this is closer to a Toy Story outing than a Cars outing. Pixar has never fully swung and missed, but their franchise outings have been hit or miss. This is a huge hit though, and in some ways even better than the original. The flick is a followup to the original outing, The Incredibles. Our favorite superhero family from the first one is back, again consisting of patriarch Bob Parr / Mr. Incredible (voice of Craig T. Nelson), matriarch Helen Parr / Elastigirl (voice of Holly Hunter), daughter...

Finally!! Hallelujah!! It’s about time!! And some other assorted exclamations, etcetera. You animation/comic book fans know what I’m saying. The year was 2004, nine years after Pixar had turned the world of feature animation on its ear with the ground-breaking (first) Toy Story. After breathing life into the toys, along with bugs, fish, and “bump-in-the-night” monsters, they were tackling a story that mainly consisted of human beings, No, better than “puny” humans, superheroes (to avoid copyrights on that phrase they were “supers”). The Incredibles was a box office smash, but the sequel “go ahead” was never given, it seemed. Pixar continued to bring out the hits and collect lots of Oscar gold. And several of those flicks got their follow-ups. There was a third Toy Story (a fourth’s in the works), which may be the best of those “returns”. But fans wanted to get another romp with the Parr family.

In a film that isn’t particularly full of bold choices, “Incredibles 2” starts with a doozy: It picks up right where the first one left off, seeming to ignore the fact that a lot has happened in the 14 years since Brad Bird first joined forces with Pixar. The world is no longer the same place that it was in 2004, and the state of its superhero movies is similarly unrecognizable from what it was back then. Faster than a speeding bullet, the genre has become a major engine of the modern Hollywood machine, and the idea of a world without superheroes is now as unfathomable to us as it always was to Mr. Incredible, himself.

We've got another funny clip for you to watch from Pixar's Incredibles 2 that fans are sure to enjoy. It gives us a glimpse at what exactly Bob has been going through while taking care of the family while Helen is out saving the world. As you'll see, Jack Jack is kinda making his life a living hell, but the poor guy is doing his best under the circumstances. He just needs a little help so he called in his old pal Frozone to show him what he's been dealing with.
In Incredibles 2, Helen (Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose super powers are about to be discovered. Villains. What’s a Super to do? As “The Incredibles” adventure came to an edge-of-your-seat finale, Syndrome was foiled—thanks to baby Jack-Jack and an ill-advised cape—and his jet exploded into a fiery ball, destroying the Parr family home. But the family was more bonded than ever; Violet showed off her newfound confidence, and Dash discovered that second place would do just fine. It seemed like a happily-ever-after ending until someone called the Underminer declared “war on peace and happiness.”
Nearly a decade and a half later, fans will learn the fate of the Underminer when “Incredibles 2” opens in U.S. theaters on June 15. When “The Incredibles” first burst onto the big screen, Mr. Incredible’s super strength and Elastigirl’s stretchy flexibility wowed audiences around the globe—the film grossed more than $633 million worldwide, earning an Oscar® for best animated film.

A new clip has been released for Pixar's Incredibles 2 and it highlights the opening fight scene in the movie. The story for the film picks up right where the first Incredibles film ends, with The Underminer plowing his way up into the city from underground. At this point, the Parr family and Frozone race into action! This clip gives us a look at how some of that battle with The Underminer plays out.
I saw this full opening sequence at CinemaCon last month, and it was a blast! It's a great set up for the film. There's no doubt that fans are going to enjoy this movie.

This June has no shortage of potential summer-movie crowd-pleasers, from the return of Pixar's unstoppable super-family to a heist packed with famous faces to a cataclysmic meltdown featuring gigantic, genetically-altered dinosaurs. Thankfully, if blockbusters aren't your bag, you're also getting a cavalcade of Sundance favorites heading your way, including a doc on public television's unstoppable real-life superhero and a cataclysmic horror-movie meltdown featuring a hell-hath-no-fury Toni Collette. Here's what you'll be seeing at (hopefully air-conditioned) theater near you this month.

We've got a fantastically fun new international trailer for you to watch for Pixar's Incredibles two and it's packed with some great action-packed new footage! There are a lot of fans excited about this long-awaited sequel and according to Variety, the film is going to have a huge opening at the box office. They say that it will make at least $140 million domestically on its opening weekend, which is pretty impressive. It shouldn't really be a surprise that this movie is going to be a huge hit. The question is, will Disney and Pixar want to make another sequel? If they do, I hope they don't wait as long!
Incredibles 2 picks up right where the first movie left off when the Underminer comes up to attack the city. The whole opening sequence is the Incredibles family trying to stop him and it's a really great scene that sets the stage for the film.

Disney has released a new TV spot for Pixar's Incredibles 2 and features some new footage that fans will be interesting in seeing. Not only do we get to see another Jack-Jack power, with him multiplying, but we also get a first look at a few new Supers jumping into action. Those Supers include He-Lectrix, Voyd, with Brick in the background. You can find out more about these characters here. When talking about Voyd, Brad Bird said that she's a huge fan of Elastigirl, and that her "infatuation with Helen Parr has become quite passionate over the years, leading to a sort of manic obsession." He goes on to explain:
"There's a character named Voyd who's a new superhero, and she admires Helen and is kind of a Helen groupie. I described her to the animators as like, we had this dog that was this very big, powerful dog...

Disney has released a Japanese trailer for Pixar's Incredibles 2 and it's definitely worth watching because it's packed full of awesome new action-packed footage that you'll want to see! I recently got to see the opening sequence of the movie at CinemaCon this week.

Disney revealed the opening scene for its upcoming sequel Incredibles 2 during its presentation today at CinemaCon.
“For all of you wondering where the new movie picks up, wonder no further because right here, right now you’re going to see something really special, the beginning of the movie,” said Samuel L Jackson in a video message before the clip began.
It starts out with Agent Rick Dicker, who is charged with protecting the secret super-identity of the family, interrogating a student who recognizes one of the Parrs as the family was in the midst of thwarting the city’s destruction by the Underminer. The superheroes are hesitant at first to spring into action as Helen points out “it is still illegal,” which inevitably doesn’t stop them.

At the end of “The Incredibles,” the Parr family found themselves face-to-face with a new enemy: The Underminer. Now, 14 years later, we finally get to see how Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson), Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), Dash (Huck Milner) and Violet (Sarah Vowell) stopped the supervillain… while taking care of an infant child.
Audiences at CinemaCon in Las Vegas got to see the first five minutes of the upcoming sequel, which saw Violet’s crush Tony discover her super-powered secret… only to have his memory erased by a government agent.
Meanwhile, Dash and Violet play hot potato with Jak-Jak as they run after the Underminer’s giant drill to help their parents. Incidentally, the Underminer is voiced by Disney-Pixar mainstay John Ratzenberger.

Ultimately, the family shuts down the drill before it destroys City Hall with the help of Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson), and their spectacle catches the attention of Winston Deavor (Bob Odenkirk), a telecom exec who loves superheroes and wants to help the Parrs strike down the law that forced them into hiding.
Mr. Incredible is making the switch from Super dad to stay-at-home dad in the new “Incredibles 2,” a recent trailer revealed.
Elastigirl is recruited to lead a campaign to bring the Supers back. Bob is flummoxed that he wasn’t chosen as the new face of the Supers, but there’s plenty that heroics needed at home. Violet “has adolescence” in Dash’s words, and there’s no telling when Jack-Jack might burst into flame.
Of course, a new villain will bring the Parr family back together.
“Incredibles 2” will hit theaters June 15.

In the new trailer for Incredibles 2, the family gets a little more dysfunctional and a lot more powerful. Just like in the first trailer, Bob Parr (also known as Mr. Incredible and voiced by Craig T. Nelson) is at home with the kids, while his wife, Helen/Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter), heads off to save the world. He navigates Dash’s (Huck Milner) sarcastic remarks, Violet’s (Sarah Vowell) teenage rebellion and baby Jack-Jack’s burgeoning superpowers. Meanwhile, Elastigirl has to break the law in order to fix it and battle crime across the city.

There’s an “elephant in the room” at the Parr family dinner that kicks off this new trailer for Incredibles 2 from Disney/Pixar: mother’s got a new job, leaving dad to a Mr. Mom role — and he’s anything but super at it.
That’s the setup for this nicely done trailer, which neatly balances the Parr family domestic comedy — baby Jack-Jack’s fledgling superpower presents dad Bob (aka Mr. Incredible) with some literally fiery challenges — and fast-paced action as mom Helen (Elastigirl) battles the new villain The Underminer.
The new bad guy is voiced by John Ratzenberger, the Pixar veteran best known as know-it-all Cliff from Cheers, bringing this movie loads of experience at antagonizing. Holly Hunter voices Elastigirl, Craig T. Nelson is Mr. Incredible and their kids are played by Sarah Vowell (Violet) and Huck Milner (Dash).

14 years after the original movie arrived, Pixar and Disney are finally serving up The Incredibles 2, the long-awaited sequel to Brad Bird’s animated superhero classic.
To keep things fresh, the follow-up will swap the roles of Bob and Helen Parr from the first film. While Helen (Holly Hunter) gets to return to hero duty as Elastigirl, Bob (Craig T. Nelson) has to hang up his Mr. Incredible suit for a while and play house-husband – which mostly involves looking after his frighteningly-powered baby, Jack-Jack.
Now, to build anticipation ahead of release, Pixar’s debuted a new trailer which teases what looks to be another home run for the studio. Seriously, all signs point to the team being able to re-capture the magic of the first outing, as The Incredibles 2 appears to be another delightfully delicious piece of Pixar pie and we can’t wait to see more footage.

Is Elastigirl stretching herself too thin? Pixar released the second trailer for Incredibles 2 Friday, showing former housewife Helen Parr (Holly Hunter) leading a campaign to bring Supers back—all while her husband, Bob Parr (Craig T. Nelson), handles the day-to-day heroics of "normal" life at home with kids Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack (whose superpowers are appearing at random). Not everyone is thrilled with the turn of events. Bob is overwhelmed with his new role as a stay-at-home dad, and Violet is, like, so over it. Dash, meanwhile, can't help but be amazed by the gadgets and gizmos. "Whoa-!" he marvels at Helen's headquarters. "I like...
