- TriviaAlthough Iris West (Paula Marshall) was intended to be a regular character on the series, she was written out after the pilot.
- GoofsThe building used in the prison scene is one that is wholly inadequate for its purpose. Chief Cooper refers to the inmates as "...serial killers, hit men and the worst scum on earth...", yet there are corridors with large windows with unreinforced glass; interior scenes show as many as six occupants per cell and mixed male and female populations in the same cell block. Furthermore, Pike is able to shoot out the lock on an access tunnel with one shot. None of these conditions would be considered adequate for a prison holding the kinds of criminals the chief described.
- Quotes
Linda Park: You're not with the Homicide department, are you?
Barry Allen: No. Crime Lab. Want to film us pouring plaster into tire tracks?
Linda Park: [to her cameraman] Cut it. Let's see if we can find a real detective.
Julio Mendez: Well, see if you can find us a real newscaster while you're at it. I swear she was on the Shopping Channel selling earrings last week.
- ConnectionsFeatured in The Flash: Video News Release (1990)
The only failing point for The Flash was its time schedule. When Flash premiered it was up against The Simpsons and other juggernaut "Must see" shows. For this reason, viewer ratings were lower than wanted, which led to the eventual cancellation.
The only two questions now is when will this series be released on DVD? I mean - hell's teeth - if Golden Girls and Diff'rent Strokes can be put to disc, why not this?? Question Two is When (and will) DC aim at a big screen adaption?
