MEXICO CITY -- The Guadalajara International Film Festival, Mexico's top movie showcase, has tapped producer Jorge Sanchez as the film fest's new director. He replaces Kenya Marquez, who resigned in July, festival organizers said Friday. Sanchez has produced 17 pictures, including Danzon and El Coronel no Tiene Quien le Escriba, which is based on a Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel. Next year's festival runs March 24-31.
