General Hospital spoilers and updates tease a pregnant Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) could find her life is in danger, her and her baby’s fates sealed.
It’s very realistic to think that she could get in the middle of a shootout between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Pikeman assassins and get shot!
General Hospital Spoilers – Exactly What Tj Ashford Is Worried About
Tensions continue to escalate on with Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) ongoing downward spiral and his intensifying conflict with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and the Pikeman group.
Sonny’s behavior has been growing more unpredictable by the day, leading him to question the loyalty of those closest to him, including his own family and friends.
Surprisingly, he’s turned to Ava Jerome (Maura West) for support, accusing Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) of disloyalty, a major shift in his usual reliance on them.

Ivan Ayr grew up in northern India. Despite receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering, he pursued postgraduate studies in the United States in English literature as well as screenwriting and directing. At the San Francisco Film Society he wrote and directed his first short film “Lost and Found” (2014). His second short, “Quest for a Different Outcome” (2015) won Best Short Film at San Jose International Short Film Festival. Soni is Ayr’s feature directorial debut and was one of the five films selected by India’s National Film Development Corporation to be part of the prestigious ‘Work in Progress’ Lab at Film Bazaar, where it was mentored by French editor Jacques Comets and veteran festival director Marco Mueller. “Soni“, his feature debut, won a number of awards all over the world, was nominated for the Venice Horizons Award and is now streaming on Netflix.

Netflix’s catalog contains the most diverse selection of movies and TV shows available on any streaming service. Comedies, dramas, thrillers, romances, action: Netflix has it all. And one section of Netflix’s catalog often underrated my most is the Asian films section.
There are so many talented Asian actors, directors, producers, and writers, and there’s no reason not to experience the classics available on Netflix right now. So today, I want to tell you about 7 Asian films you need to watch.
But before we talk about those, let’s talk about geo-blocking. Geo-blocking restricts the content you’re allowed to watch due to your geographical location—not cool. Some of the movies I’m listing may only be available in the United States or United Kingdom, so if you want to watch all of these, you may need to bypass geo-blocking.

Shoring up artistic director Orwa Nyrabia’s commitment to showcasing more women’s stories and platforming more women’s voices, Idfa has announced that this year’s festival features the highest percentage of female filmmakers in the event’s 31-year history: 64% of competition titles and 47% of the total program.
“Reaching a fairer representation was much easier than it seemed to be,” noted Nyrabia. “We only had to keep our goal in mind. The outstanding films that found their way to us this year was a humble reminder that we are in the presence of exceptional female filmmakers.”
The festival opens with the world premiere of Mehrdad Oskouei’s “Sunless Shadows,” which depicts five young Iranian women complicit in the murders of abusive husbands, fathers, or brothers-in-law. The actor-to-director transition is one that we’re seeing more and more often. But for every Clint Eastwood or Angelina Jolie there’s a Nicolas Cage (bet you forgot he directed 2003’s “Sonny”). Which is why it’s so exciting when a beloved actor like Ethan Hawke churns out a genuinely heartfelt and good film.
Hawke’s previous directorial efforts have mostly been centered around music, such as 2006’s “The Hottest State” and 2014’s “Seymour: An Introduction,” a documentary about pianist Seymour Bernstein.

Nicolas Cage didn’t walk the red carpet at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, but his name was everywhere. At the Directors’ Fortnight sidebar, the actor’s wild-eyed performance in the revenge saga “Mandy” reminded cinephiles that while his penchant for overacting can border on parody, he’s a true creature of cinema. Sundance audiences embraced it as a genre experiment; the Cannes reception took it global. “For years, Nicolas Cage’s more extreme performances have been derided as a blight on cinema,” wrote Robbie Collins in The Telegraph, “but it turns out that cinema just had to catch up.”
Directors’ Fortnight, where Cage won similar approval two years ago as the self-absorbed criminal with a Humphrey Bogart obsession in Paul Schrader’s “Dog Eat Dog,” proved to be only one of several ways for the Cage brand to remain current at the world’s most prominent film gathering. Several Cage...

Nicolas Cage isn’t going to be acting forever. Speaking to The Blast (via Complex), Cage revealed that he plans to retire from onscreen acting in “three or four years” because he wants to focus exclusively on directing in the next phase of his career.
“Directing is something I look forward to down the road,” Cage said. “Right now, I’m primarily a film performer and I’m gonna continue doing that for three or four more years and I’d like to focus more on directing.”
Cage only has one feature directorial effort under his belt, the 2002 crime drama “Sonny.” The movie featured Cage in a cameo appearance and starred a young James Franco in the titular role. Harry Dean Stanton and Mena Suvari appeared in the supporting cast. “Sonny” tells the story of a discharged solider who returns home to New Orleans and tries to break away from...

Dysfunctional families have long been a cornerstone of the movies; conflict is key, and the closer to home the harder it hits. Horror has capitalized on this for several decades; Spider Baby (1967), The Baby (1973), The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (’74), and The Hills Have Eyes (’77) are just a few examples of familial ties more than a little twisted and frayed. But hey, that’s hospitality North American style; let’s hop across the pond and check in with the clan in Girly (1970), Freddie Francis’ veddy British and very dark comedy of manners, games, and psychotic role playing.
Distributed by Cinerama Releasing in February stateside but not until April in its homeland, Girly did much better business in North America than back home (where it was released under its original title Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny, & Girly); this can be attributed to the U.K. buttoning up while exploitation films pulled everyone else’s knickers down around the globe.

Plenty of folks wondered if James Franco had completely lost his marbles when he joined General Hospital for two months last winter as Franco, “an artist whose canvas is murder,” as the promos stated. Was it a publicity stunt? A favor to someone? (He has the same manager as Gh’s Steve Burton, who plays Jason.) A burning desire to get close to Sonny Corinthos any way he could? Franco insisted that a soap opera was just another challenge for him as an actor, and from the response his creepy character’s story got from fans, it seems he pulled...

Sonny Corleone’s kid has finally done it: Scott Caan, son of “Godfather” actor James Caan, has made his own movie. And it’s pretty good.
Caan wrote and produced “Mercy,” which closed the GenArt Film Festival last night. IFC will release the film on April 28th, directed by Patrick Hoelke.Troy Garity, Erika Christensen and Wendy Glenn co-star.
What’s interesting about “Mercy” is that it’s a romantic comedy (with a little melodrama) told from the male perspective. Maybe this is a trend. Josh Radnor’s film “happythankyoumoreplease,” which was at Sundance this year, is similar.
“Mercy” is very romantic, and Caan–who couldn’t get released from shooting “Entourage” in L.A. to be at last night’s premiere–makes for a sympathetic hero. It doesn’t hurt that halfway through he adds his dad to the mix. When James Caan appears on the screen,...

New Moca director Jeffrey Deitch might have just accepted the art world's most controversial position, but if there's one thing everyone can agree he's great at, it's throwing a party. And now, he's got a bright, blank new L.A. canvas to work with. We asked artists, curators and critics to provide some guidance for Deitch's new gig.
Time to pitch a Moca reality show to one of the major networks now that you're in L.A. The concept is your life: "Ack! The economy's gone to shit so now I'm a newbie museum director." During this 13-episode series viewers will watch you navigate museum politics, get lost in L.A. and schmooze with celebrities and art glitterati. Show title: Sink or Swim! The prize: Glory--and the USA's best museum stays open.-Paddy Johnson, Art Fag City
Deitch should expand his plans with James Franco and General Hospital and embrace Los Angeles' soap opera scene.

Okay... several things are going on right now, so let's get right to the break down.
Maxie and James Franco do a flirty dance of words in his studio, where he tells lie after lie and suddenly she grows a brain and believes none of it. Maxie kind of "gets" Franco's creepy facade, and is even turned on by it. There's more kinky blindfold action, and then there's action of a different sort. You know, the kind that will cause Spinelli's heart to break into a million shards like the glass Maxie dramatically throws to the floor.
Elsewhere, Lucky questions all the mob-related fellows in Port Charles. He starts in prison with Anthony Zacchara, and Anthony learns of his failed hit on Sonny, as well as Joey's death. Wah wah. Then, Lucky moves on to Sonny, who is surprised that Joey's body was posed at the crime scene. Finally, Lucky...

Let's start by saying that nothing good ever comes out of all of Port Charles congregating in the same place at the same time. Through the recent carnival calamity, hospital fire and Metro Court hotel hostage crisis (just to name some of the more recent mega-disasters) you'd think that our PC friends would have learned this by now.

Today's the day! James Franco made his soap debut on "General Hospital" as Franco.
Franco appears to be, on the one hand, an elusive but promising photographer who will show his work at a Crimson magazine gallery event. On the other hand, he makes his first appearance on the show dressed like a homeless person, lurking in the shadows as mobster Sonny Corinthos and his right-hand man Jason Morgan walk into a mob trap that turns violent on Front Street in Port Charles.
Franco witnesses the entire shootout, which leaves Sonny victorious and his rivals down for the count. As Sonny and Jason drive away from the scene of the crime, Franco, with a hoodie hiding his face, waves at the limo, taunting Jason.

Nicolas Cage: Bad To The Bone

It’s an inevitable event in every accomplished artist’s life: if you go back on the timeline of their existence and stop in adolescence, almost all of our greatest actors, writers, filmmakers, musicians and painters went through tumultuous, tortured teenage years, often scorned, almost universally ridiculed by their peers and elders alike for the cardinal sin of being “weird.” Most people run from their inner nerd as they grow into adulthood, masking it behind toned muscle, fine clothing and the right haircut, struggling to be that cool guy or gal whom we knew had all the answers and the clearest skin back when such things started to be de rigeur in our lives (and if you live in Southern California, continue to be).

The weird, lengthy comedy The Revenant (review)
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus
and much more. Program after the break!

Nicolas Cage gave legitimately great performances in Raising Arizona, Moonstruck, Leaving Las Vegas, Bringing Out The Dead, Red Rock West, Matchstick Men, and Adaptation. His hambone tendencies, meanwhile, have flourished in great bad performances in Con Air, the National Treasure movies, Zandalee, Sonny, and The Wicker Man. Then there are Cage performances that are so giddily, gloriously over the top that they muddy the line separating great from awesomely bad, like Face/Off, Wild At Heart, and Vampire's Kiss. Alas, Cage gives a depressingly awful performance in Bangkok Dangerous, the Pang brothers' Doa remake of their 1999 Thai cult thriller. Burdened with a permanent scowl and dead eyes, Cage never seems to be having any fun. His joylessness proves infectious. The Pangs' wildly melodramatic tale of a deaf assassin who finds love and meaning when he falls for a pretty pharmacist has been pointlessly transformed into the marginally less outlandish...

Producers of Nicolas Cage's directorial debut are laughing off claims he overlooked a co-author of his film. TV writer Robert Dellinger has filed a $2 million suit in Los Angeles claiming he co-wrote the story for Sonny with the film's credited writer John Carlen - but has been left off the credits for the film. But Cage's Saturn Films partner Nick Golightlty told reporters at the Deauville Film Festival, "The truth is, we don't know the origin of the screenplay. It was brought to Nic's attention, written by a single individual who claimed it to be his own work. It has become an issue that we don't know the answer to, but it's an insurance issue at best."...

Variety reports that writer Robert Dellinger has brought a suit against Nicolas Cage and five companies behind the feature film Sonny, claiming he isn't getting credit for co-writing Cage's directing debut in prison nearly three decades ago. The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in federal court in Los Angeles and seeks damages of more than $2 million for the movie, which will be featured at the Deauville Festival of American Film. The suit also seeks to block the film's sale in overseas territories. Dellinger says he and co-screenwriter John Carlen wrote four separate screenplays in the mid-1970s. Dellinger's suit alleged substantial pieces of the four screenplays ended up in Carlen's subsequent script for Sonny, which tells the story of a young man who is raised in a brothel and becomes a prostitute. Dellinger met Carlen at Terminal Island federal prison in Los Angeles in 1975, where Dellinger was teaching a creative writing course he had begun there while serving a sentence for extortion. Carlen, in prison for bank robbery, was a student in Dellinger's class. They subsequently collaborated on several scripts.
