Canada Day was two days ago, but it should probably be officially extended in order to celebrate the 30th birthday of Corey Sevier. He got his start as a child star, best known as Timmy for two seasons on the 1997 series remake of Lassie, and as Dan for two seasons on the series Little Men, but his adult career has been steadily growing, both on TV and the big screen
Speaking of steadily growing, so has his shirtless portfolio. So on his birthday, let’s take a look at the shirtless evolution of Corey over the last decade.
2004 – Decoys
2005 – North Shore
2006 – Gospel Of Deceit
2007 – Surf School
2010 – The Lost Future
2011 – Age Of The Dragons
2011 – 5th & Alameda
2011 – Immortals
2012 – Awaken
2012 – Osombie
2013 – Apartment 1303
Corey is currently starring on the Lifetime series Cedar Cove (which comes back for Season Two on July 19th), and while he hasn’t had any shirtless scenes yet, we have faith in him!

Rick Baker. Friend of apes. Maker of monsters. Seven time Oscar winner. And that lucky number seven was for The Wolfman, shared with fellow Efx maestro Dave Elsey. Their on-stage speech was great, but the extended Thank You Cam was even better. Both Baker and Elsey thanked Jack Pierce and Dick Smith for inspiring them. Though there were grumblings online that the Academy clip showed the CG transformation rather then the make-up. It is always a treat to see our own getting the gold.
In the best original music category, Trent Reznor won for The Social Network. But who could forget his rivethead contributions to Class of 1999, Se7en, and Tetsuo: The Bullet Man? And Danny Boyle’s nominated 127 Hours didn’t win for Best Picture, but we will always love him “best” for his bloody crazies in the 28 Days series.
Rounding out the highlights in horror cred are nods to Jason X,...

I must be really out of the loop because I had no idea the Sean Bean post-apocalyptic survival monster movie The Lost Future premieres on Syfy this weekend. Looking at these two clips from this South African production, it looks to potentially be a considerable step up from the usual schlock Syfy typically unspools on their Saturday evenings.
Sean Bean might wish he was back in the Lord of the Rings shire when he finds himself amongst the few humans trying to survive in a primitive wasteland populated by behemoths and mutant manimals in this Syfy original from Mikael Salomon, director of the 2004 remake of Salem's Lot and 2008 remake of The Andromeda Strain.

I first stumbled upon this trailer for Age of the Dragons on YouTube over a week ago but failed to write anything up about it because I noticed it was uploaded over two months ago and assumed we had already reported on it. That should give you an idea of just how under the radar this Moby Dick with dragons flick starring Danny Glover has been.
When we last reported on Age of the Dragons back in March, the title was Dragon Fire and next to nothing was known about it other than it being a $5 million take on Moby Dick shooting in Utah under the direction of Ryan Little (Forever Strong, House of Fears). Substituting a great white dragon for the infamous whale of Herman Melville's classic tale, a scarfaced Danny Glover stars as the obsessed Ahab, Vinnie Jones co-stars as Stubbs and call Corey Sevier (Decoys 2, House of Fears) Ishmael.

House of Fears is, for the most part, fairly typical slasher fare. It stars a pack of mid-to-late twentysomethings who are killed off one by one, save for a couple of brave brave fighters. It does, however and somewhat surprisingly, keep the gratuitous violence to a minimum, and there's nary a sex scene in sight. However, it doesn't have much else going for it — the writing's not that great, the cinematography's not that great, and the acting's certainly not that great. The overall plot has vague potential — some high school kids break into a theme-park style haunted house the night before its grand opening, only to find that their fears begin coming to life because of a tiny cursed statue!
The fears themselves are for the most part pretty general, ranging from claustrophobia, to a psychotic clown (as if there's any other kind), to being stabbed, to being buried alive.

He's killed a Predator, been murdered by Jigsaw, and spent considerable time being too old for this shit with Mel Gibson; now Danny Glover is taking on the Captain Ahab role and hunting a great white dragon in Dragon Fire, a fantasy reworking of the classic tale of Moby Dick.
The $5 million Herman Melville-inspired dragon flick shooting on location in Utah is being directed by Ryan Little (Forever Strong, House of Fears). As if dragons weren't ferocious enough, Vinnie Jones co-stars as Stubbs. Call Corey Sevier (Decoys 2, House of Fears) Ishmael. A possible limited theatrical release could be in the works for the fall.
Not much else about Dragon Fire out there at this time. In the meantime here's a YouTube video of a local Utah news station's set report complete with a look at crazy-eyed Glover and a rubbery dragon.

Wow, Dark House starring Jeffrey Combs looks horribly cheap and possibly really bad, but after watching the trailer I want to see it Now! The move is directed by Darin Scott who produced such favs as Love and a .45 and Stepfather II, and it also stars Meghan Ory (Decoys), Queen Bansheera from Power Rangers, and Shelly Cole of Gilmore Girls. A group of young actors is recruited to work for the ‘Dark House,’ a new haunted house attraction built by impresario, Walston Rey. His revolutionary new holographic system projects images of monsters throughout the house in an infinite number of variations. Walston has deliberately chosen a house which fourteen years before was the scene of a grizzly massacre perpetrated by Ms. Darode. Slowly the group begins to realize that things are not what they appear. The house locks down and the attractions begin to attack the actors with murderous intent...
