Cameron Diaz officially left Hollywood back in 2014, but she has seemingly changed her mind. Back in the day, the actress made her final appearance in a musical comedy film Annie where she starred alongside Jamie Foxx.
Ironically enough, Diaz’s first ever movie in 10 years will show her partnering once again with Foxx in Netflix’s upcoming spy action film.
Cameron Diaz’s big comeback to the screens will be featured in the streaming’s movie Back in Action. The title gives quite a big hint at the main plot twist as the movie follows two former CIA agents Emily and Matt who, after having left their careers beside, decide to start a family.
Realizing that their cover was suddenly blown, the characters are called back in action that roughly thwarted their plans.

With Christmas just one week (and one day) away, we wanted to ask you, the people, what your favorite Christmas Movie is? It doesn’t have to be the movie you think is the best, just the one that you eagerly anticipate watching every year. Is it the timeless tale of an angel getting its wings in It’s A Wonderful Life? or perhaps the under-appreciated (and genuinely hilarious) R rated The Night Before is how you kick off your holiday season?
Do you look forward to seeing Jack Skellington discover the true meaning of Christmas in the Christmas Movie Classic The Nightmare Before Christmas or watching Kevin McCallister take down the Wet/ Sticky Bandits in Home Alone 1&2 or perhaps seeing Clark W. Griswold struggle to have the perfect family Christmas in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is more your speed? Whatever film fills you with yuletide glee, we would love...

The star of one of the most iconic Christmas films of all time has waded into one of the holiday season’s most divisive annual debates: Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?
Peter Billingsley says yes — and in the season finale episode of his A Cinematic Christmas Journey podcast, which releases Dec. 15, he does his best to convince Die Hard cinematographer Jan de Bont.
“I mean, they didn’t think Die Hard was a Christmas movie. They happened to set it then, but the filmmakers weren’t intending that,” Billingsley explains. Instead, like many classics over the decades, its meaning to fans evolved. “This movie creates its own life, is in the culture and, over time, people discover it. It’s pretty great to see how that life can move in ways that the filmmakers never intended, or even ever imagined.” (Watch an exclusive clip from the episode below.)

It’s a lean month for new original content on HBO/Max. November will see the return of two scripted series in Julia and Rap Sh!t, both of which are debuting their respective second seasons, but this month’s fresh highlight is likely to be Bookie, a new comedy series from the partnership of The Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre, and Nick Bakay. The show tracks an LA bookie called Danny (Sebastian Maniscalco), whose business is in peril as California movies to legalize sports gambling.
Elsewhere in November, there quite a few interesting documentaries to keep an eye on, and two that jump out as “must watch”. The first is Albert Brooks: Defending My Life, which chronicles the aging comedian’s life and career. The second is the previously-released Little Richard: I Am Everything, which tries to peel back the whitewashed canon of Richard Penniman in a true...

Kevin Malone, played by Brian Baumgartner, is a fan-favorite character for many viewers of The Office. His dimwitted nature led to many of the show’s most hilarious moments, including his attempt to surprise his coworkers with a pot of chili. Yes, this has been floating around movie-nerd internet for some time, however, in the tradition of this column, that the last Friday before Christmas shall be an alternate Eyes Wide Shut poster, here we are. This 'Hallmark Christmas Movie' spoof was created for a screening of the film at the Bíó Paradís cinema in Reykjavik by Icelandic comedian, illustrator, and cartoonist Hugleikeur Dagsson. Using the more or less forgotten Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon holiday vehicle, Four Christmases, as a template, Dagsson not only subverts the 'lazy holiday-themed content' trend that has been exploding on various streaming platforms in the past few years, but it also foregrounds Stanley Kubrick's feature-length emasculation of super-star Tom Cruise by emphasizing the height difference between himself and ex-spouse Nicole Kidman...

If you are one of the people who watch "A Christmas Story" yearly as a holiday ritual, you are in good company — really good company.
Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie Parker in the 1983 film, and his Wild West Picture Show Productions partner Vince Vaughn have started a new video podcast called "A Cinematic Christmas Journey." They're tackling films like "Home Alone," "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," "Four Christmases," "It's a Wonderful Life," and "The Grinch." Of course, they're also breaking down "A Christmas Story."
Joining this episode are Ian Petrella, who played Randy, Scott Schwartz, who played Flick, and R.D. Robb, who played Schwartz, with Billingsley as co-host, along with Nick Schenk, who wrote the script for the new sequel "A Christmas Story Christmas."
The guys begin by talking about how the film did at the box office, and despite good reviews, it wasn't expected to do well, it seems.

If you grew up anywhere around cold weather and snow, you might already know this, but if you're new to icy conditions, here is a public service announcement: Do not touch your tongue to a flagpole when it drops below freezing. Even if someone triple-dog dares you. Of course, if you've seen the 1983 film "A Christmas Story," you probably already know this. You likely have, as TNT and TBS do a marathon of the film every holiday.
This was one of those moments that fills me with remembered dread, as I almost attempted this before I saw "A Christmas Story" for the first time. I wondered how they did this and if poor Scott Schwartz, who played the unfortunate Flick, was okay.

"A Christmas Story" is a staple of the holiday season, with annual 24-hour marathons on TBS and TNT. This year we have double the Ralphie fun because a sequel, "A Christmas Story Christmas," is streaming on HBO Max. Not only that, but Peter Billingsley, who played Ralphie, and his Wild West Picture Show Productions partner Vince Vaughn, have started a new video podcast called "A Cinematic Christmas Journey." The first episode is about "A Christmas Story," and we're getting some fun tales from the set.

There is an irony at play with Bob Clark's 1983 film "A Christmas Story." Set in 1940, "A Christmas Story" told an aggressively unromantic story of what childhood looked like at the time. It was a movie meant to undo any notions of warm nostalgia, freeing Christmastime from its halcyon and clichéd Rockwellian idylls. The young Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) was no well-behaved moppet, but a foul-mouthed, bratty child who longed to fire a weapon. He hated his school, and vengefully beat up schoolyard bullies. Santa was scary. The family Christmas tree was ruined. Christmas dinner had to be eaten at a Chinese restaurant, one of the only places open on December 25. Tradition, "A Christmas Story" posits, is an embarrassing joke.
The irony comes in with the film's eventual reputation. "A Christmas Story" became a seasonal classic, and the Gen-x children who grew up watching it happily proselytized its comedic power. Eventually,...

Chicago – The historic Cultural Center of Chicago got a early Christmas, hosting a screening of the new holiday film “A Christmas Story Christmas.” Story developer, producer and lead actor Peter Billingsley – reprising his role as Ralphie Parker from the original 1983 classic – walked the Red Carpet on November 15th, 2022.

In 1973, thirty years after the events of “A Christmas Story,” Ralphie returns to his former home in Hohman, Indiana. With him is his wife Sandy (Erinn Hayes) and children, visiting his widowed mother (Julie Hagerty) after the passing of the Old Man (the late Darrin McGavin in flashback from the original film). Desiring to give his mother, wife and kids a Christmas the Old Man would be proud of, Ralphie soon realizes that the task is much more difficult than when he was a child.

Legendary and Warner Bros Pictures have closed deals for four original cast members of “A Christmas Story” — Ian Petrella (Randy), Zack Ward (Scut Farkus), Scott Schwartz (Flick), and R.D. Robb (Schwartz) — to join the sequel to the holiday classic, according to an individual with knowledge of the project. The film’s original child star Peter Billingsley is set to reprise his role as Ralphie in the film.
The new film, intended for HBO Max, is titled “A Christmas Story Christmas” and will take place in the 1970s, 30 years removed from the original film, which was set in the 1940s. It will see an adult Ralphie bringing his own kids to his home on Cleveland Street to give them the same Christmas he had growing up. The film will aim to have the same period attention to detail in re-creating the ’70s as the original film did with the 1940s, and...

Nearly 40 years after it first debuted, the holiday movie classic “A Christmas Story” is finally getting a sequel, with original star Peter Billingsley set to reprise his role and produce. Warner Bros. and Legendary are backing the production.
“A Christmas Story Christmas” will be directed by Clay Kaytis (“The Christmas Chronicles”) from a script by Nick Schenk. Vince Vaughn is also producing, under the Wild West Picture Show Productions banner he runs with Billingsley.
A box office failure when it first premiered in 1983, “A Christmas Story” has become one of the most beloved holiday movies in cinema history. Much of the story’s appeal is its simple, nostalgic story about Ralphie (Billingsley), a 1940s kid who desperately wants a Red Ryder Bb rifle that everyone, including the local mall Santa, tells him will shoot his eyes out. The new film will take place in the 1970s, with the adult Ralphie...

A new year has finally arrived and HBO Max is set to open it with a bang. With its list of new releases for January 2022, HBO Max is rolling out some intriguing original series and an absolutely packed slate of library titles.
The real highlight this month comes on Jan. 13 with the release of Peacemaker. Developed by James Gunn, this series spins off John Cena’s titular character from last years’ The Suicide Squad. The show will delve into the pathology of a superhero who will achieve peace regardless of how many people need to be killed to attain it.
Also of note this month are second seasons for two major HBO series. Euphoria season 2 and The Righteous Gemstones season 2 both premiere on Jan. 9, making for quite the odd double feature. Meanwhile, the fifth and final season of superb comedy Search Party arrives on Jan. 7.
January 2022 is light as far as original movies go.

When we ask what happened to an actor it’s usually discovered that the individual has been on hiatus or has been starring in independent or short films for a while and has almost fallen off the radar in a big way. But with Patrick Van Horn it’s kind of obvious that he walked away from the business entirely since the movie Four Christmases is the last entry on his IMDb page, and that was back in 2008. To say that he wasn’t that prolific of an actor isn’t really that unkind since looking at his history in the business he

We’ve only got a few weeks left of 2020, so we might as well start looking ahead to 2021. HBO Max is set to enter into its second month of existence. And you know what that means: it’s Christmas in July!
HBO Max’s list of new releases for July 2020 is highlighted by one prominent Christmas movie: last year’s Emilia Clarke-starring Last Christmas. But the real cause for Christmas in July is all the exciting animated DC content coming our way on the first of the month. July 1 sees the arrival of just about every animated Batman project ever created. July 1 also features the arrival of just about every Justice League animated series ever created as well.
If that weren’t enough, July 1 is also when every live-action Superman movie (save for Man of Steel) makes it streaming debut. July is starting to look like a month where HBO Max establishes its real potential and geek culture bonafides…despite an at-times difficult rollout.

When HBO Max launched last month, DC fans hoped it would be the premiere place to go to watch all their favorite DC content. While the streaming service did have an impressive array of films and TV shows available on launch, there were a lot of notable missing titles, too, due to pre-existing licenses getting in the way. As time goes on, though, more DC properties will end up on the site. Case in point: this July will see a whole heap of superhero content go up on HBO Max.

The company, launched in late 2018, has begun making cast offers and will distribute the film in the U.S. and sell the international rights.
“Ground Control to Major Tom” is the story of an astronaut and a Nasa ground control expert who have never met but fall in love over the course of the astronaut’s classified mission to an abandoned space station. When things go wrong and the astronaut’s ship is destroyed, ground control and the rest of the world presume he’s dead — until 18 months pass and they receive word he’s alive. Now, the only thing standing between them is a huge expanse of space and a dangerous attempt to get him home.
The title is taken from the opening line of David Bowie’s 1969 single “Space Oddity.

Universal and Paul Feig are hoping that holiday rom-coms made at the right price can still pay off theatrically with “Last Christmas,” which opens Friday starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding. “It’s a love letter to London and it felt like the kind of movie we need now,” says the “Bridesmaids” director.
But since the days of sentimental yet satisfying movies like “Love Actually” and “Four Christmases,” the audience for that type of romance has mostly defected to Netflix. The streamer went full-bore into holiday fare with “A Christmas Prince,” “A Christmas Prince: Royal Wedding” and “The Christmas Chronicles” with Kurt Russell. In the next few weeks, Netflix is adding “The Knight Before Christmas” and “A Christmas Baby: The Royal Prince.”
So “Last Christmas,” which is projected to open mildly at north of $10 million, will test the waters to see if there’s still a theatrical audience for lovers...

In the next few weeks, Netflix is adding “The Knight Before Christmas” and “A Christmas Baby: The Royal Prince.”
So “Last Christmas,” which is projected to open mildly at north of $10 million, will test the waters to see if there’s still a theatrical audience for lovers...

Reese Witherspoon is a powerhouse of an actress, but let's just say she's not dunking on anyone on a basketball court! Although the Big Little Lies actress's height is listed on both Google and IMDb as 5'1", Reese cleared things up on Instagram by declaring that she's 5'2". We've never really thought twice about Reese's height, but Meryl Streep's sassy character in the HBO series had some thoughts.
In the season two premiere of Big Little Lies, we're introduced to Mary Louise Wright (played by Meryl), the mother of Alexander Skarsgard's character and presumably the new sh*t stirrer of Monterey. When Meryl's character meets Reese's, she immediately tells her she is "very short." Mary Louise should know better than to dis the queen bee of the town, but she has her reasons. "I find little people to be untrustworthy," Mary Louise says.
For reference, Reese's Big Little Lies costars are taller than her.

There can only be one king of Christmas at the box office — and it’s not Santa!
According to boxofficemojo.com, 1990’s classing Home Alone is the highest grossing Christmas movie of all time, with a lifetime gross of $285.8 million. While that sounds like a lot now, the website also adjusts for ticket price inflation from the last 28 years, meaning the movie made the equivalent of $619.1 million in today’s time.

Minds have been blown across the internet over the last week following a discovery that has been hiding in plain sight for 15 years: Peter Billingsley, the actor behind the iconic role of Ralphie in “A Christmas Story,” also appears in the Christmas movie classic “Elf.” Not only that, but he also appears in the Christmas film “Four Christmases,” starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn.
The discovery went viral after a tweet announced Billingsley’s “Elf” role to the world, which was followed by the viral Buzzfeed article, “I Was Today Years Old When I Realized ‘Ralphie’ Was That Actor In ‘Elf.'” Of course, Billingsley hasn’t been hiding his career and anyone who found themselves on the actor’s Wikipedia page or IMDb page would’ve seen he’s been a presence in numerous Christmas films over the years.
More surprising, Billingsley is listed as an executive producer on “Iron Man,...

Black Friday Update: The Wednesday before the Thanksgiving repped a record day at the box office according to ComScore with all films making $56M, topping 2013’s Thanksgiving Eve which grossed $48M. Business on Thanksgiving declined due to the holiday by 24% to roughly $42.3M, however, today, Black Friday is one of the more lucrative days at the domestic B.O. and the industry is projecting a 107% boost over yesterday with $87M-plus.
Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet led all titles on Thanksgiving, natch, with $10.3M, -44% from Wednesday, but the industry re-adjusted their five-day outlook for the Disney sequel to $88.5M, still robust and higher than Coco and Moana, but that would be the second highest Thanksgiving 5-day after Frozen. Better to wait to Saturday as matinees could put this movie over $90M again. The 3-day is looking like $59.6M.
