Last December, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Loki star Jonathan Majors was found guilty on one count of intentional assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree by a New York jury.
That came after a March 2023 altercation with his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. In April, Majors was sentenced to a 52-week, in-person domestic violence intervention program; however, he's continued to maintain his innocence.
Majors and Jabbari met while working on the Marvel Studios movie (she was a movement coach). Between the aforementioned guilty verdict and other allegations of physical and emotional abuse, the actor's Hollywood career stalled as did his aspirations to become one of the world's biggest movie stars.
Between his Marvel work and other critically acclaimed performances, that's the track Majors was on and it's unclear whether he'll ever be able to regain that lost momentum...and whether he should be allowed to do so.

Even the once-indomitable Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t bulletproof to superhero fatigue, at least not anymore.
The MCU went from making cinematic behemoths to box-office failures, an unfortunate yet conspicuous development that has taken place in recent years. But what is being labeled as superhero fatigue – the supposed culprit behind the studio’s morbid flops – isn’t the actual root of the problem. And The Boys‘ Antony Starr has the perfect solution for giants like Marvel Studios to fix that.

Considering how Marvel went from being the most successful superhero brand to seeing miserable days at theatres, it might do Kevin Feige some good to take notes.
Antony Starr Addresses the Infamous Superhero Fatigue
Portraying a superhero on-screen for the past five years, Antony Starr is well aware of the woeful state of some industry giants like the MCU suffering because audiences are less and less receptive to superhero films.

The sun may be setting on the Marvel empire but the tired old franchise might yet have a few tricks up its sleeves. Refusing to go down without a bang, the MCU has started to collect the debt from its past (and a few from the future). As a result, it’s finally time for Midnight Sons, the highly anticipated project to come to fruition after years of unfulfilled expectations and a grueling cinematic experience.
Midnight Sons [Credit: Marvel Comics]To Marvel’s credit, what the superhero vehicle lacks in quality, it more than makes up for in timing. After scarring people’s memories with movies like Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the MCU seems to have shifted its gears back to neutral instead of driving in reverse. With Midnight Sons, the franchise can begin to heal its past mistakes and start anew.

Since the most unsettling aspect about Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror is that he can never truly be killed, MCU thus appears pumped to unleash multiple versions of the same villain throughout Phase Five. According to Marvel Comics, a variant of Kang can pop up at any time for any reason, and Marvel is willing to go along with these variants in upcoming projects.
Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania | Marvel StudiosThis led people to wonder if a Kang variant has always been present in the MCU timeline, which prompted people to speculate Iron Man 3 character Harley Keener turned into Iron Lad, a variant of Kang. Unfortunately, considering the actor Ty Simpkins who played Keener was racially white, there appeared a casting conflict. Now, Marvel seems to be allegedly race-swapping the major superhero with Isaiah Hill, to fit in as the Kang variant.

A combination of Jonathan Majors' firing and the tepid response to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has led to Marvel Studios changing its plans for Kang the Conqueror.

With the Avengers becoming torch-bearers of the past and their memory serving as mythical reminders of what the MCU once used to be, fans too have languished in the glory days of old. After spending years and billions in resources behind rebuilding the franchise, it’s high time Marvel regrouped its best and brightest for a team-up movie in an effort to jumpstart its lost momentum.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was released in 2021 to mostly positive reviews, and while the Flag Smashers were a forgettable addition to the MCU, we were left with plenty of other big talking points.
Sam Wilson became Captain America, Bucky finally moved on from his past, U.S. Agent made his presence felt, and Sharon Carter was established as a deadly new villain.
Mackie first played The Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He later returned in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, so how did he feel about returning to television?
"Television is really hard. My first episode of television was Law & Order," Mackie told actor Tyler James Williams about the challenges of his transition in an interview with Variety. "It was the hardest seven days of my career. TV is real, TV is a different beast,...

Though Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* is still shooting, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has finished filming her scenes as the scheming Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
The Seinfeld star revealed that she had now wrapped on the movie, although she declined to share any more details when asked if she performed any stunts while working on the project.
"I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Marvel Universe, but when you join it, you sign your life away in an NDA. So, if I say anything to you right now, I will be executed by the universe."
Does this indicate that Val will have a smaller role in the movie than we'd been led to believe? Not necessarily, but she was never likely to have as much screen time as the characters who make up the team, and we're hearing that the movie is scheduled to wrap within the next couple of weeks,...

Taylor Sheridan’s critically acclaimed Yellowstone is all set to approach its end this year with Season 5 Part 2. But the Dutton universe is far from its conclusion as Sheridan has expanded it with multiple spin-off shows. While two prequel shows 1883 and 1923 have already been successful, the Dutton Ranch is reportedly introducing Kurt Russell in a planned sequel spin-off.
Kurt Russell in The Hateful Eight | FilmColony
The Yellowstone universe has always boasted immense star power with Kevin Costner in the canonical series, Tim McGraw in 1883, and Harrison Ford in 1923. Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer were also reported to join the cast in an upcoming spin-off. While we still do not have any updates about their casting, Kurt Russell has a strong possibility.

Besides the 1883 and 1923 prequels, Taylor Sheridan also expressed plans for a spin-off sequel series 2024 to Yellowstone.

Kevin Wright joined Marvel Studios as a development assistant before being tasked with working as a production and development manager on 2016's Doctor Strange. From there, he rose to associate producer on Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018 and, as a full-fledged producer, took charge of Loki.
Now, though, his time in the MCU has reached its end.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Loki executive producer and former Vice President of production and development at Marvel Studios has exited his position to produce original film and TV projects, independently. It's currently unclear what those will be but they'll surely be worth keeping an eye on.
"I am incredibly proud of my contributions to the MCU and thankful for my time at Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Company," he told the trade. "The industry has changed dramatically during my near decade with the company, and I can no longer ignore...

The MCU has experienced a bit of a lull in recent years. While they’ve provided audiences with occasional hits, the slew of flops cannot be ignored. In this pivotal moment, the departure of Kevin R. Wright, who has been the man behind one of the most successful shows in MCU history, from the Marvel offices, might spell bad news for both the fans and the studio.

With projects like Loki, which have pushed boundaries and expanded the MCU’s narrative in a way people did not expect, Wright’s absence could leave a significant void in the studio.

Actor Evangeline Lilly has announced that she is stepping away from Hollywood for the foreseeable future. However, she has also mentioned being open to returning one day, contingent on how her current plans align with her future aspirations. Netflix unveiled first looks at a whole host of its upcoming animated shows and features during an event on Thursday, and Rebel Moon director Zack Snyder was on hand to introduce the first footage from his Norse Mythology series, Twilight of the Gods.
“I love mythology,” said the filmmaker. "On a scale like this, I feel like animation was the greatest way to tell the story.”
First announced way back in 2019, it's taken quite a while to find its way to our screens, but we recently learned that the show will finally premiere on Netflix this Fall.
The project has been described as "Anime-influenced," but judging by these clips, we'd say the animation style has more in common with the Academy Award-nominated Cartoon Saloon studio.
“When most people think about animation, they think about Saturday morning cartoons, or G-rated movies,” said the presentation’s host, Christopher Sean. “But animation is...

It seems like the Marvel Cinematic Universe is back on track with Deadpool & Wolverine. The hype for the film is ever so high, as the movie is set to make several changes in the official MCU timeline. One of them is the formal assimilation of mutants and finally bringing the X-Men home after years of waiting.
X-Men [Credit: 20th Century Studios]In Marvel comics, stories involving the X-Men and Avengers have often run parallel to each other. Hence why we often see these two groups teaming up and even having members from one team helping out the other. With the MCU already establishing the Avengers more than a decade ago, fans are left to wonder how they are going to bring the X-Men to the forefront now.
However, there might be a simple solution to that, which involves Kang the Conqueror and the Tva.

Sadly, after entertaining movie enthusiasts for so many years, she has decided to step away from it all to follow her dharma.

Defining a major turning point in his career, Robert Downey Jr immortalized himself in popular culture with his portrayal of Iron Man in the 2008 flick that kick-started the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first place. Yesterday, Lost and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Evangeline Lilly confirmed she's stepping away from acting for the foreseeable future. As a result, it appears her time as the McU's Hope Van Dyne has ended.
Lilly did leave the door open to possibly working in Hollywood again but seems to have no immediate plans to do so. In a statement shared with Variety, the actress also confirmed she's under no "contractual obligations to anybody."
That's almost certainly a reference to Marvel Studios and the fact she saw out her contract with the Ant-Man threequel.
"I have actually been on a hiatus from acting for the past three years already (since finishing work on 'Quantumania')," Lilly told the trade. "This time outside of the business has brought me a grounding sense of fulfillment and joy."

Lilly added, “I am so filled with joy and contentment today as I live out my vision.”
The post was accompanied by a video of the actress recorded on the set of ABC phenomenon Lost, which ran from 2004-2010. Evangeline Lilly will be stepping away from acting for the foreseeable future, she revealed in a new video posted to Instagram. Watch it and read Lilly’s full statement below.
“Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment,” Lilly wrote in the caption. The video shows footage from her time on the television show Lost, which catapulted her to fame in the role of Kate. “Ideally, 10 years from now, I’d like to be a retired actress,” she tells the camera.
For fans of Lilly’s work — or anyone hopeful to see her continue in the role of The Wasp in Marvel’s Ant-Man series — the decision may not be permanent. “I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong,” she continued in the caption.

Exclusive: Corey Stoll (Billions) and Bobby Naderi (The Beekeeper) have been tapped for series regular roles opposite Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks in Prime Video’s thriller series The Better Sister, based on the novel by Alafair Burke.
Stoll plays Adam, who has muscled his way from a local boy in Ohio to the white shoe law firms of New York City, but finds it difficult to embrace the high-class life his wife Chloe (Biel) has built around them. A devoted father, he worries about the impact their new wealth has on his son Ethan.
Naderi plays Matt Bowen, the younger partner of Nancy Guidry, a detective investigating the murder of Chloe’s husband Adam. Matt approaches things with a kinder style, but that softer approach doesn’t entirely mask his profound ambition.

Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
The team first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1997 in an issue of The Incredible Hulk. They seemed to be a new group of superheroes that had arrived on the scene and gained acclaim very quickly. The reader was informed that the group was actually a group of supervillains led by Baron Zemo.

The aftermath of Avengers: Endgame had Marvel Studios enter its multiverse saga. A deep dive into the storyline with projects such as Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, marked the beginning of that chapter and threw open the doors to endless possibilities. Furthermore, after its take on Kang saw botched results owing to narrative failures in flicks like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, a revamp of sorts is on the way with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Portraying a Marvel superhero is no easy feat. Not only do actors have the shoulder the expectations of millions and millions of rabid fans, but they have to try and maintain the physical standards of, well, superheroes. They don't just have to be fit, but have to be unrealistically muscular and lean, which leads to all kinds of intense dieting, harsh workouts, and possibly even steroid use. Sure, they often wear costumes that are specifically tailored to make them look extra ripped, but there are almost always scenes showing off a bit of skin, which means a whole lot of hard work behind-the-scenes.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, "Ant-Man" star Paul Rudd revealed that he had to undergo an extremely restrictive diet while training to play Scott Lang, a.k.a. the titular Ant-Man. That meant eating very specific foods with lots of protein and limiting his intake...

Avengers 5 was originally titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, the movie lost that shortly after Marvel Studios decided to take the focus off Kang the Conqueror (a reaction to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's mixed reviews and Jonathan Majors' firing).
While there have been some pretty reliable Doctor Doom rumours, a new actor is expected to play a Kang Variant who serves as the Multiverse Saga's main threat. Meanwhile, Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron is overhauling Avengers 5's script after Jeff Loveness first took a crack at it.
He was supposedly fired from the project shortly after the Ant-Man threequel flopped, while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton left the movie to focus on Wonder Man and the Shang-Chi sequel.
Scooper @MyTimeToShineH has shared an update on Avengers 5 today, claiming that pre-production begins next month.

Marvel Studios has done a pretty good job of keeping a lid on the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie, right down to that mysterious asterisk that was added to the title just before filming began. We've been able to piece a few things together via leaks and cast interviews, but for the most part, the project remains shrouded in secrecy.
Now, some new story details have found their way online. There's nothing too revealing here - and there's a decent chance this much, at least, will be highlighted in the first trailer - but if you'd rather know as little as possible, here's your spoiler warning.
According to Daniel Richtman, the movie will begin with Yelena Belova, US Agent, Ghost and Taskmaster being sent by Contessa Valentina Allegra De Fontaine to take out an unknown target "in a vault." We don't know who this character is, but the crew soon realize that...

Here in the USA, we tend to cling to certain stereotypes about our Canadian neighbors. That they’re exceptionally polite. That they’re obsessed with ice hockey. That they say the word “eh” a lot. Some of that may even be true. But there’s one cliché aboot — um, about — the Great White North that turns out to be demonstrably false: The place is much more diverse than you might think.

Even if "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" is arguably the lowest point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and marked the beginning of what seems to be the end of its dominance in pop culture and box office, there is no denying that the first two "Ant-Man" movies are fantastic. They serve important roles in balancing out rather bleak and dense chapters in the Infinity Saga with some light fun that also grounds the universe and shows how regular people live outside of the big world-ending events.

Nathan Fillion thought Ant-Man was a low-rung superhero before he saw Paul Rudd carrying the role easily. He was surprised when Rudd made the character almost endearing to him. Earlier it was rumored that Fillion was considered for the Ant-Man role. The rumors started after Joss Whedon directed The Avengers, as he and the director had worked together on Firefly.

Fillion debunked the rumors, sharing that there was no truth in them. Interestingly, Fillion had an affinity to play a comic book supervillain, which came true when he was cast as T.D.K. in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

When Paul Rudd debuted as Ant-Man, he quickly made the pint-sized hero one of the most popular characters in Marvel. His take on the character even impressed Nathan Fillion, who didn’t have the highest opinion on Ant-Man at first.
What Nathan Fillion thought of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man Nathan Fillion | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Fillion considered himself a fan of superhero films, and starred in his own fair share of crime-fighting flicks. He was known for voicing Green Lantern on a couple of animated DC projects. He also had a role in the James Gunn original superhero movie Super.
In a resurfaced interview with the Advocate, while expressing his own desire to play superhero films, Fillion discussed his love of Marvel films. He was particularly surprised by the Marvel film Ant-Man, with Rudd playing the titular character. Fillion thought Rudd helped make a character he considered silly at first look quite endearing.

Corey Stoll’s son Nico isn’t quite ready to see his dad playing the supervillain.
The actor, who portrays Yellowjacket in Marvel’s Ant-Man, recently told People magazine that his 8-year-old son “just started trying to watch” the 2015 superhero movie, however, he didn’t get very far.
“He was like, ‘This is weird,'” Stoll recalled, adding that he thinks “seeing me as a bad guy is a little weird for him.”

The Billions star later opened up about the impact of fame. While he knows it comes with the territory of being an actor,...
