- The SGC learn that the Russians have a Stargate of their own and they need the Americans' help with their problems with it that are affecting them both.
- When an attempt to dial out a wormhole fails, the SGC discovers that the Russians have a Stargate and that it won't shut down. Together with a Russian expert, SG1 parachutes onto the Russian base. They discover that the Stargate is the one lost on Thor's ship. Everyone on the base is dead, and some mysterious water taken from a water planet is missing. Three of the team travel to the Waterworld by mini-sub. Back on the base, O'Neill discovers a frozen Maybourne inside the freezer.—Anonymous
- After the SGC's stargate suddenly refuses to dial the seventh chevron to open a wormhole, Sam can think of only one explanation, based on rare experience: another stargate must be open on earth. The only known stargate was believed to be lost in the atmospheric destruction of Thor's ship, but seismic records confirm that it may have landed in Siberia. Major General George Hammond soon learns from the Pentagon that the Russians indeed got hold of the stargate in secret, but are beyond their expertise as it malfunctions, so they invite SG-1 to investigate with their Sam-counterpart, Dr. Svetlana Markov. Although apprehensive, Jack must admit it's better to help them than lose both gates and remain defenseless from a permanently open wormhole to another planet. Markov brings them by parachute to the Siberian SGC, an abandoned experimental nuclear facility, where all personnel have been killed. Daniel and Jack join Markov in a submarine to a watery planet through the wormhole, only to find they didn't arrive in water but a more intriguing, possibly sentient liquid. Meanwhile, Jack and Teal'c find the body of traitor/spy Harry Maybourne; but he's not actually dead, but possessed by an alien life form.—KGF Vissers
- Stargate Command has a problem when they are unable to use their gate to dial out. The problem, it seems, is that the Russians also have a Stargate which remains open. The Russians have lost contact with their team, and it's been agreed that SG-1 will accompany a Russian scientist, Dr. Svetlana Markov, to assess the situation. They arrive to find everyone, many of whom were Markov's close friends, dead. The gate is locked onto an underwater world and there is definitely a creature of some sort in the Russian station, a new type of being not previously encountered. O'Neill is surprised when he comes across someone from their past.—garykmcd
- The SGC has a problem engaging the Stargate and soon discover that the Russians have found the Stargate lost on Thor's spacecraft at the bottom of the sea. Further, they have built their own Stargate Command. However, they are facing problems in the operation of their Stargate that are also affecting the American one. SG-1 is invited to team-up with Russian scientist Dr. Svetlana Markov to help her correct the problem. They fly to Russia and parachute onto the base there, but find the crew dead and the sample of water they had taken from the planet missing. Jack, Sam, Daniel and Teal'c are impressed at how quickly the Russians have been able to acquire the technology. But soon Jack finds the person responsible alive in a frozen chamber while Dr. Markov, Sam and Daniel use a mini-submarine to explore the mysterious water planet.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
