Did the #SaveBlueBloods campaign work? Paramount Global co-ceo Brian Robbins reportedly hinted at the possibility of a Blue Bloods spinoff during a shareholders meeting on Tuesday, June 4. As it stands, Blue Bloods Season 14 Part 2 will be the final season and will air later this year on CBS. Robbins reportedly said during a Paramount shareholders meeting on June 4 that “in TV, new franchise extensions are coming for Dexter, Billions, and Blue Bloods,” according to TVLine. Robbins reportedly added that “CBS’ hit Fire Country shows huge promise,” hinting that Fire Country‘s success could lead to a franchise extension. TV Insider reached out to CBS for comment on a possible Blue Bloods spinoff. Dexter and Billions‘ expanding franchises were already known to the public, but Blue Bloods‘ impending end has been the main headline for the show all season. Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, and more stars of the cop procedural have voiced...

Maybe Tom Selleck was right: The Blue Bloods universe may not be finished after all.
In a presentation at Paramount’s annual stockholders meeting on Tuesday, Paramount Global co-ceo Brian Robbins hinted that a new Blue Bloods series is in the works following the CBS drama’s announced end later this year. “In TV, new franchise extensions are coming for Dexter, Billions, and Blue Bloods,” Robbins told shareholders, adding that “CBS’ hit Fire Country shows huge promise.” Now we knew that new offshoots of Dexter, Billions and Fire Country were already in development, but nothing has been officially announced about a possible Blue Bloods spinoff.

Today, Tom Selleck is among the most celebrated and renowned TV stars in the world, and for the past 14 years, he’s been mostly acting in Blue Bloods. The actor’s real breakthrough, meanwhile, happened almost 45 years ago, back in 1980! That’s when the pilot episode of Selleck’s Magnum P.I. premiered and the audience immediately fell in love with his charming detective.
But during these 45 years, Tom Selleck has been exclusively referring to his iconic series as “Magnum” instead of “Magnum, P.I.” — and few people know why.
Tom Selleck’s Vow Is Rooted in His Principles
The obvious reason for Selleck’s disregard for his legendary show’s official title would be his aesthetic preference or an internal joke of sorts, but the actor’s vow had nothing to do with those things. Having lived in Hawaii for a while before starting the series, Selleck knew more about the local customs than the showrunners.

The Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 10 ended on a major cliffhanger, leaving fans wondering if Miriam McLusky -- mother of Mike -- would survive.
However, we recently learned that Dianne Wiest was not on the list of names to be part of the show's third season.
So we should have been prepared. But we weren't.
In true fashion, Mayor of Kingtown Season 3 Episode 1 opened with emotions -- first a funeral, then an explosion as everyone returned to their cars.
Talk about setting the bar high for what to expect this season. And instead of grieving like normal people, Mike did his mayoral duties.

It's interesting to see the tightrope he has to walk to keep the peace between the gangs -- criminals and police.
The dynamic he shares with his officer brothers strikes an ideal balance with his ex-con ways.

If there's one thing that makes Blue Bloods feel so warm and homey, it's the Sunday dinner scenes. Reminiscent of what goes on in many homes across the country, the show never fails to remind its viewers that the characters are people, just as real as the fans, with their own traditions and unbreakable customs.
No matter what happens on screen, viewers can always count on the Reagan family to come back to the table and remember the importance of family. One might think that these scenes are the most difficult for the actors to film because of the number of choreographed lines between all the family members.
But as Tom Selleck admits, the words are the last thing that bothers him.

The odds are in Tracker’s favor, as the show has just triumphantly ended the 2023-2024 TV season garnering an impressive amount of viewers and surpassing even CBS’ long-standing giant NCIS.
Apart from NCIS, Tracker is followed by CBS’ other successful projects, and though many of them came quite close to the number one position, the Justin Hartley-led action drama show is still on top. Fair to say it does seem like a good sign for the upcoming second season.
According to Variety’s reports, in CBS’ race for the fans’ love Tracker got more than 10 million viewers, while NCIS ended up with a bit less than 10 million, followed by other CBS darlings like Young Sheldon, Blue Bloods, NCIS: Hawai’i and Elsbeth.

It doesn’t feel like Tuesday nights without Will Trent. We miss it already.
It’s only been a few days since the Will Trent Season 2 finale, which will leave fans talking for months.
Many significant moments could change the storyline arcs for Season 3, ranging from Will arresting Angie to Gina threatening to divorce Michael and wanting custody of the kids.
Before we discuss the storylines, let’s discuss how the long hiatus could affect the series. In theory, Will Trent has always been a midseason show with around 13 episodes.
However, ABC renewed Will Trent with 18 episodes, hoping to play the series from January to May. In theory, it seemed like a realistic idea, but when they ended Season 2 on such a massive cliffhanger, fans wanted it to return as soon as possible.
The chatter will die down after a while, so waiting until January wasn’t wise after that controversial episode.

Football continues to act as the glue that holds the broadcast nets together, while Justin Hartley’s Tracker found more viewers this season than longtime victor NCIS.
The 2023-24 Nielsen charts also revealed how Young Sheldon was able to go out on top, while many other CBS series remained in the total viewer top 20. Yet one of the bigger head scratchers was the performance by the network’s Blue Bloods, which, despite averaging 8.1 million viewers this year, is on its way out.
The police drama still does better than The Equalizer (7.7 million) and Fire Country (7.1 million), but the Tom Selleck series is scheduled to wrap at year’s end for its 14th and final season.
“We love this cast, we love their passion for the show,” CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach told reporters in early May. “All shows have to come to an end. It’s important to us to refresh the schedule.

For decades, TV shows lived and died by their ratings among adults 18-49, the demographic sweet spot for advertisers to reach a wide swath of potential customers with money to spend but without the lifelong habits about how to spend it. That’s not really the case anymore as an emphasis on engagement and reach in the streaming era, along with a focus on precisely targeted ads, means chasing demos is even more data-driven than it was in the pre-streaming age. That shift aligns with the reality that, thanks to streaming and the relentless pull of algorithmic content apps, only a small part of a given show’s on-air audience falls into the once coveted demo.

Regular old CBS can still make new hits.
That’s the takeaway from Nielsen’s report on the 100 most-watched primetime broadcast and cable series of the 2023-24 season (via Variety), which lists the freshman drama series “Tracker” as TV’s top non-sports program. It’s the first time a new series has been the No. 1 show since “Survivor” in 2000, per CBS.
“Tracker” capitalized on its coveted post-Super Bowl series premiere slot and lack of new series competition in the midst of a strike-disrupted broadcast season, averaging 10.8 million total viewers per episode in Season 1 on the way to becoming the most-watched new series since “Desperate Housewives” in 2024-25. The series, which stars “This Is Us” veteran Justin Hartley as a survivalist who helps find missing persons, beat out second-place drama “NCIS” by more than a million viewers.
CBS also has the year’s top comedy series, the final season of “Young Sheldon.

In December 2023, CBS announced that Blue Bloods would end with Season 14, and ever since then, lead star Tom Selleck has been waging a one-man war with the network in an attempt to save his iconic series. Admittedly, one of the main reasons Selleck needs Blue Bloods to continue is to keep his main source of income.
But just how much does that source amount to for Selleck per year — and how much has he earned from Blue Bloods throughout all 14 seasons?
Selleck Has Made a Fortune from Blue Bloods
Ever since 2016, it’s been well-known that Tom Selleck’s Blue Bloods salary was $200k per episode. This is a staggering amount of money on its own, but it gets better once we start multiplying. An average Blue Bloods season is 22 episodes long, so we’re looking at $4.4M per season which translates to “per year.”

For all the Blue Bloods fans who haven’t been content with the lack of serious stakes and tension in the show lately, its behind-the-scenes drama should provide more than enough of both.
As CBS is adamant about ending Blue Bloods with Season 14, lead star Tom Selleck is equally hellbent on keeping it going — and so far, it doesn’t look like either party will be willing to back down.
Tom Selleck Won’t Give Up: ‘Tell Your Friends’
While not the only cast member who’s been vocal about the cancellation lately, Tom Selleck has definitely been the most active protester of the network’s decision. The lead star has been going live about it on every opportunity, criticizing CBS for canceling Blue Bloods and claiming that he won’t rest until renewed once again.
Months go by, and Tom Selleck is still on the grind to save his iconic series.

Tom Selleck played Police Commissioner Frank Reagan for 275 episodes of Blue Bloods over 14 seasons. He was one of the highest-paid actors in the series, but his recent comments about his potential financial woes after the end of the series raise several eyebrows. Selleck wants CBS to reconsider its decision to cancel the police procedural drama. However, an insider shared that the network wasn’t buying the actor’s financial situation.

Tom Selleck’s time on Blue Bloods is coming to an end. That means the actor, 79, will have to say goodbye to the hefty paychecks he’s received for playing top cop Frank Reagan on the CBS drama.
Selleck has made it clear that he isn’t ready to retire and thinks the network should reconsider its decision to cancel Blue Bloods. But insiders say he should quit griping, considering that he’s likely made millions over the show’s 14-year run.
Tom Selleck earned an estimated $200,000 per episode for ‘Blue Bloods’
Tom Selleck’s exact Blue Bloods salary isn’t known. But it’s safe to say it’s not chump change. Back in 2016, Variety estimated that he earned $200,000 per episode, which works out to $4.4 million per 22-episode season. Over 14 seasons, that adds up to total earnings in the tens of millions.

The veteran actor, who has portrayed New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan for the past 14 years, recently expressed his sentiments about the show’s abrupt end. Hope for Series Renewal In a recent interview with CBS, Selleck showed no signs of giving up hope: I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses, he remarked confidently. He highlighted the significant success of the show with viewers, stating, We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the

In December 2023, CBS announced that Season 14 would be the finale of Blue Bloods, and that wasn’t a popular decision at all. On the fans’ side, there have been #SaveBlueBloods petitions and campaigns; on the cast’s part, no one has been more vocal about the absolute necessity of the show’s continuation as Tom Selleck.
Apparently, CBS bosses find the lead actor’s pleas extremely infuriating — and for a good reason, as much as it pains us to say it. Here’s what an inside source revealed.
Selleck’s ‘Poverty’ Claims Impressed No One
While a large part of Tom Selleck’s one-man war with CBS is focused on how important the show is for the Blue Bloods cast, crew, and fans, there’s another thing he’s been very vocal about lately: money. According to the actor, the show’s cancellation could render him broke — and unable to maintain his favorite ranch.

Tom Selleck’s Frank Reagan is the classic blend of on- and off-screen patriarch of his TV show. Having been sitting in the Commissioner’s chair since Blue Bloods Season 1, Frank has been a wize and competent leader of the NY cops throughout the seasons — but the show is drawing to the conclusion, and so is his career.
There’s been a lot of foreshadowing of Frank’s retirement in the past episodes, and it only makes sense that he replaces Henry as the “stay-at-home patriarch.” Right?..
Blue Bloods Boss Denies Frank’s Retirement
We’ve been all led to believe that Frank Reagan won’t stay on the Commissioner’s post by the end of Season 14. From his subtle comments to his seemingly seeking reconciliation with the Mayor at one point, it has surely been looking as if Frank was getting his business in order before passing the position to his successor.

CBS canceled a lot of popular shows this season. They canceled Blue Bloods, NCIS: Hawai’i, and CSI: Vegas. They also announced they will bring back S.W.A.T., but only for one more season. The reason the network execs gave was that they wanted to “freshen” things up and hope viewers would like the new shows replacing the beloved canceled series.
One way to do that is by adding in another franchise show, but this one will be very different from everything that came before. CSI: Miami is coming back in a new format.

CBS has offered up some replacements for the departing shows, but it remains to be seen if fans care enough to buy into the new ones. For example, NCIS: Hawai’i is going away, but a show called NCIS: Origins is replacing it. For Blue Bloods, CBS is bringing in...

Blue Bloods isn't quite done yet.
CBS' beloved police/family drama still has eight episodes left that will air in the fall, though they've wrapped up the first part of their final season and will soon be finished filming the series finale, which will air in December 2024.
CBS gets a big, fat F for this cancelation news, but let's put that aside and look at what worked and what didn't during the first part of Blue Bloods Season 14.
Before we jump into it, let's clear up some confusion. CBS is calling those final eight episodes the second part of Season 14 even though they Also called Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 10 the season finale.
Tom Selleck recently stated that those eight episodes are really Season 15, and it's hard to blame him for saying so, even though it caused more confusion. These episodes are airing in the fall, traditionally the start of the new season,...

Danny Reagan and Maria Baez are the constant pain in Blue Bloods fans’ bottoms: for way too long, we’ve been waiting for the two to get together, and they just keep circling around the topic. Most fans agree that, since the show is coming to a closure, the notorious couple will get their happy ending — but apparently, Blue Bloods showrunners have other plans in mind…
Or so they say, because we’re very much not buying it.
Blue Bloods Boss Denies Daez Endgame
Danny and Baez have been the talk of the town for several years now, and the bittersweet Blue Bloods finale seems like the perfect opportunity to bring them together. That’s what fans think, anyway, because the series’ showrunner Kevin Wade recently sat down with TV Insider only to stomp on those dreams and hopes.

Blue Bloods isn’t interested in reinventing the wheel in its final season. Showrunner Kevin Wade tells TV Insider that just like in Season 14 Part 1 and its finale, which aired on Friday, May 17 on CBS, Blue Bloods‘ final episodes will be reliably familiar territory, but it will always aim to entertain its loyal viewers. There are dramatic turns they’re interested in exploring, like the bail reform plot line and Aidan Quinn‘s violent reaction to it in the midseason finale, but one thing that’s not likely to happen when the show returns is a Danny and Baez romance. Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) had the heavy task of reining in Quinn’s Det. Gus Vanderlip, who had gone rogue in response to a serial rapist he had arrested two weeks prior being released. Between this storyline and the crooked sober-living house at which Jamie (Will Estes...

The revolving theme for this season has been the AI robots. Max still has Ocho in her lab from CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 5, "It Was Automation."

The already iconic police procedural Blue Bloods is coming to an end. This is an excellent opportunity to remember other TV shows about law enforcement officers – both bad cops and real detectives.

The action takes place in the coastal town of Helsingor. The series tells the story of Dan and Marianne Sommerdahl, who work together as police officers. The man has a best friend – Flemming Torp. His help in investigating crimes can hardly be overestimated, as well as in the collapse of the Sommerdahl relationship.
Flemming and Marianne, who is disappointed in her constantly busy husband, become closer faster than Dan can solve a new case. But police work cannot be distracted by family drama, and the trio must work together for the sake of the rule of law.

This year, several television shows have been canceled much to the chagrin of fans. Several of them were popular shows that still got good ratings. However, some of them also didn’t get proper endings. An example is CSI: Vegas, which will end with several cliffhangers. Another show this happened to was So Help Me Todd.
Fans have lashed out at the network about the show’s ending and here is what you need to know.
So Help Me Todd Ends Series With Cliffhanger
When CBS explained why it was canceling shows like Blue Bloods, the network said it needed to “freshen up” the schedule by adding new shows. That means some fan-favorite shows had to end. However, they also said that they wanted to allow the shows to end on notes that ended the stories.

Tom Selleck isn’t happy that CBS canceled Blue Bloods. He insisted the show was still a ratings juggernaut and the cancelation makes no sense. However, that might change if Selleck has his way. With the season finale coming up, Tom says he is “optimistic” about the show’s future, despite its cancelation.
Here is what Tom had to say about his show’s possible future.
Tom Selleck Optimistic About Blue Bloods Future
Despite CBS canceling it, Tom Selleck said he is not giving up hope in Blue Bloods’ return to television. Selleck plays patriarch Frank Reagan on the hit police procedural series. However, when CBS announced the show would end after Season 14, split into two parts, Selleck and other cast members were unhappy with the decision.
“I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses,” Selleck said when asked about the show’s future on CBS Sunday Morning.

Frank Reagan doesn't believe that cops should receive special treatment when they break the law, but Danny and Sid apparently do.
On Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 10, they spent most of the hour searching for a rogue cop running around threatening court officers with his gun because he was upset that a perp had been set free.
A tense ending sequence had the cop threaten to shoot himself, only to put his gun down and leave with Danny -- then somehow escape while Danny and Sid decided not to bother to search further. What the heck?
The Aidan Quinn Story's Ending Was Disappointing
Blue Bloods has always been pro-cop, but it's never been pro-criminal. Frank emphasizes constantly that bad cops make the entire department look bad and need to be weeded out.
Danny said that Vanderlip didn't want to cross Frank and had better cooperate -- so what happened after that?...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains details of tonight’s Blue Bloods Season 14 midseason finale, which is the close of the first part of the NYPD family drama’s final season.
“Father, forgive me for I have sinned,” says New York Police commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) in church in tonight’s Blue Bloods last midseason finale as he tries to repair a rift with his actual father, the former NYPD commissioner Henry Reagan (Len Cariou).
It ain’t the Sunday dinner that defines the well-watched CBS series, but it certainly was a moment of affirmation for perspicacious fans who may be speculating where their show is going to go in its final episodes after a long long run. Put another way, Blue Bloods may be ending later this year, but you’d never know it from the Season 14 midseason finale that aired tonight.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the Blue Bloods Season 14 Part 1 finale, “The Heart of a Saturday Night.”] Blue Bloods ended its Season 14 midseason finale on its usual positive note at the weekly Reagan family dinner. With Season 14 Part 1 now in the rearview mirror, showrunner Kevin Wade is giving a glimpse into what to expect in the final episodes set to premiere this fall on CBS, and he doesn’t think it’s likely that they’ll make Tom Selleck‘s Frank Reagan retire from his position as police commissioner. Some characters this season, like the mayor, have hinted at a desire for a new commissioner, raising questions about whether Frank is going to stay in the job that defines his life. Even when he has difficult days like in Season 14 Episode 10, which showed Frank and his father (Len Cariou) at uncomfortable odds over a deceased cop’s use of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, Frank doesn’t...

Now that the rumor of the show's cancellation has been confirmed, fans are worried that they will miss the charismatic actor with the legendary mustache. But don't worry, there are plenty of shows you can watch with old-school Selleck in them.

Exclusive: More ensemble drama series are reducing the number of episodes cast members are in as a way to save money. The series regulars on CBS’ FBI and FBI: Most Wanted will have their minimum guarantees trimmed by 2 episodes next season, Deadline has learned. The third FBI series, FBI: International, is not impacted, I hear. Reps for FBI producers Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television declined comment.
As Deadline reported exclusively this week, veteran cast members on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy also are getting their episodes cut next season by 3-4 in a cost-saving measure.
The move for the two FBI series mirrors the episodic guarantees reductions applied to Wolf/Uni TV’s Chicago and Law & Order dramas a year ago. The timing makes sense as such talent cost-cutting usually follows a renewal that nowadays comes with a flat or reduced license fee.

Voiceover actor Paul Skye Lehrman was at his friend’s house in 2022 when a YouTube video was pulled up from a channel called Military News about Russia’s advance into Ukraine. He immediately recognized the voice as his own, though he never contracted with the channel operator for use of his likeness.
“It was my voice dictating the conflict and talking about weapons,” Lehrman says. “These are words I never said.”
A year later, he was on his way to a doctor’s appointment when he says he again stumbled upon his voice in a podcast about Hollywood’s dual strikes in which a generative artificial intelligence text-to-speech tool was used to answers questions about the dangers of the technology. That’s when he and his wife Linnea Sage, also a voiceover actor who suspects her voice was stolen in a similar manner, reached out to an attorney.

Blue Bloods has been on air since 2010, but in December 2023, CBS announced that the then upcoming Season 14 would be the TV show’s finale. Both fans and stars of the show took the news poorly, with the former launching petitions to prevent their favorite series’ cancellation, and the latter defending the show in interviews and public appearances.
Tom Selleck has been especially vocal trying to save Blue Bloods lately, but now the star actor confirms: there will be a Season 15, after all. It’s just a matter of definition.
Tom Selleck Promised Blue Bloods S15
Selleck is the Blue Bloods’ patriarch both on and off-screen, and it only makes sense that he’s the one fighting for the show’s survival. After a series of bold statements in his recent interviews, the TV star seemingly settled the matter in his own mind: having recently sat down with Country Living, Selleck...

It should be business as usual for the 2024-2025 season, with a mix of returning and new shows in the networks’ primetime lineup. As always, there are dramas, comedies, animated series, and unscripted shows filling the time slots. There are some changes. CBS once again has back-to-back NCIS shows, but it’s the new prequel Origins, taking over Hawai’i‘s timeslot following the spinoff’s cancellation. CBS is also going with what it knows works, with the Young Sheldon spinoff, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, taking over the franchise’s Thursday night slot. The network will also be airing the final episodes of Blue Bloods this fall. And Fox shocked fans by moving Family Guy to midseason for the first time since 2005. Canceling the show in its prime is one thing, and while it may be hard for voters to understand the logic behind CBS's decision, they have learned to accept the truth. However, all the confusion that the promotion is now causing the beleaguered fandom is something that could have been avoided.
Those who saw the ad for the 10th episode of season 14 may have expected it to be the final episode of the season, as well as the entire series. But will there be a Season 15? And when will Blue Bloods end? Here's what we know so far.
Is Blue Bloods Renewed for Season 15?

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host Jimmy Kimmel once again shared the Disney upfronts stage on Tuesday, providing his zingers in person for advertisers and media buyers at the programming presentation for the first time in five years. That’s because last year Kimmel didn’t attend due to the Hollywood WGA strikes. And in 2022, he was in New York — but had to be beamed in to do his routine after testing positive for Covid. (The 2021 and 2020 upfronts were virtual because of the pandemic.)
“Two years ago, I couldn’t be here in person because I had Covid. And last year, I couldn’t be here because of the writer’s strike. And this year I couldn’t think of a third excuse,” Kimmel said. “I tried diarrhea on the plane, but I guess they get that all the time now.”
