Klaus. Caroline. All the fan service because they did not renew. Let's lay it all out, what we saved for another 100 episodes. Everything wrapped up like a gift service from Julie Plec, "sorry I abandoned you for Vampire Academy and The Endgame." *barf emoji*
At least they left it open-ended. Still a real possibility of backdoor pilot for another TVDU show with Candice King and Danielle Rose on the main stage. *real fingers crossed* I'd say I'd pay for that show but I really mean, take my demographic's ad revenue.
Let's give them some relief though, imagine coming in and living and working the same universe for over a decade. No stans ever acknowledged writer's fatigue. OR even more, every main character has died and resurrected half a dozen times in the (how many more times can they answer the call to adventure?). OR stay within this YA genre when they've clearly aged-out and pushing way past the big 3-0.
**edit** So never mind, just saw the CW's 2022 mid-season cancellations and I'm pretty sure they're going under. It seems the WB and UPN/Paramount+ split in streaming have axed the budgets for the CW network. If Star Media does pick up the leftover network, I don't see them allocating budgets for the previous year's poor revenue. Nothing could've been done, not Legacies, not Roswell, so well wishes for Julie Plec on a future more dedicated network.
