- TriviaSigur Rós, an Icelandic post-rock band, was hired as the wedding band for King Joffery's wedding ceremony. Their version of 'The Rains of Castamere' can be heard during the end credits of the episode, and the three of them are the ones whom the king throws coins at. One of the band members was unintentionally hurt quite badly when one of the coins hit him right in the forehead, even though it was made of rubber for safety.
- GoofsWhen Joffrey is choking on the floor, he points to Tyrion, who bends down and picks up the goblet. After he dies, Tyrion bends down and picks up the goblet again.
- Quotes
[at Joffrey's wedding, Loras exchanges flirtatious gazes with Oberyn Martell. He walks backwards and bumps into Jaime]
Loras Tyrell: Ser Jaime, I'm very sorry.
Jaime Lannister: Ser Loras, it's quite all right.
[Jaime watches Margaery]
Jaime Lannister: Your sister looks very beautiful.
Loras Tyrell: As does yours.
Jaime Lannister: So... looking forward to your wedding?
[Loras pauses slightly before answering]
Loras Tyrell: Yes, very much.
Jaime Lannister: Our fathers are both rather keen on the prospect.
Loras Tyrell: They certainly are.
Jaime Lannister: Perhaps they should get married.
[they chuckle]
Jaime Lannister: If you were to marry Cersei, she'd murder you in your sleep.
[Loras' smile fades and he frowns]
Jaime Lannister: If you somehow managed to put a child in her first, she'd murder him, too, long before he drew his first breath. Luckily for you, none of this will happen because you'll never marry her.
Loras Tyrell: [nods] And neither will you.
[Loras walks away]
- Crazy creditsThe main song of House Lannister, "The Rains of Castamere", plays over the closing credits, well suited for a House Lannister-centered episode.

The dialogue is on another level, most scenes here are a confrontation between characters that high-key hate each other (ex. Oberyn meeting Cersei and Tywin) but the brilliance is that that condescension and hatred is phrased in the most eloquent sentences the English language has to offer.
Seriously well done. Watching each character's thinly veiled contempt for their current situation (looking at you Cersei you food waster) makes this episode so fun to watch.
Comparing this vs S8 in terms of quality is like comparing night and day.
