Spin City (1996)
A great show, ruined by unnecessary actors
What a terrific show... from the start, the humor, the characters, even the plots made this show hard not to watch. Yet, as always, producers never know when to say "enough." they felt the need to replace J.Espo with.... HEATHER LOCKLEAR?!?! what the hell were they thinking!!!! As if that wasn't enough though, they actually had to turn the main relationship of focus away from Nicki (Who was, by far, the best match for mike character-wise (and also significantly more bearable to watch)) and focus it on the Blonde Bimbo who couldn't act her way out of a paper sack (and, my god, is she annoying to watch). Yet nonetheless, i watched further onwards until the moment came for Michael to say goodbye, and i thought to myself, "well, at least they're ending the show before it could lower itself any more..." WRONG!!! Here comes Charlie Sheen, with half the cast (I feel betrayed) and none of the charisma, and in case you didn't know, They switched filming to Los Angeles!!!! My advice to these producers for the future "Recognize Necessary Limitations!!!" Still, i will never stop watching the first 4 seasons... best show in the last 10 years, and my best to Michael J.
I'm Not There (2007)
Ambiguous, Decietful, but nonetheless Dylan
I am a large Dylan fan, and i love watching well produced independent films just as much as the next vagabond, but in this case the two don't mix all too well. Haynes from the start has obviously well interpreted the life of the infamous and controversial folk singer, and from that derived a great production plan for his film through the script, editing, and (possibly the best thing about the film) the acting. The only problem is, he forgot to take into account that the audience will not have a copy of Dylans autobiography in their lap while watching the film. Between the names of characters, their counterparts, the sequencing differential of chronological truth, and the cut sequencing, i sat through this film squirming in my seat. I regret now not having waited for video release, as the pause and rewind buttons would have come quite in handy, yet as of this point i have ruined it for myself and doubt that i will take the time to sit through this again. The problem is, with a little exception towards Gere's 'Billy the Kid' mash up, the characters are little explained but overly developed. You leave the theater with a sense of Dylan's life-long ambiguity, but only in the most abstract of senses, with Little fact and little insurance that what you processed in your head was anything like what the director was truly trying to convey. At the movies end, i was confused about everything i had just seen, only with exception to Dylan's periodical philosophy. The director had the right idea. Yet, despite his attempts to parallel the films confused and frenzied state to the mind of the legendary Dylan, he could have kept his artistic character parallels and insanely disorderly flashbacks somewhat more relevant to Dylan, if only for a little less indecisive and more thoughtful explanation.
I Spy (2002)
Worst Movie Ever!!!
I know what you're all thinking- "Owen Wilson! Eddie Murphy! Wow!" Try not to fall too deep into such thoughts though, because this is the movie that would scar any actors career. What makes this movie so bad is the fact that the people involved in it actually Tried to make a decent movie... in other words, they didn't go into the project knowing a 'B movie' or 'cheezy sequel' or 'concept flick' would be created; yet they failed sooo damn miserably! This was supposed to be a serious "buddy-movie", but with no chemistry between buddies, no comedy, no action, and No Ending, this movie is my pick for worst film of all time (that I've seen, at least). Plan 9 From Outer Space deserves an Oscar when placed next to this floater.
