S.W.A.T.: Stigma (2020)
Best episode: great directing and acting
I love SWAT. I don't consider it prestige television, and I don't want it to be. But this episode was superb by any measure. I loved the directing, and all of the cast went to a different place in this episode. Thanks to all involved in making it.
Mental health and suicide are obviously important issues, and it's great that they also tackled a bit the possible bravado of men in these situations, particularly in the testosterone world that can come with intense policy work.
I don't want every SWAT episode to be like this - it's emotionally draining, but this "very special episode" was well done and important.
Modern Family (2009)
Best network comedy of all time
Clever writing, great acting. Best show ever. The side looks into the camera are always perfect. Ten years after show started, it stills holds up well.
Rutherford Falls (2021)
A real surprise
The first episode isn't the best, but gets better quickly. Cute and clever.
